  • Thanks for sharing the video about our city's bridge! We always tell our guest to rent bikes and ride across it.

  • @sfocp You're welcome! Cycling across the bridge is wonderful!

  • Beautiful San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. Thank's

  • my bro lives on the san fransico side

  • We went at it was extemely foggy, it looked magistic

  • We enjoyed walking over the bridge and looking over the harbor.

  • @PeterSilseth Isn't it beautiful?

  • Has a sad history of suicides, as well.

  • The bridge was grey?? You must've been looking at The Bay Bridge by mistake - which is grey and also a suspension bridge (SF side at least). Too bad you missed the GGB...which has always been painted orange.

  • Fact: The Golden Gate Bridge has approximately 1,200,000 rivets

  • @TheFactPerson Interesting!

  • Im making a suspension bridge on minecraft so im looking up all these bridges to make it look authentic, even if the laws of physics don't apply.

  • A long ways down .

  • when i went there, summer 2010, the bridge was grey, why?

  • @TheDJVAQ Fog?

  • @TheDJVAQ

I've work by the GG bridge since 1998, and it's never been grey. Could you have been wearing color-distorting sunglasses? Or been struck colorblind?

  • @TheDJVAQ You were probably looking at the oakland bay bridge, not the Golden Gate bridge...

  • @TheDJVAQ

    hahahahhh

It was the Oakland bay bridge!

    Hugs from Brazil

  • I love San Francisco. I was there last year and walked the bridge, it wasn't as big of a 'hike' as I thought. It was so much fun, and that area is beautiful. Alactraz Tour was a blast, too.

  • @Mrsilenciobackgammon Glad you had fun. I'll have to walk across next time.

  • i wish i could go to cali i h8 living were there is no atractions

  • Rice-A-Roni, the San Francisco Treat. *Ding! Ding!*

  • @NinjaGhostScorpion Haha! I remember that commercial!

  • i've always wanted to go to california.. :)

  • u didn't say that people use to jump from there

  • @Krazlo It seems a bit depressing to mention in a travel video.

  • @Krazlo Used to?? Still do.

  • I love passing through the bridge every morning on my way to school haha:p!

  • Vote for the FRisky FRiscans for the worlds best couple! on all our completed challenges! :)

  • @agforever13 Sounds like a great trip! There are so many things to do in San Francisco. Great city!

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips Yeah this is a great bridge with a lot of history, I even lost my tooth on this bridge my last trip to San Francisco.

  • Golden Gate Bridge uh.?

Correct me if i'm Wrong But .....The Bridge is Red O.o

  • @Mr360BeasTx

    Ha ha! Hello.

The color is actually orange vermillion.

The "Golden Gate" is the North American strait connecting San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean. The brige

  • This is such a good video as are all of them, i dream of goin to America and California one day and this would be the first place i would go! Thank you!

  • @xtinkerbell91x Thank you! It's great to see this is person, and so much fun to drive across. If you have time, take a walk across it on the walking path. :)

  • Great video!!!!

  • @S1E1TO5 Thanks! :)

  • i love you california

  • @icthruu4evr

Sadly, the bridge is one of the most popular places for this.

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips it is #1 in the world by far. i dont think its that sad. you get a nice last view. what more to ask

  • can someonesend me the text which she is telling , i need it for my english lesson and dont understand some words...

    thanks for helping :)

  • i surprised the bridge is still standing after all them years

  • before this was built people had to get the boat across to kentucky from california, now this makes things possible

  • As a German, it's important to me that Joseph Strauss, creator of the Golden Gate Bridge, was of German origin! Wikipedia notes it, but other than that, few people know that.

  • @prilstrudel Thanks for pointing that out.

  • @prilstrudel yay i'm part german so i'm happy :D

  • @Matteger23 Germany is great! I went to college in Heidelberg for summer 1987!

  • People remember: All happened in the baby boomers time. In our period we just bennefit of it.

  • ii Just Love Calii.♥

    Im From Hollywood. :)..

  • un saluto grosso così a tutti gli americani ed in particolare agli abitanti di san francisco. from italy

  • Thank you! Grazie!

  • U have to PAY THAT SUCKS LIKE HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that bridge is far from glourious, hundreds of people have taken there lives from this bridge, sad they wont put of safteynets to stop these people

  • Yes, this is very sad.

  • ya and more cars travel across the bay bridge on the other side of the bay

  • the bay bridge is hideous, and who wants to drive into oakland anyways? that's why the west bound upperdeck leads into the city where you get a great view of the sf skylines as you approach the city; going to oakland you're on the gloomy lower deck foreshadowing the violent crimes in oakland.

  • Just think this is the bridge Herbie drove across in the 1974 Herbie Rides Again film.

  • Wow we we're standing exactly where u did! cool

  • 120,000 cars x $6.00 each car

    = $720,000 a day

  • Wow! That's a nice chunk of change!

  • you have to pay to use the brigde? o.0

  • when i went there i was walking on the bridge when i spit at the ground not the water and it about 10 seconds just to reach the ground.. you could also see alcatraz and bay bridge from there

  • in 1936, they built suspension bridge. Wavvv..

  • also a popular suicide place:(

  • Unforunately. There is a documentary called The Bridge that I watched on You Tube. They had cameras trained on several popular jumping places and recorded several people jumping. it usually happened too quickly for police to get there and prevent it.

  • @onlycs You're right. Did you know that 32 people died from jumping off the golden gate bridge in 2010?

  • @oldblubblub That is very sad.

  • @oldblubblub well they should dismantle it then.

  • i think i'm going there in january-february next year!!

  • Awesome! Have a wonderful time!

  • thank you =)

  • HI Veronica! Have you ever thought about shooting a California Travel Tip video at the Trans America Building in San Fransisco?

  • Yes! We are going back to San Francisco later in the year for more videos! Thanks for commenting!

    Veronica

  • why is it called the GOLDEN gate ?????? bridge its not even gold its like .....redish ..or red orange

    ????????color

  • Good question! It's actually painted a color called International Orange. The bridge was named for Golden Gate Strait which is the entrance from the Pacific Ocean to San Francisco Bay.

  • unfortunately I traveled over the bridge very late at night coming from the airport so I didnt get to see it the way I wanted or the way yous do ( boo hoo) lol but I can say I was on it lol tks for the visual loved Cali will definately Be back and be sure to see the bridge during day hehe Oh and the sunsets are just gorgeous ty

  • Thanks for your comments! Hopefully you'll be able to see it properly next time. It really is a magnificent piece of architecture and quite beautiful. Take care! Veronica

  • unfortuneatly I travel it very late at night from lax and did not get to see it the way yous do ( boo hoo ) but I can say I was on it lol ty for the visual hehe

  • Living in the Bay Area and driving back and forth on the bridge, the bridge isn't that great of a thing to me. There are other great sites in San Francisco, but when the word San Francisco comes to the mind of someone who doesn't live here, the Golden Gate is probably the first that comes to mind.

  • Thanks for the comment! We're actually heading to the Bay Area over Spring Break. Can you suggest some of your favorite must-see attractions, restaurants, hotels or things to do when we go? It's great to get someone else's perspective! Take care! Veronica

  • Union Square is definitley a great place to go. Some great tourists spots are the Coit Tower, Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz. When we have family or friends visiting and we take them down to the city, these are places they really enjoy. If the visitors are interested in shopping, Union Square is definitley the place to go. And if they like theatre, the ACT theatre holds great productions. Just some ideas. I'm happy to have an input.

  • Thanks Jenin! I love Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf. We did a video of Alcatraz during our last visit, but I've never been to Coit Tower, so we'll definitely check that out. Thanks again, and feel free to send along more of those great tips! Veronica

  • Respectfully, The Golden Gate is one of the most overrated San Fran sites to see. A magnificent city all the same.

  • No worries. What are your favorite places in The City? Thanks for commenting! Veroncia

  • overrated?

  • Thanks Tim! I wish we had known about the other vista point. It would have been neat to see. Now I have to go check it out on Google Maps! We're glad you enjoyed the video. It was so cool to see it in person and ride over the bridge. Scary, but certainly thrilling!

  • Fantastic! I was here in October, 2007. There is another great vista point above the one you were at. You have to go up the road at the next exit I believe. You can see this road clearly on Google Maps. The elevation is about 400 feet higher than the lower vista area.
