You know what irrates me with these type of video review? The crappy on-hold music in the background. Frankly I want to hear what is said and the engine and road noise not corny music
Anyone whose ever driven a new car would know how poor the fuel consumption is for the first 5,000 KM or so of running in the engine so im surprised by the comments made by the "so called experts"on the fuel consumption..
Well most ford fuel figures are pretty accurate, so I hope it gets better as it runs in. Remember this thing's only got 1000 kms on it so it probably hasn't worn through yet
i picked up a titanium tdci this morning and the diesel is extremely quite and smoother than our old tezza with the 4L has alot of pull aswell great car would thorougly recomend!!!
You would have to do a range of testing before stating it doesn't do the 1000km per tank claimed. There are so many variances involved you cant just do a single drive to Canberra and claim it wont do it.
@bbbcreations Like stated he was on the Hume Highway at cruising speed and it still only averaged 9.4 per 100kms. Not giving the claimed 1000kms per tank. If speeds were limited to 80km/h then you possibly would achieve the claimed 1000kms per tank. Sad to say my 1994 VR V6 Commodore gives me an average of 9.6ltr per 100kms and shes got well over 200,000kms on the clock. Very very disappointing because we were considering on getting the new Territory Diesel with those figures Im not so sure now
@rottysaurus He did not start off the video on the "highway". There would have been some back road testing as seen in the video, was the tank refilled after this? I like how he starts off skidding the tyres in the gravel... that's great for fuel economy.
Did he reset the Litres per hundred once on the highway?
I do have ears, and i can hear that he stated he had to sit on 80km/h, but can you read? as i stated, back to back testing under multiple conditions is needed before one can say the vehicle 'cannot do it'.
I did a trip to recently Tarree in my old XH falcon ute, 65 litre tank, 750km, one tank of fuel. I find it hard to believe that a diesel cannot better this figure.

what does warrant the extra price is diesel grunt whilst towing. compare the petrol and diesel costs then.

Fantastic car. Wait 6 years and you will get it for around $20,000 for the 2WD diesel.

Meant to say that up until about 10 000 km it averaged around 10 lt per 100 km

9.6 l/100 km is a bit different to 6.5l/100 km....ok if you are a NSW Learner doing 80 km/hour.

The more fuel is probably due to the car being not run in

Have to say though great review :) Thumbs up for the review!!

Surely it would get better with a few more kms on it. My V8 Adventra would use about the same amount on that trip.
Not sure its worth getting one now.
