  • I love how all the indians are in denial about what is actually happening in thier country. 65% literacy rate, India still one of the poorest countries in the world and yet they are building a space program. The middle class are spending thier money on shopping malls and movie theaters. Corruption everywhere, yet they have the nerve to blame everyone else.

  • Danny boyle is a greedy motherfcker.. Those poor children have nothing to be happy about and he is out celebrating his succes.. Just a fcking milion man you greedy fucker thats 1 out of 600.. Just a miliion dollars and they would have been fine.. does that moron really think they will just spend it al up.. to spend 1 milion dollar in india would take you a fcking decade.. even if you try your hardest..

  • @bstpitty I could spent a million dollars in their country in one day. Buy a nice exotic car or give it to a bum. WINNING!

  • danny boyle is a fcking greedy monkey.. i dont understand how that fcker can sleep at night knowing that those children he exploited, are living in the slums and having a very fcked up time.. And please dont say he looked after them by saving their money so they wont spend it all.. that is not his fcking decission.. they should've got what they earned.. He could pay the parents at least.. I mean the shiit he has done for them is nothing compare what he made,, I wish he would lose every penny..

  • I request to all to please ignore the horrible comment left by @TheHinduzionist , he has lost his mind........the movie shows what it is in the country, nothing more nothing less.......

  • so cute

  • this is anti indian movie and a british propaganda so fuck u british cunts, queen fuckers.

  • @TheHinduzionist mulla i am like a song

  • this movie - you can watch it for free online t @ MOOV ZON ,COM search the above link on google

  • i think both the 'youngest Jamal' and the 'middle Jamal' are beautiful! they're incredibly cute!

  • @syvyjuhachi18 Agreed!

  • Do u know that India has more honors kids than America has kids.

  • I think it the movie was great! I'm proud of Tanay for playing a new role.

  • the middle boy in the movie is very beautiful.

  • come to adelaide, its pretty much india just not messy, more indians than india

  • india has got to be the most wonderful place on earth sure its got its negatives but its full of amazing people i want to go there one day....

  • i got a story that vould work thi s

  • I don't think this movie exposes india in a bad way-when i saw this film i was like "wow, what an amazing country, i'd really love to go there"

Sometimes i get worried that places like india with unique culture will fade away and the whole world will be like the US.

we have to be carefull in our quest to develop countries like India we don't take away what makes them so special.

  • Do you think that the US doesn't have unique cultures? I assure you it does. The world may like to make the US the butt of its jokes but, at the end of the day, it's still where most people would like to live and see their children grow up. Focusing on what politicians, the media, actors and actresses say doesn't work. You can't know a place until you live there and you listen to the hearts of its people. I am happy and proud to be an American, that doesn't mean im a meathead, racist or ignorant

  • Comment removed

  • @mratomix your are right i love america as much i love india

  • @mratomix Look, I get that you love the US and it is your country so you can be proud all you want of it. But please don't make such generalizations like "[the US] is where most people would like to live and see their children grow up". Unless you have met every person in the world you can't say such thing. I love living in my country and almost every person I know does too and those who'd like to emigrate prefer Canada or Europe.

  • i feel no hatred against anybody or any country.......... perhaps there is

so much to learn from the pthers and give.........

so much to see & share!!

    love dis movie.......folks

  • OMG I love this movie so much.

  • The movie is really nicely done. Unfortunately many Indians don't want to face reality & are ashamed of exposing it to international community. There is nothing to be ashamed about. Countries like US, UK have their own dirty stuff which gets exposed every now & then. Take Clinton's scandal for example.

  • Very true. How much better would it be if we were honest about our own short comings and actually tried to work on them; rather than going around self righteously judging other nations whilst hiding our own secrets and making everything is honky-dory when our people are suffering?

  • Do you ever got that right! American journalists seem to dump America's dirty laundry out for the world to see on a daily basis. From war crimes in Iraq to street crime in New York and even on the obesity epidemic of American children. And yes, even about our President's infidelity. So we Americans are used to getting embarrassed. But journalists in the developing countries won't write anything negative about their countries in fear of losing their job or even spending time in jail.

  • @samann95014 Clinton's scandal? You mean the sex thing? Oh, that's nothing compared to real scandals also known as the war in Iraq and the middle class dying in America. What I'm trying to say is that mass poverty and a horny president are not quite in the same league as a scandal.

  • @GVStudios i agree with you 100% on this.

  • this man is brilliant

  • nice

  • Great f*ckin movie! Watch this movie in HQ and many more movies on my channel!

  • He should of payed them :(

  • didnt they enrolled the kids to a good school and gave them trust funds which the kids will have access to until they turn 18 and smart enough to use it?

  • But he did send them to school and they did get paid. The little girl who played Latika has a plasma screen t.v in her room!

  • The songs paper planes by M.I.A and that guy is a fuckin tante twiddeling cum goblin that douches his greaty ass whith the money that he more or less stole from those kids I wish somone would fuck his shit up make him live in the slums for the rest of his life he was probably stayin in 5 star hottels during the making of the movie while the kids slept on the floor of their shacks

  • Hater!!!

"That guy" = Dany Boyle !!! Gave to the main actors full scholarships until finish university !!!!

And it's not Dany's fault that kids used to be pour !!! Now He moved those kids and their families to America !!!!!

He gave them something more important than just fucking money. EDUCATION !!!

  • Nuff' said.

  • Whats that song?

  • The band is : Sigur Ross.

I think the song is : Glosoly. But If you listen to them songs you will have a good surprise

  • that band is amazing!

  • yea!! they really rock !!

  • why didnt he pay them:'(

    there so sweet

  • danny boyle and susan boyle is talented people...

  • since theyre so amazing and genuine and sweet, PAY THEM

  • He didn't pay them? wtf?!

  • They are payed, it's just put in a trust fund untill they turn 18, so their parents could p*ss the money away and screw them over.

  • what is the background music?????

  • The best part about working with child actors? You can rip them off and they won't even notice!

  • DANNY BOYLE = SCUMBAG BILLIONAIRE

  • Damn straight! Danny exploited these kids, defaulted on his promises, then abandoned them to go on to better things.

  • GOOD ONE LOL BUT TRUE THOUGH

  • What he really liked is that he didn't have to pay them a shit.

  • its so obvious the reason he chose 'real' actors-pay less, cost less, less hassle=more profit. people from the slum dont know any better and that means he could escape paying loads of money to these children. i respected boyle for trainspotting but this is just disgraceful what he is doing.

  • I think he sounded very sincere and genuine

  • i also like to play that game with the hands :))

  • the worst director you mean! who doesn't care about the child actors, only about the money!

  • how did you come to that conclusion?

  • Well let me see, if the movie makers really gave a damn, they would simply DO IT!! I'm not mad at you or anybody here its just that if they really wanted to help they would, the Amish build houses in a day why is it taking Boyle and the rest so damn long!

  • well he didnt pay them?

  • I read somewhere that the little girl lives in the slums. Does she live there now or did she used to live in the slums?

  • They still live in the slums. A bunch of the children actually are homeless now because there homes were demolished by the government. Google it, it's sad... For how much the movie made, you think the freakin director would help them out..

  • Don't forget vote right now on MTV for Dev, Frieda, and the other nominations Slumdog is up for the MTV MOVIE AWARDS!

  • Was That The Blind Kid at 0:41

  • think so, but when they blinded him in the movie I freaked out

  • Song is Sigur Ros - Hoppipolla

  • someone PLEASE tell me the name of the song...PLEASE

  • hoppipola by sigur ross

  • those kids were absolutly amazing! and adorable. great movie.

  • they actually put all the money into a trust fund that they can access when there 16 and put the kids who were in the slums into school so they have an education...

  • thats actually not true they set up a trust fund for the children and put them in a english school so when they r 16 they get all the money... i no that for a fact and the media tried to change it...

  • hes fucking brilliant!!! they all are !!

  • love it

  • A.R RAHMAN IS BEST

  • what's the song that plays at the end of the video?

  • The kids are back in the slums

    /watch?v=VOv4odCcBMo

  • The kids, they are wonderful. I always have them in my mind now. Beautiful little angels. Great job! God bless them now and always. JaiHo :)

  • A movie with such success should change the lives of these kids.

  • Yes, I agree that it should change their lives adn for the good at that.

  • boyle has gifted eyes..allow him to see inside a kid a talent that very magnificent,in his eyes, and the gifted make him win a lot of awards..its all come from Allah..Allah create his eyes, giving him sight to find the boy..unfortunately he is unbeliever..

  • it is great movie..! it is shown not only in the the poorest country but also in the life of the inividual. i came from philippines and on the time i watch that movie, only one things that i can say to my self and to everybody that " everything happen has a puspose" and also" money can't buy happiness" but, the love that make us happen is the most and best gift that we want. Nice movie and i salute!

  • I saw the movie yesterday...it was fantastic, well done to the cast and crew

  • i saw it in the theatres yesterday...cried through the whole thing. makes you realize how lucky you are not livin there, very uplifting movie. those kids were ADORIBLE

  • I saw it too...it's a greaaatttt filllmmmm i wos thrilled!

  • Dear RabbitsRmyLife

it really nice to hear u liked the film and it had a +ve effect in u.... but truly we are lucky to live there in India cos its here all emotions are felt, needs are met, families ae respected by heart not just with money!!! no offense on u....

    I feel most lucky 2 b an Indian!!! 10q

  • I never been in india, but for some reason... I have this huge excitment about your country. when this movie hit american theatures I was sooo proud.. that finally America would get a taste of her. U are truely lucky to live there.. and I hear everyday from indians in usa.. how much they miss her. It is like missing ur mother.

  • dear lola,

thanka a ton for understanding and respecting a country for wat it is... its really soothing to hear that! yes we all miss our India, our mother...i like u.s.. u guys have the power change the world watever it maybe fashion, music, movie, president u seem to be the powerful one... wish every1 cud use it for peace!! :)

    take care lola!!

  • the kids are the reason why this movie achieved what it has achieved

  • to me, the kids were reason the movie was so great. Everytime i remember this movie, I think about the first kids. They should have all the credits of the movie.

  • I love those kid actor. AWESOME :)

  • stop bullshiting mate. he put all the money in school for the kids to get education, and when they are finished from school, he has given each kid 50,000 dollars. plus he took them even to the oscars, so cut the crap.

  • He gave those kids $50k each? You think they have a bank account?? What do you think happened to that money? I'm a non-Indian American that lived in Mumbai between 2005 and 2008. It would not surprise me at all that the parents got the money. Hopefully it went to the kids future, but it wouldn't surprise me that most of it didn't.

  • Apparently that happened first time round, so he started a trust fund, it makes sure they're educated but no one can touch it til they're eighteen, then it's theirs. Or so I heard.

  • but some of the money should also be used now. not just wait til he turns 18.

his dad is suffering renal failure or something. thats what i heard. even if he parents used the money, im sure they wont be living there anymore.

  • /watch?v=VOv4odCcBMo

  • before u make negative comments about these producers, please get vital information.Danny boyle and colson have already done credible things like putting them in school and arranging for house for them.also a trust fund for them have been set which they'll have when they turn 18.whatelse do people want them to do? i mean the plans they have for them are long term plans.they want them 2 be educated.

  • i watched the movie last night... and i thought it was brilliant.. great movie.... very good i personally enjoyed it alot...and i would recomend other people to watch it tooo! xD

  • Great!!! Brilliant!!! I want to watch this film as soon as possible.

  • how ironic it is that a rags to riches movie has its own rags to riches story within its cast. Im just awe struck at the amazing talent these kids have! To be honest I have yet to see this kind of talent yet, not even within hollywood. I wish the best of luck to all these kids, I now their lives are changed for the better, congrats!

  • On February 25, 2009, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority announced that both Azharuddin and Rubina would be given "free houses" so that they would no longer have to live in the Mumbai slum of Garib Nagar.

  • how can one expect the producers to rehabilitate a slum with 1 million population?

  • amazing film, these kids have pure talent.

  • isnt the boy who plays the teenage counterpart of dev in the movie tarre zameen par, as the crippled friend?

  • Yeah that is him,

  • yupp he is ..

  • danny is just amazing!!!

  • I heard that the two youngest boys' parents squandered the money they had earned or something. Apparently Rubiana (youngest Latika) is well taken care-of with straight-thinking parents. The others not so much. I think the studio had set up education funds and trust funds that the parents couldn't touch and mess with.

  • Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Ismail were the only kids pulled right from the slums. The rest are more experienced actors/from richer families. Last I checked, for those two in particular, Fox Searchlight, Boyle and the producer had set up trust funds and were making sure their families were taken care of.

  • the kids deserve all the oscars. the kids were the best

  • The reason those kids were at the oscars is because of the international controversy surrounding this film. The film company were shamed into improving their money and eventually they trotted them out for the oscars. The film company spent millions on publicity and in the end i guess they were happy to pay a bit more on top trying to look good. But the way the child actors and the co-director were treated initially was an absolute disgrace.

  • No...they was paid three times the annual salary of an adult for a few months work......Two of the kids were then given flats (the two who lived in slums) ...a trust fund was setup for them all. Danny wouldn't take advantage of them. A charity has also been setup to help all the kids in the slums. The negativity surrounding the kids were just lies.

  • Your talking nonsense. 3x the annual salary? What is that supposed to mean. What is it 3x Danny Boyles annual salary? Dev Patel's?

The film company are doing a damage limitation campaign. Nothing they say can be believed. They are the Scumdog Millionaires.

  • sigh! there will always be negative conspiracy theorists.

  • The kids are still living in dharavi. Compared to some people living there there lives wont be so bad. But compared to Dev Patel or Danny Boyle what do you reckon?

  • Show us how India slums look.

    The music is wonderful

  • What a scumbag. The film company and danny boyle made millions. While the real stars of the show the kids were left in poverty. When this came out the film company did their best to discredit the parents of the kids. One of the many offensive things they said was that one of the parents had used the money for their own TB drugs. If there was anyjustice in the world those people would catch TB sooner rather than later. Evil scum

  • no actually those kids where sent to school and the money has been kept in a bank for them and so when their 16 they can use that money for university and by then the amount would have increased marginally. This movie practically set their lives for them.

  • actually until they are 18 for college.

  • u have no proof ur js anotha muppet who gets off on leaving negative comment on youtube u fag!!! hav a look at oscars an see hw da kids r doin in fuckin disneyland and there trust fund for dere education which is btr than any otha slum kids cud wish 4

  • Actually that isn't true. Their welfare as always been of concern and if you read the right reports you would know this. Unfortunately, people like you are perpetuating a myth. Do proper research first.

  • this is what the producers get for trying to give these kids a once-in-a lifetime break! and most wouldn't demand the whole arm from the producers if the movie didn't get the critics' nod. Most are ignorant of dozens of wonderful movies like this that are initially on a budget but were not successful. Slumdog was lucky. It could have gone unnoticed and if it did, would producers get comments like this?

  • i love the kids. if was michale jackson i would have them at my very owne neverland ranch. They wouldn't need the slum no more. bet the wouldn't squeal. and no eye poping out just alot of bedtime stories even in the day time. come home children.

  • "No, they were not paid that good. According to The Daily Telegraph, Azharuddin Ismail (youngest Salim) was only paid £1,700. That is only a tiny fraction of the amount that child actors in America get paid."...You do realize that 1700 pounds is 3 years salary for the average ADULT Indian?.. So in real terms that's like being paid 3 years salary for the average adult American..which would be over 100,000. Most child actors in the USA wouldn't even get 50,000 for their first film.

  • Plus i think, the child actors were ones from the slums themselves, and were sent to school for acting in Slumdog Millionair. So They benifited pretty well off of this.

  • i think the kid should get the award for best new actor!!!!!hahah

  • my geog class have to tudy this and my teacher has a private copy :o

  • man those kids were great...i mean they acted like real pros

  • Amazing movie! I loved!

  • Brilliant movie.

What's the name of that song?

  • Jai Ho !!

    Osaya !!

  • The kids in it were terrific. Go see it, so real, the reality of India.

  • Good video

  • watch an Indian psycho in a Christian-thriller, THE LAST SUPPER( now in YouTube)...*****

Just key in IAFT in the search-box to view

Also stars Dan SHor (X-Files, Star Trek, TRON)

  • "HOT DOG" doesn't mean u eat the Dog food. Slumdog Is an English phrase

  • poverty porn..lol i iwll give these indians another word...IGNORANCE....there are slums in india ..live with it..instead of sayin crap..try to improve the conditions of these kids who are simply amazing...

  • this movie is BETTER than generic overhyped boring HOLLYWOOD

danny boyle is A GENIUS, this shits on every fucking boring arse forgottentomorrow conservative hollywood tripe

  • jaideep you are fair ignorant, yeah he used the kids from the slums in the movie to present a more realistic view of things...but do you understand that he gave those kids a chance, instead of paying them money, he put them through school and left them a trust fund in which they can access when they are 16....to me thats better than any form of money or dollars, and as a result they are doing something about the slums, and the kids future are being looked after....research next time you comment

  • We will just have to wait and see if these children will benefit from the education and trust fund before anybody including myself can pass judgement on this actor.

  • The actors of Salim and Latika as children had funding set up by the director and has payment to aid education... So jaideep2011 please don't criticise these people for making a good film because they didn't just exploit children, they did give something back.

  • Sometimes roots are overdug. This film is better than the average Hollywood garbage. Besides you'll find that the child actors were paid three times the annual salary an adult would be paid in the same neighbourhood. So yes, money is used for their future, a lot can be done with 3x an adult's annual salary.

  • And YouTube presents: Another Dumbfuck commenter.

  • amazing fim.. watched it the other day

  • This is the best song, its Sigur Rós - Hoppípolla (Heima).
