It doesn't come bundled with Windows 7, you have to download the Windows Live suite which is free for all Windows users, Windows Live Movie maker is for Vista and 7 only though.

While it's not at the level of iMovie yet, it's certainly getting there. I can pretty much guarantee that some really great transitions and effects will make their way in to Windows Live Movie Maker with Wave 4 in January/February. Live Movie Maker 1.0 is just laying the foundations, it is Windows Movie Maker completely rewritten from scratch. it should take off with the next release. Now it's just trying to be similar to the current Windows Movie Maker.

movie maker on vista sucks... I cannot use it, there is something wrong with it freezes a lot etc.... I had to purchase another program and vista still makes sometimes a regular clicks in the audio, which used to do also on microsoft movie maker... grrrrrr

That sounds like more of a hardware issue rather than a software one. Though performing a re-install would be step 1 to see if it is gone.

Nope, it was made in Final Cut Pro on a mac. Ironic yes, but at least Microsoft is open about what is used to make the commercials. Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, Avid, Sony Vegas. They're all equally good products, it's mostly preference really.

Live Movie Maker and Sony Vegas all own however I wouldn't just say that iMovie and Final Cut are jokes, They're both decent, Final Cut and Adobe Premiere are neck and neck in my opinion, iMovie is only slightly better than Windows Live Movie Maker because it has more effects and Sony Vegas is much MUCH better than iMovie. ironically, this video was made in Final Cut.
