  • Great review. And yes, it most definitely had so much more potential. Could've appealed to more than just kids by having charts that are actually worth dancing to. From what I've seen and know about the game, the "Expert" charts are hardly challenging (with some exceptions that are arguably decent). Some of the songs in this mix from what I've heard are actually surprisingly good, it's just too bad that the game's charts don't let you enjoy them as much. And yes, so much not represented here.

  • That's definitely a good point on the difficulty. I always kinda felt like the Light mode on the regular games was a good way to get people into DDR, especially since most younger players seem to learn faster than older players anyway. It seems odd that Disney feels they need to handicap their game, rather than make it accessible to more people. Yeah, new players will have an easier time, but once they gain experience, there's not much incentive to keep playing.

  • ...awesome review, totally agree.

Are you going to make reviews on the other DDR games as well? And what other game are you planning on reviewing?

Disney Mix was off the chain, but this was just horrible =(

+5 and subbed, hope to see more reviews like this :)

  • Glad you liked it!

I don't know if I'll be talking about the other DDR games in detail since I pretty much summarized my feelings about the direction the series is taking in this video. Disney Grooves, though, is one that I kinda felt like talking about because it had potential to be so much better than it is (even by standards of a "kid" game).

New reviews are coming, though. Mirror's Edge and Sonic Rush Adventure will probably be next.

  • True, It wasn't until SuperNOVa that the series started to integrate more "American" songs into the games, DDR X was probably the worst hit =/...

....however, this year's release seems to be a good mix of American licenses AND the original DDR artists are returning for this year's mix.

I like seeing game reviews like this because i plan on making some of my own as well, but they are more than likely going to target the music rhythm genre rather than a huge variety...

    ...got any tips/pointers?

  • Well, I'm still new to this myself, but I think the best advice anyone can get for review videos is to write a script well in advance. Take your time editing it and thinking about what you want to say. It might seem obvious, but there are too many people out there who just hit "record" without knowing what they're going to talk about, and they end up getting stuck to where it becomes unwatchable. Also, if you mess up, don't be afraid to do more than one take.

  • That's true...

Well, thanks for the tips, hope you have fun making these videos! ^_^.

  • Thank you for your positive feedback, and good luck with your own projects too! =D
