yeah the stock sounds of the exhaust on the cars are a lot more realistic...even if i lose all that hp from adding full exhaust i still prefer the stock exhausts for the sound of the real car. although there are some cars that do sound better with modified exhausts on gt5. i like to buy all 3 and test them all out and use whichever sounds the most realistic.

Sad i can´t make videos from GT5 but i can prove that in some ways the car engine sound at lower revs like 1000 to 3000 rpm sounds ALMOST exactly the same as the real cars. BUT they mess up the sound at top revs and i don´t know why really.

I tried with a simple test with manual gearbox and clutch with my G27 in some cars. And when you change at those revs (going slow of course) the cars engine sounds almost real.

Why? I don´t know really. Maybe for GT6.

Despite that i love this game.

you realize that the sounds are processed and not recorded right? If they were recorded you wouldn't get the echo's and doppler effects. for the sound to be anywhere near believable is a feat in itself.

Watched some GT5 videos with the Murcie SV, F430 and more. But every car sounds the same in the higher revs and when the revs drop down it's like somebody is waving with a star wars sword or something like that Oo" And for the people that are saying that FM4 is worse, I can close my eyes and listen to a car and say wich 1 it is. Try that with GT5.

@Lasgati44 Why is it the GT5 fanboys get so pissed off about the slightest things? Be honest the GT5 sounds are artificialy produced and sound terrible. Give me three reasons why GT5 is a better game than Forza 4. BTW i did used to own GT5 before my PS3 killed itself, an i loved it except for the sound, it is a real letdown for a good game. however GT5 is completely outclassed by Forza 4, you cant beat autovista, detail, car clubs, head tracking and the sound of the cars is is awesome

@Lasgati44 im not hating gt5... just the sound, recording sounds isnt making a game it is something put on the end. if polyphonic had spent more time on recording the sounds of cars rather than adding in a massive amounts of "standard cars" it would be a much better game than it is. if you look at forza 4 you will notice that all 500+ cars are rendered to the detail of the "premium" cars of gt5. and every car in the game was put on a dynometer and tested for performance>

@Lasgati44 > while the cars were dyno tested they set up over 50 microphones around the cars and recorded the sound so they sound very much like the real thing. it would actualy be easier to record the sounds than try to artificialy create them. for example find a video of the veyron on gt5 listen to how it sounds and then compare it to what a real veyron sounds like. i have nothing against artificial sounds when it is done properly as seen in NFS pro street, undercover and GRID.

Three reason why GT5 is better:

Real tracks are better rendered than forza(bumps ,angles,etc)

Better looking drivers in the cars, more detailed interiors...

Wayyyy more realistic reflections and shadows, especially in dashboard view...

Been playing FM4 for 2 weeks now, seems like a FM3,5 to me, with just slightly better graphics

sounds are MADE in FM series, not recorded (maybe they have 10-20 car sounds recorded)

autovista is pointless

Detail, cannot be compared to GT5, FM4 still looks too cartoonie

AI is even worse in FM4 than was in FM3

Actual career is idiotic, no need to win a race to complete season as a winner wtf

Modified exshaust sounds in gt5 are TERRIBLE!!! The few cars that actually sound pretty good like the lambo gallardo or lexus LFA are completely ruined with modified exshaust.. and I put exhaust on my classic stingray 427 and it made it sound like a friggin' dirt devil!!
