im just starting to do digital painting, i need to ask, are values really important? or can i just start painting with the basic colour scheme then sort out lighting and composition?
When adding color using a less than 100 opacity method, does the saturation automatically drop in the image? For example, if you use a 40% opacity green, does PS grey down the strokes versus using a 100% opacity green and picking the color you wish to use? I'm trying to pinpoint why my images tend to get really muddy. I think I've watched all your videos to date, and you've been a great help! Thanks!
@evesweater Let's put this this way. If you hesitate, it won't be clear. If you have that problem, try using solid 80-100% opacity, avoid soft brush, and stop noodling in one spot for too long.
You've probably already answered this a hundred time over, but I would really like to know what your preferred method is for blending colors during the rendering process. Thanks in advance and great work.
hey, i just want to know on how the layer system and the shading system works, cuz im new to the whole photoshop thing. It would help ALOT if u responded
@mattonacid I will send you some useful articles. Check your inbox. Make sure you play around with Photoshop a few hours a day at least to get accustom to it.
Hey dude i have a tablet but i can't paint on it realistically but i can draw in pencil quite well. can i become a concept artist if pencil is my artistic medium?
@jmacksoni You can only wish. I guess you can back in the 90's Nowadays movies and video games require digital mediums and it is very competitive. Good luck. ;-)
@jmacksoni I don't know, depending on what kind of tablet and software you have. Some tablet has no pressure sensitive. You have to find that out yourself.
I've been planning to buy a wacom tablet now.... what tablet would you recommend for a biginner with a bit low budget (150-200$) ... would Bambo Fun Tablet would do a good job?
I've been watching your tutorials for a while now and they are really helpful, thank you!
What really astonishes me is your drawing style. It's kinda scribbly but you also manage to point out the important parts of the picture, you guide the eye of the viewer. That very good, because I think you also save time by using this technique.
thank`s this was very useful , i would like to have that pallet ..
mabey someone asked already ,
before you started coloring, you put in a overlay? i tryed with bucket fill and than 50% , but the result never turnes out the way i want to,..when you do it it seems so easy..do you have a tutorial for that?
@linda21feb Your question is simple but yet you make it sounds too complex. Yes I have over 100 of tutorials on my channel and my blog. Have you read and watch them all? Shapes, values, and edges.
@linda21feb he started monochromatic and used a blue color on overlay in the background to get more color,
other than that the other coloring is done on normal, with 70-80% opacity.
basically you start in a monochromatic tone, and the background is also beige-ish, but you want it blue. then you use overlay with blue (like Xia did) and it will make it blue, without having to change the values.
@plateker yep you can, i could direct you to some of the things I have done with a mouse. I have been using a mouse ever since I started digital drawing and people say my drawings look good. "Because a carpenter has the best tools doesn't mean he is the best carpenter" :)
@zxgeneration painting w/ mouse - its time-consuming n not ergonomic for ur wrist.. if u wanna do this long term, be it for leisure or pro practice, use a pressure sensitive tablet. think for ur wrist. :)
