  • @ig33ku Hi ig33ku, I am planning to buy the D525MW which looks very similiar to this board. However, I heard that the nm10 chipset is gets really hot and the Intel motherboard don't have a heatsink on the chipset. Did you experience any problems with this? Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

  • @gonzalioz Honestly, if u would want to wait a few days i'll finish testing the 1015B Asus netbook which has a C-50 AMD chipset n u can compare which is better. :)

  • hello everyone, I want know if this CPU works with a 32bit SO, because I read in the Intel Site that this processor is "64 bit instruction set"; another question the atx connector is a 24 pin ? Because I have alreday a microatx PSU, but it has a standard atx + p4 connector

  • @markix88 Its a 24pin atx. 64bit is backward compatible with 32bit in hardware (it will happily run any type of OS) n mostly software (win7 65bit running 32bit sortware).

  • @ig33ku oh thanks you so much, I know about backward compatiblity, but I just asked becase I worried about a new pure 64 bit architecture of these processors (like Itanium / Itanium II) for the little price (Intel not list the 32 bit x86 in the database of this CPU). Any suggestion for a standard 20 pin atx? I think use an adaptor...

  • @markix88 All 64bit r still x86 chips in a sense it just able to do 64bit computing unlike normal 32bit chips. Some earlier 64bit from Intel were not true 64bit ie AMD standard so those chips maybe listed as 32bit only.

As for the 20pin adapter i wont recommend it. I tried one once, a cheap one n it shorted out the psu. Could be the psu was also a cheap china momma-san but i think u should invest at least in a proper 24pin psu.

  • the idea of the new Ions and Atoms is power consumption...

  • @zaknology They dont hold much of a candle against the new fusion boards.... hold off if u r interested n get AMD.

  • @ig33ku yer but fusion is connected to a larger cpu, the idea of atom is low cpu power for long battery life in netbooks, but can wait for 32nm atom like chips to come out!

  • @zaknology The fusion has the same power n low heat specs as the atoms... remember that the TDP of the fusion systems includes the GPU power needs which outperforms the Atom IONS.

  • @ig33ku very true but the fusion platform is not yet available so :'( - hopefuly if smashes in at like $60 so its less than the atom boards, but somehow i see it competing with ion prices, somewhere in the high hundreds? 180 ish?

  • @zaknology Depends on AMD.. i think they may go low just to end the Atom's market share n get oems to go fusion for netbooks.

  • @ig33ku hopefully they bring them in cheap and rape the underpowered atom, i mean sure there designed for netbooks but we havent come that far in netbooks since the dual core atom like 2 years ago now... would be nice to see some competition if you know what i mean... (might piss off nvidia tho, there ION will get shit canned) hehehe....

  • @zaknology nivdia is pretty much dead.. if they think they can beat up the other ARM manufacturers with their supposedly high end chip they r going to design they have another thing coming.

  • hey buddy can you please tell me one thing i had a prob. to connect my IDE drive with this board with the help of IDE to SATA converter i connect so many times but not successful. if you have any demo to use the IDe converter card in this board as well.

    my email ID is (tailang.sachin@gmail.com)

  • @Blockygraphics Yup.... makes a great fire/router/nas i guess... at least as a pc router u know ur bt wont crash when u have set it to 2000 connections n 100 half connections hahaha (which i havent tried yet).

  • @ig33ku

    Thanks!

  • Your welcome.

  • That heatsink is quite large for an Atom. Also, where can I find a Broadcom Crystal HD video decoder? I've tried Amazon and Newegg but it didn't show up (I live in the US).

    Nice video by the way.

  • I PMed u the link... apparently the price has gone up.... must be a shortage now....

  • @ikilluish

Ebay has had many of them in the recent past for $20 to $40 USD.

  • @perseverance8 Yeah they were around 20-21 now its like 30 bucks onwards.

  • Nice informative video! thank u!! 5 *'s!

  • Always trying to be helpful.

  • Nice!!!
