@Gwizzlez there is not a difference in hp output between pre and facelift. they are both 200hp (197hp sae) the facelift version did however receive a slightly lighter flywheel and therefor it was 02sec faster 0-100km/h but hp output was not altered.

Everyone who's driven this car comments on how it's the best positioned 'shifter' and that more cars should have it there lol.

This Civic Type R is a serious track car. For a 2.0 petrol engine its fast, and around a track it handles perfectly.

330i is only a lil bit quicker than Type R

Official figures say that the BMW is only 0.1 quicker to 60. But in the real world it has a load more torque and would accelerate smoother and with less fuss. I actually considered getting a 330 ci but they look too much like all the other 3 series beemers. And there are so many 3 series on the roads in the UK it just gets boring. At least the Civic stands out a bit!

No, i'm saying the 330ci just doesn't look different enough to all the other 3 series around here. I live in Surrey where it seems that about 1 in 5 people drive BMW's! Don't get me wrong though, the 330 is a great car and very good looking and certainly still on my 'next car' list. And i'd be lying if I said cost hadn't been a factor when I chose the Type R instead but I don't regret that decision!

In what way? I mean we all saw the 'Top Gear' slating it got but on the forums a lot of people seem very happy with their FN2s and I have to say i like the look of them. The cockpits look good as well and you get a lot more stuff than us EP3 owners! Actually the one thing that hasn't impressed me with my R is the amount of rattles and squeaks from the dash. Are the new models any better? And do you get an adjuster for the wiper speed?! Weirdly I find it really annoying I don't have that! :P

are you referring to the wiper delay adjustment? i got an 02 ep3 and the guy that owned it before me changed out the lever for one off another car that has it, but sadly no rear wiper control. i found that one from an rsx type S looks similar and has the wiper delay adjustment plus rear wiper control. i haven't installed it yet but it looks like it would work.

Yeah the delay on the intermittent wipe. It just irritates me when it's too slow to clear the screen but the next step up is too fast! Sounds like a good plan to swap them if it does work but wouldn't it also require a different wiper motor for the speed setting to function? I mean surely the switch just sends the signal to the motor box to set the speed, but I'm no expert!

well idk like i said when i got the car the previous owner had put in a different wiper control that had the intermittent delay on it but lacked the rear wiper control on the end. the intermittent delay works fine. the electrical connector on the rsx wiper control is the same as in my ep3 looking at photo's. hopefully ill get it in tomorrow and installed and ill let you know if it works if you want.

i got it in yesterday and installed it today and the delay works fine and the rear wiper control works fine. i had to pull the steering wheel off to get it in because i put in a whole clock spring assembly, but i noticed there are 2 little screws on the front where the wiper control goes and there's a slot you put a straight screw driver in and pry lightly and the control slides right out to the side after you unplug the harness from it.

i don't believe you have to pull the whole wheel to change out the control at all i think you can just take the plastic around the column off and unplug the control unscrew 2 screws and pop it out. i had to pull the wheel cause i put in a whole new reel assembly.

I've had an EP3 Type R for two years and now I've got the FN2 Type R.........From 0 - 100 mph the EP3 is quicker 16.9sec vs 17.5 But 0-60 we found both cars getting there in identical times of 6.7 seconds although the FN2 required a change into 3rd (shorter ratios)
