GEars are retracted hydraulically and usually are selected to the up position on the command "positive rate" which is pretty much one second into the air. I have been on this B777W right at the back and I know it was the APU shutting down.
The gear on the 777 are retracted hydraulically and they dont make a whining sound. It's more of a clunk or a thud. The APU on the other hand being an engine would make more of the whiney sound at 3:00 once shutting down.
you're so lucky. i'm a flight planner and i love the 777-300ER and 777-200LR, both with designated GE90-115B engines, fastest and most powerful engine in the world producing 27- hundred lbs of thrust.
shit i cant fly again..2007 take of from spain,6mins into flight plane lost all power and droped a few hundred feet..this video nearly gave me heart failer.

Thanks for posting. I wish Air Canada had purchased the 777 years ago, like UAL did in '95. It's my favourite of all commercial airliners, with the 767 and Airbus' A340 following in at second (tied). Great vantage point of the flaps.

Have we got any B777 pilots here???
I used to pilot the 777-200ER for BA and wanted to know your opinions.
I found it to be a lovely aircraft, but no competition for the A330!!!

bass means that you have the "full" feeling and everything is filled in. Nice GE90 s though. Love 'em.

i was dissapointed that these engines didnt produce much deep bass on takeoff compared to the 777-200.

They still sound hawt though.

Air Canada did the right choice and get the Boeing B777-333ER in the fleet. It`s the best airplane that built until now... great video!

could have been a lot shorter...2 minutes of taxiing is a bit long & boring ?
