did it afect the immobiliser ecu in the front passager footwell? my mate immobiliser activated in his disco we had to leave his there overnight, sorted now running ok
It's good to see how tough these Land Rovers are. I'm thinking of buying one, having a look at one Sunday. We need a 4x4 in these parts, because of all the road flooding. QLD, Australia
and keep good parts support, land-rover parts are very cheap (in England google paddock or lrdirect) compared to toyota&co., the 200/300tdi are quite reliable no nonsense no electronics
Looked like you used a towball? Just FYI you should never snatch someone out using a towball, very dangerous thing to do. Use a Bow Shackle instead. . .
XXXXX Tips for driving in water or deep mud. 1 Wear wellies 2 Secure everything you don't want floating away, even if it's inside. 3 Become intimate with all parts of your Landie, you may be required to grope... 4 SNORKEL! (One for you too) 5 Winches. 6 Try not to give a crap about muddy or wet seats. 7 Have Fun! 8 Bring friends. 9 Dry clothes, you'll want them. 10 Hot beverage, you'll love yourself forever and it's a great bargaining tool for a tow. Live Landie and stay covered in crap! :)
@jeepfreakification How can you say that? Land Rovers have been at the very pointy point of offroad exploration since the '40s. Landies have their awesome reputation for a good reason, because Landies can. I'm not going to Jeep-bash, there's no point. Go and Drive a Defender, or even a Series. Drive it sensibly, don't go anywhere you wouldn't in a jeep and the Landie will breeze it. The only reason people have bad experiences with Landies is because they drive like idiots.
@leylandcarsloverslea Nah, a bit of elbow grease, some leather/fabric cleaner and a heater/hot week and it'll be fine! Unless it's my Landie which still slops water from somewhere inside the dash six weeks after its last dunking.
@leylandcarsloverslea See, that's why modern 4x4s are, on the whole, useless. No matter how good they are underneath, they are covered in fragile plastics and electronic crap. Could you fix a modern Discos ECU in the middle of the Sahara? No! You couldn't even do it in the middle of Dartmoor. Series III with a Rover V8, it's been drowned too many times now but all you do is whip the heads off, flush everything and whack it back together. You can be running in 45 mins.
@bok666choy jeeps are rubbish, my old one got stuck in puddles that were as wide as the wheel base of my old wrangler, jeeps don't have a locking anything so they're terrible off road.
aye you get a laugh off kids, funny cause its true and refreshing to have a comment that didn't involve words to the effect of why did you drive in there you stupid idiot
@cjohng what went wrong you've got a snorkel ...did the water enter the exhaust...man that a hard way to learn things isn't it.. i would say a really wet way..hows the landy now
just watched your video with my 3 year old who is mad on landy,s.....they say from the mouths of babes this was proved as he chirped up " daddy that big man needs longer wellies" .....priceless
dont know why people bother with such a shit 4wd. a landrover may as well be a suv

Wouldn't it have been easier to get wet trousers wading thro the water rather than opening the door and letting the water in?

@TheWierdFish If that was to a disco three, the nav would be all messed up but then again who needs that when they're going offroading.
