  • Oh, Mark Goodson was involved with the games for SOTV?

  • Who uses decimetres?

  • 96% of the hats were red? ROFL dumb kid!

  • This is like "The Price Is Right, obviously."

  • @carchavtube While it's true that Mark Goodson Productins was involved with the games of SQUARE ONE TV, this game is actually closer in theme to IT TAKES TWO :-)

  • if they would only release square one tv on dvd i'd be very happy.

  • I am curious. Which season is this from?

  • @NDW85 This was from Season 2 (1988)

  • This host's voice sounds familiar. What's his name (not the character, the actor)

  • Hey, Ian.

The name of the host is Arthur Howard.

Aside from a 1990 Roy Rogers commercial for

their "Big Steak N' Cheese" sandwich from that

time, Arthur hasn't been seen in too much else

    outside of "Square One TV".

    > Professor DLC

  • I hope someone out there has a full playing of a close call sketch. I thought those were a lot of fun next to Piece of the pie and Square one squares.

  • wtfaman69,

dont say that. My GF is Black, and she's smarter than me. She would have ruled on this show.

  • Arthur was a cool host. He should have been asked to host a real game show.

  • did any one notice when the girl at the end was giving her last answer she said 96% but wrote 69%

  • i think she was holding her thing upside down :p

  • i thought so too but 69 and 96 are the same up sidedown as they r right side up

  • "Close Call" was "Square One's" answer to Contestant's Row on "TPIR." At the start of each "CC" they'd ask the audience to estimate the number of something and whoever was closest would "come on down" and be a contestant. However the "without going over" rule didn't apply here.

  • BTW, "Square One Squares" was a combination of "Tic Tac Dough" and "To Tell the Truth," and "Piece of the Pie" was similar to "Family Feud." I don't think "Triple Play" was based on anything. I don't know of any game shows that were similar to it.

  • "Triple Play" was kind of based on "Wheel of Fortune".

  • I also thought square one squares was somewhat like Hollywood squares.

  • @NDW85 Square one Squares is like a cross between Hollywood Squares and Tic Tac Dough.

  • I also see a correlation between this and IT TAKES TWO. The questions on TAKES TWO were quirky estimation games like this....

  • and with the candy question, i know that when he said the # of candies in the s that was meant to be a clue, that's pretty obvious,

  • when he said how long the tutu around the elephant's waist measured 7 tenths of a meter, was that meant to be a clue?

  • does any1 remember "the $500,000 trapezoid"

  • i'm not sure but i think a clip of the format where they kept score was uploaded on here not too long ago, does any1 know what happened to it?

  • Please upload "Square One Squares"!

  • Sqare one t-shirts. thats good.

  • poor arthur he's gotta do all the moving the winners by himself

  • i mean the candy question. LOL

  • i was right on the nose with the close call question

  • Looks like they got those chairs from a yard sale.

  • 619 dots in that? Someone representin' SD back in the day?

  • Wow! What a game! I hope you can upload Triple Play!

  • But I thought that Americans mainly used feet and inches

  • They are trying to promote the metric system. We are one of the only countries in the world that use it.

  • I have the full version of this from 229.

  • Keep the Square One clips coming for as long as you can!

  • PLEASE keep uploading the gmaeshow segments from Square One TV!

  • This is so much fun! I love watching TV shows from my childhood. Please keep them coming!
