What about people that need money for an operation they can\t afford? Would you also say the same: It is your fault that you have not saved up money for this kind of emergencies!
Ahh, you opened my eyes dude! We should stop helping those poor people from Ethiopia or so. They should just get on their feet and start helping themselves! Thanks!
Ah, you opened my eyes - I should stop helping those ethiopian people. I did once in a while, but like I said - you opened my eyes. They should get on their feet and start helping themselves! Thanks!

That's why all bosses and leaders have the most responsibilities. If you can't figure out how to help out the people below you then your just taking a advantage on being on top.
I think that it's just what any family member would do is help out your other family members. If they are not trying to accomplish any goals or not working towards getting there own then that's when you should draw the line. However, if they are trying to make things happen and helping out with other important things besides income I would definitely help them out. If your the person relied on in the family then it's your responsibility in building your team and figuring out how.
You know what bothers me in that situation even more than the fact that money was given out the mooching family members? The fact that the finacee went behind her partner's back to do it. That definitely points to a larger character flaw than the inability to say no to family. I would get into pre-martial counseling ASAP. If you can't trust your partner financially you're on a downward slope. Most married couples divorce over money.
On the other side of things, the fiancee who loaned the money needs to realize that he/she is hurting his/her relationship when those kinds of things occur. Yes, the person who borrows is crippled but that usually doesn't stop someone who can't say no. Perhaps if they knew the severity of the impact it would have on them they'd be more likely to stop.
No one has the right to tell you weather or not you should make money or how you should use it. Poor people love to tell rich people how to use their money. My advice to them is FUCK OFF! Go make your own money!
I'm only going to give money to people who really need it and those people who lent me money when I was hard up. Most people have the resources to make millions, what they really need is a good hard kick in the ass.
its true. people know if youre a soft touch. you need to make a general anouncement to all family members that at this time the atm is closed and they will have to fend for themselves. the only time the exception is made is when someone is truly sick or diabled or hospitalized for a long period of time. you are not to be someones backup plan.thats why they have rainy day funds!
@mohammedabshaun boring? and stupid? this is a real situation whether you're just starting to get some money coming in or when your really getting money from your own business.I was an atm before. Boring and stupid? maybe he's looking for you to hold his hand to success mohammed.
My lovelly dad was my ATM, but now he's dead, i wish id put money back into the atm. But you dont - you TAKe from the atm. So anyone who makes themself an atm will only ever get drained of money. Its true.
My brother now sponges money off my mom, and me, even though he has way mor emoney than both of us.
If we died, he would have to stop drinking. We have no car, he has a company car. If you MAKE YOURSELF the atm, then the USERS will empty you, all the time.
Yep, thats exactly my pont - my dad was too kind to me, and he never benefited form it (god bless his lovelly soul), and my brother now sponges off me and my mom, in the same way.
But, as you say, he will never learn because he hasnt had to.
I ended up in prison because of my recklesnessness, and that was becaue my dad was TOO kind, and never beat the crap out of me, quite frankly.
ONLY when you have nothing, does ANYTHING seem easy !
@AnnoyingTypoSyndrome enablers is what its called, learn to say no without feeling guilty. There's some books out here about this subject, this type behavior, go to the library and read up. Become empowered
I agree with not handing out money but if you are super wealthy you can use this money and for example buy a vacation for you and your loved ones. But lending or giving out cash is a big no no. It only makes things worse. On the other hand without our friends and family we are nothing.
Yeah, I've been through hard times, I've never asked for a penny, but I appreciate advice. Advice is priceless!
A guy yesterday who sold wholesale stainless fasteners, gave me advice. He told me about google searches and what I should be selling and what not to try manufacturing.
He spent half an hour of his time on the phone. I was bowled over at his generosity. He was probably a millionaire too.
I've never been an atm for my family. I am not now and I will never be. Most in my family do not know how to manage money. I have more money than most in my family even though they earn more than I. I will not work for a car, boat, motorcycle, big car/suv, bigger house than I need et al. I do not keep my wealth in fiat paper money such as dollars, euros, et al. Dittos, people have to reach bottom in order to straighten their lives out( not helping people down). Lessons have to be learned. *****
I want you to make a video giving your opinion as to what defines success? In most of your videos...you seem to equate success with having money. Success has nothing to do with money at all. Success is being rich in the mind, body and spirit. Success is being humble, unselfish and showing generosity and not expecting anything in return. Money is just a glorified piece of paper with an attached value. I don't get excited over money because I came up in life with nothing at all.
It was really weird, that a member of the family with bigger paycheck asked me to back her loan, after decades of showing, how she was better in everything and richer(read:living on loans) and commanding me just because I was younger. Large amount of money was gone in a month(salary of over a year to me), so I´m happy that I said those two letters.
It is fine to share your wealth to teach or to cure. Thereby, making the person able to feed themselves and they can then join you in giving and sharing. Do not give if you cannot take care of yourself or if you are hurting yourself and especially if you are not willing. Giving is fine for all good causes. Sometimes it is better to buy the item the person needs instead of giving the money. Giving your time is the most fruitful.
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan, I'm so glad you made this video because I'm actually one of those people. I help out family members all the time and it's hard for me to say no. I never seethe money I lend because I never ask for it to be paid back. I just felt that it was a good thing to do. Like someone said below, it's OK to help someone when it's something important, but anything else...probably not good. Thanks for making this vid bro, I NEEDED it..haha.
@laoshu505000 you are right it's ok to help people but giving money doesn't help people it only cripples them, and when they run out they look for more frome someone else. I hope you can put an end to this.
I would help my family out in special cases like if they want to start up a business or they are short of university money because to me i am helping them learn how to fish.Other than that no.

Am I the only one to notice that when somebody comes to you to 'borrow' something off you, and you refuse, they get angry?
So, they're not actually asking you, but telling you, "give me it!"

I don't know who tells family this stuff and why they believe they are entitled.
Some family members are happy when someone else gets something so they can use it, example a car. Some feel you got it you so you're able.
Oprah ended up giving her family members a lump sum, had them sign something and told them don't ask her for nothing anymore its over
Until they know better ...... I keep saying a lot of old mindset that's passed down through generations need to cease
