  • Well done

  • Amazing! not F major, F minor

    This synth is really amazing!

take a look at my bliss demo too!

    Thanks!

  • 3rd chord not right

  • Is that the arpeggiator? Why does my Juno G's Arpeggiator suck so much.

  • what are the chorus chords as well? :) nice wokr btw

  • what are the settings for the very first bit i have the same synth as you :)

  • the 3rd chord is not right

  • Comment removed

  • @RexEvill its just a microkorg...

  • how much for this price...and...how much for Korg Ms2000...

    i need to know...Thanks BTW : )

  • james23678 is way better check it out u gays

  • oh fuck it's F minor not major and u wrong even the chorus part

by the way really great song really good sound

  • i love the micro korg

  • wrong chords but cool machine

  • how can he play a tri-chord and get the full arpeggiated sound from the notes all in the shape of the chord?

  • Cm, Bb, Fm, Cm

    These are the right chords!!

  • thank you!

is it so difficult to look it up in the internet?

  • nah... you can found over 1000 on the site "ultimate-guitar"

  • Two of the chords sound wrong. There's an Fm and you're missing a C major.

  • THAT MACHINES WEIRDDD

  • ITS A F MINOR

  • and the chorus...

  • The chords are C minor, B minor and A minor..

  • I play the chorus with C, Am and C/G. Sounds good.

  • i want one!

  • did you change the Fm to an F major? it sounded like that.. it was still nice sounding nonetheless...

  • something like that :) i cant even remember now! this was back in 2006

  • oh, ha. well nice werk!

  • @theman362 yeah, the fourth appegio you changed to a major, i think..

  • The chord of the intro is Fm and the chorus is G/C (arp on g-c-e -chord of C begginig at g)

The sound is cool but the chords...

  • *shrug* the original waveform's not quite correct either... at least he got the arpeggio setting right for that part. :P

  • wrong chords

  • thats cheating!

  • yeah i know lol

  • Nice work but yes the third chord is Fmin not Fmaj :P

  • What he said XD

  • cool!

  • btw, check that 3rd chord and make sure that the middle note is a b flat and not an a. =)

  • not b flat... a flat, my bad.

  • check the 3rd chord. its off a bit... how much are those synths?

  • ya i know.. this is old, i dont even have that synth any more.. i think they might be about 200 pounds?

  • thanks.

  • its all wrong not even the tone or da sound

  • Ok, i have a simple old keyboard without an apprregiator.

are the notes C, Db, G going up three octaves then down two?

This process repeated with Bb, D, F and then a low octave F, Ab, C.

Thats what i've gotten so far... is it right?

Unfortunatly there arent any videos explaining how to play it without an appregiator (sp?).

  • thats what it is. fairly easy to figure it out

  • yh, well im not great on piano either, so i was quite proud i got that :P

  • Wow they have to use this on the synth of Starlight

  • The chords is wrong.. First (in the original tune) it's Cm, Bb, Fm... dunno which tune yours is in, but theres something wrong..

  • the 3rd chord is supposed to be minor, not major. fool!

  • OMFG THAT WAS AWESOME LOL. can you message me the details of that micro korg please i really wanna get one lol oh yeah how much was it about?

  • yeah i have made some stupid comments on this and i admit that lol and it sounds awesome (except the dodgy chord) so i take back everything ive said and check mine ;)

    MUSE ROCK!

  • i love the like bassy low end sound the synth is making, awesome!!

  • i dont really play piano.. i do guitar bass and synth.. synth and piano are definitely not the same thing, i dont try and claim to be a classicly trained pianist :P im also almost certain that when they play bliss live the synth is done using an arp, so its true to their performance

  • wrong! it was not matt bellamy.

  • yeah it was, they recorded loads of bits and then stuck them together, live it is morgan that controls it on synth but recording it was matt, everything in their songs is recorded by them and not shitty machines doing all the work

  • lol there mate, you're wrong, he use's the appregos with a synth piano he got, look on wiki

  • right...juno 60

  • matt bellamy used a ROLAND JUNO 60......maaann!!!

  • Is it hell the recording that counts?! its the live performances!! but matt did you an arpeggiator, he did not play all the notes:)

  • Yeah I saw it, they even use another guy to do the whole thing on a huge standing modulator thing!

  • why on earth did this have a thumb down, its true. 8-)

  • as if its that hard to play on the piano, douchebag, its a synthesizer not a piano, dildoface. Besies he probably designed that sound on the synthesizer, which requires skill.

  • yeah. well the recording of the album version is either using an arpeggiator or quantised, heh

  • yeah i wasnt criticizing you

  • oic :P

  • Its harder to play on Piano... look it up on youtube.

  • yeh i know :p

    cheers

  • some of them chords is off bro

  • yeh i know, lots of people said already, but its an old video i cant be bothered to do it again :P

    cheers though

  • Wow that is extremely good, very similar to origional!

Our band have a micro korg and were looking to cover bliss but we cant fiind the right setting.

Could you please give us some advice!

    Thanks

    Matt.

  • use the arpeggiator, 3 octaves range... try using sawtooth oscillators with a little delay.. uhh.. trying to remember.. i sold my microkorg a while back.

yeh, just use the arp up+down mode (AT1?) on 3 octaves, set it so it latches the chords and just play the chords. try and start off on a preset that sounds similar and tweak that.

  • Thanks man

  • boo for cover bands. lol

  • What patch was that?

  • not one of the presets

  • You should do a tutorial on this.. its awsome.. :D

  • nah the microkorgs are relatively cheap starter synthesisers. about £250 which is $500 us dollars.

  • can get them for $400 in canada

  • you didn't do anything wrong, absolutely perfecto i'd say :D

  • its kinda hard to hear until i tried it out using the minor chord, but i did play the 3rd chord wrong :)

only a slight difference to hear, though. thanks!

  • wrong wrong wrong

  • if you'd looked under the comment you posted you would have read that i know how to play this properly now, and that this video is nearly a year old

i think i might even record it again just to stop people going LOL U PLAyED THE WORNG CORd

  • THREE CHORDS AND YOU CAN'T PLAY IT???

    Fm loser.

  • tbh this is almost a year old and everyone keeps telling me what i already know... so please stop repeating what other people have said, i have already said inside of these comments that a) i know i play it wrong in the video and b) i know how to play it right now... so THREECHORDSANDIWIN LOL.

    £20 in my face.

you lose. i win. soz dad.

  • Flatten the third!!!

  • i know, i know :P

  • lol ok

otherwise a very good job, especially the transition from electric piano soundy thing to full blown PHAT synth

i bum playing it a la piano tho:P

  • cheers! i dont have the microkorg any more, i decided to get a midi controller and use software synths, better sound :D

  • ah our drummers gonna do that so we can turn our fairly standard alt rock sound into something more fun

while im here i might as well do a shameless advert for the band

    POST WAR SPAIN

    myspace . com/postwarspain

    DO IT

    lolzzz

  • Matthew plays it fullout sometimes and sometimes he uses a technique similair to this. Nicely done ;)

  • if you watch muse play this song live when they FIRST started out, ( there is a vid on here somewhere ) matthew james belamy pretty much does the same, he doesnt play every note despite what most people thinks, he does what this guy did so just for that 5/5 well done

  • yeh, he also plays it about 4 times the speed, hahaha :D its quite amusing if you watch the bizzare festival footage of the first time they ever played it... sounds so wrong.

  • what synths and digital workstations ( cheap ) can create the " MUSE FLOW " in arpegios like this ? What is the name of THIS synth ? xcuze my english

  • pretty much all synths have an arpeggiator, which is what you need to do stuff like this.

this one is a microkorg.. by korg. its relatively cheap, but now im just using a software synthesiser and a midi controller.. far more versatile and better in my opinion

  • nice work, shame you didn't get the chords right in the verse

  • yeh hehe

  • didn't get the chords right in the chorus either. Still it looks like a nice little synth. I think I may purchase one!

  • shut the fuck up it is a decent synth, if you look at artists who use it how can it not to be decent you TWAT

  • Cheater. Play without a sodding arpegiator. You have chords mixed up from that.

And use a decent synth also.

  • i cant afford a decent synth, and i cant play it without an arpeggiator on here, because:

a)i have a pretty hard time playing the thing on a proper weighted keyboard (theres no hope trying to play it on the MK's small, unweighted keys) and

b)im not actually a pianist... if you check out my other videos you'll find im actually a guitarist who dabbles with synth :)

  • Hey dude! I got a MicroKorg and I'd like to know how did you do it. I barely know how to use it and I feel like I'm passing many possibilities by...

    Thanks in advance!.

  • its got the arpeggiator on... 3 octives AT1 setting... latch on i think.. cant tell you any more because i dont have my microkorg any more :(

    good luck!

  • Done!. Thanks a lot... I'll need to manage myself to achieve a most accurate sound but I'm starting to understand many things about this "little toy" we call MicroKorg. I promise to record myself giving you a video response to this thread as soon as possible.

Thanks again and keep playing. ;)

  • It aint the right chords!

  • yeah i know.

meh. i dont have the synth any more :(

so it'll just have to do. i was a bit more concerned with tone anyway, im not gonna pretend i can play keys very well hehe, im a guitarist :P

  • That was great sound homie.

  • I'm getting this beast in new year, had a bash on her in andertons and i was pretty impressed from it's size and sound!

  • whats your opinion on this versus the alesis micron

  • dont know because ive never played the micron. read some reviews i guess.

  • Basically the only main difference is this has a mic, and the micron has full-size keys. the micron's also easier to figure out w/o a manual.

  • yes, with cheap synths like this one you just tweak the arpeggiators, but with more expensive ones you can program entire sequences, that rocks. such synths as access' virus let you do this i /think/, theyre very expensive though.

  • easy as playing the right chord with the arpeggiator turned on, its a breeze.

  • Wow I have no idea how one of those works..

  • Hey dude we could really use that for a gig, could i bother you for the settings you're using to save us a some time lol! Thanks man, that's awesome!

  • yes you could bother me for the settings, do you really want them ALL?

i.e. are you actually using a microkorg and thus do you just want the numerical values?

  • Yeah dude we are actually using the microkorg, if you could tell me what numerical values you are using i would be eternally grateful, thanks dude! You are a proper legend!

  • ok ill try and get them all when i next plug it in

  • MICROKORG RULZ!!! I really want to get one..IT's the perfect Synth for the beach...(by the way...the third chord...it should be a F minor. and in the chorus part it should be a E minor (in the second part) apart from that.. QUITE a GREAT VIDEO!!! I really love the MICRKORG
