wow what a waste of time and a life. Vespa crabro are important and beneficial insects!.... But you wouldn't know that.. you fail hardcore at Entomology
in germany its forbidden to do bullshit like this because hornets are an endangered species. we call some firefighters and they remove the nest but dont destroy it. but that would be too easy, eh?
The fact that being German, you would piss and moan about any species survival is truly amazing to say the least! Figures you would defend something as useless as a damn hornet... morons!
Nice!! We did something similar a few years back (late 1997) when a friend of mine hit a underground yellow jacket nest while bush-hogging. We used 4 yellow sticks of Xpak (2lbs) with an electric blasting cap pushed down the hole. It left a 5 foot deep by 4 foot wide crater in the field. Tom used to use the Xpak to break up beaver dams. Fun stuff.
Good job with the hornets!!!!! Just don't do that with a fire ant bed, but if you do, just make sure that you're not in the debris field.

HAHAHAHA!!!! Awesome!!! No such thing as overkill when dealing with hornets.
How ironic that Germany DOESN'T want to annihilate a life form.

Thanks. We did take some precautions against the would be vengeful hornets such as Leather Welding coats and Hearing and Face Protection.
