Nu nog een turbo zien te vinden. En wat spul voor olie systeem.
Only in Holland prostitution and drugs are allowed, and people are so tired of simple bicycles that they start building jet bicycles! Thumbs UP for Holland! Unique country in its own! Hup Holland, Hup!
@KBendix It can generate enough power to drive the cart up to 80km/h, so it gives a nice amount of thrust, but it is by far not light enough to put it on an (rc)airplane.
what are you waiting for? get a good one built and attach it to a aircraft. just make sure it is failsafe. if you know people who have access to the righ machinery then you should be able to build anything. a jet engine does not need to be very large to power a small aircraft. a jet powered hang glider would be awesome
Hey could you please tell me how much this whole project would of costed if you brought all the required equipment separately just in case you didnt ?
@illluvu my my aren't we "Homophobic". so when did ya break up???. and why did ya break up???. was it over blowjobs, buttgrease or what???. and do u think he'll take ya back???.
@SonOfDiablo No, that was just an empty tank, which just stood there. It used to contain gasoline, but was empty. At 1:14, there is no engine at all, it was only the combustion chamber with a leaf blower.
While I found this video amusing, turbos as gas turbine engines dont produce enough thrust to do anything decent with, if you could harness the rotary motion of the shaft, to drive a generator, then you'd see some horsepower being used. or a big fan...
@MrFawksii If you watch my other videos, you can see that the same turbocharger as in this video is producing enough thrust to push my kart up to 80km/h. I'm however building an exhaust turbine to get some shaft horsepower. An exhaust turbine is way more usable at low speeds than thrust.
i saw some previous videos from you and you used to work with propane?isn?t propane better than diesel as it has better thermal power than diesel. 11000kcal/kg instead of 9800 kcal/kg and it is mixed better with air? i make my own with propane, but i cant find an injector for the flow rate iwant ,can you help?
@flaps20check I don't know where you got those numbers but wikipedia says that diesel releases 36MJ per liter by combustion and LPG releases 25-28MJ per liter. A propane injector is very easy, just drill a hole almost through an entire bolt. Just far enough that the hole reaches the head of the bolt, but is not penetrated. Now drill 6 smaller holes in each side of the head and you have nice working propane injector.
@flaps20check I have some pictures, but unformtunately not from my propane injector. I used a completely different propane injector, but I heard from other gas turbine builders that the "hole in the bolt" was a very good option. cheap, easy to build and almost nothing can go wrong.

Ideal size, I don't know, but I would try something like 2mm for the central hole and 1mm for the 6 smaller holes, you can always go bigger.
@berndsen1984 i drill the bolt until it reaches the head of the bolt, but not pass it and i drill 6 smaller holes in each side so that they communicate with the central line? very clever thanks mate.could you tell me some ideal dimensions?and something else.from the flow map of my turbo its max flow rate is 90lbs/min.in gas turbines 30% is burnt fully the other air is to cold the gases.so from the amount of fuel needed to burn 30 lbs /min i estimated the fuel consumption.it is about 48 kg/hr
@flaps20check Depending on the size of your turbo 48kg/hr seems like a good estimate. At full power, my turbo used about 40l/hr of diesel. Because of the inefficiency of a turbo (because they were designed for something else... ) they are very thirsty.
@flaps20check Actually, no, I didn't make any calculations for that part. I just started with a big exhaust nozzle and worked my way down, just until the exhaust temps were not getting too high.
@berndsen1984 thanks.so the angle of the nozzle or how much did you reduce the area in relation with the start of the exhaust nozzle was made experimentally
@flaps20check I had about 5 litres of oil running in my system and because of the fact that the core of the turbocharger is oil cooled I chose a regular oil cooler from a car. It worked fine when the kart was driving because of the driving wind, but when stationary, the oil temps were getting up fast. That's why I chose an even bigger one on the project I an currently working on.
hi, i have bought a turbo charger watching home made jet engines. i know its working properly. but how does the turbo charger runs? is it from battery supply? or by oil? i have bought the kit and waiting to built one. plz let me know the procedures. email is fawazsadhr@gmail.com
soooo...all three injectors inject fuel inside the flame tube right at the start of the combustion chamber where the end cap is and the spark plug is located slightly further up and also inside the flame tube? more to the point how do you control the injectors and spark plugs? how fast do the plugs need to spark or can you just run a constant 12v through them? same with injectors, normally the voltage is dependent on the injector pulse width and controlled by the ecu. how do you control it?
@noskings The spark plug only needs to spark just to get ignition, once the flame is lit, the spark plug can be turned off. It works by a small electrical circuit and an automotive ignition coil, which works on 12V. The injectors are not controlled in any way, these are oil burner nozzles which are not electronically controlled. The amount of fuel is regulated, just by adjusting the fuel feed pressure.
I've been researching a little on these and I was wondering where the oil is pumped to and also I was wondering how the fuel is kept from ignighting when it is being pumped into the chamber Thanks a ton
@legogunguy001 The oil is first pumped through an oil filter, then through an oil cooler and then to the turbocharger which needs the oil for lubrication of the bearings and to cool the turbo's core.
I still don't understand your second question, are you asking why the fuel isn't burning in the fuel tank? That's because the fuel is delivered under pressure by a fuel pump, so no fuel can flow back from the combustion chamber through the nozzles into the tank.
Thank you this really helped. That was what I was asking and also you said that depending on the turbocharger you need to ajust the size of the cumbustion chamber do you know where to find the measurements for the specific turbocharger.
@legogunguy001 Also the fuel wouldn't "backdraft" into the fuel tank because there's no oxygen in the tank, so it can't burn till it mixes with the air inside the combustion chamber.
@TheMasterJ1995 The engine is always stopped by just closing the fuel valve, so no fuel can flow to the combustion chamber. It may look like i put something in front of the engine in another video, but just a second before that I closed the fuel valve.
I'm fasinating with anithing based on home made jet turbo engines but my thought of building bigger get most facinating at it if anyone out there its also thinking of big i would really appreciated and i have no problems of buying one of it samples yet i love to hear its sound i guess it makes me put more work on my proto type if anithing goes as it is in 2 year time you will all hear me
@SynfulPlaya Look at my other vids, where the same engine presented in this video is pushing a kart up to 80km/h. So yes, if build well, they can deliver some thrust.
the only down side is you cant burn all the diesel i can see it being easier to carry but if ya could i would run propane with the diesel acts like a catalyst better burn more power and cleaner emissions
@studdgage The thing is, that the diesel is giving me so much power, that the turbo as it's top. The turbo can't handle more rpm's, so no need for a better and cleaner burning fuel.
hey if you are using diesel you dont need a spark plug glow plugs will work lots better and try adding propane with it or convert to straight propane much better also the cummins turbos are really small use a powerstroke or duramax turbo get better results
@studdgage Glow plugs won't work, because they only work well in a pressurized environment (internal combustion engine). I use a propane flame to ignite the diesel. Diesel is better, because it is much easier to carry with me than some pressurized gas tank. The choise of turbocharger had much to do with the availability of money.
Off the subject it annoys me when I cant hear audio because of copyright violation. If someone wants to put a song to THIER video from a CD they already bought then do it! I swear copyright law is retarded. Another millionaire lawyer or celebrity is spazzing out because they see thier song on You Tube? Be grateful for the free publicity assholes.
Open up the gas valve, let the gas flow and then let the spark plug spark. So not simulataniously. The gas almost ignites every time the spark plug has sparked the first time. (sometimes with a small bang and sometimes with a soft sound)
where did you get the turbo and what are the dimensions of the combustion chamber. I have seen on other similar vids that the exhaust pipe was glowing causing damage to the turbo.
The turbo I acquired from ebay, it is a Cummins VT-50. The combustion chamber has a diameter of 16cm and is 40cm long. The flametube has a diameter of 11cm and is also 40cm long. To acquire a good combustion I used three injection nozzles, which have better atomisation than one larger one. Glowing exhaust pipes are definately not ok, besides afterburner tubes ;).
Fucking hell, some asshole has claimed my audio, being the Firestarter - The Prodigy. That's correct, that was the song I used in this video. I bought the freaking song from the store man, what a bullshit. That was the last time I ever bought songs from the Prodigy again.
yeah, ok it was a bit foolish, but is was an awesome experience! Now it is running on the go-kart and is coming together nicely, it does about 80km/h (50mph)
A good jet, nice work. What are the nozzles from, an oil fired boiler? Is the perforated core of the combustion chamber critical in dimensions and what is the function of that part? Is it reving at a much higher speed than the turbo was designed for?
Yes, the nozzles are from an oil burning furnace. The flametube (perforated core) is a little critical in dimensions yes. It depends on the mass flow of the turbocharger and on what fuel you want to burn. The function is the slow down the incoming fast moving air, to let the flame burn in the most efficient way. The turbo is not reving at much higher speeds it was designed for, although it revs way above it would do on a truck. Max 66000rpm (safe limit)
Yes, it is indeed an automotive ignition system. I can be kept this simple, because I only have to ignite gas (LPG, propane). I use this gasflame as igniter for the diesel, which I inject later.
I never kept expenses, but I think it is close to 1200usd, including everything, like the leafblower, tanks, pumps, go-kart, injectors, steel and tools.
dude im a REAL beginner to all this tech stuff since im taking classes on this. Im just wondering, can't you just yank the parts off cars in a junkyard for cheaper?, except for spark plugs, oil filters, etc... i jus wanna know
For a starter, you can use lots of parts from cars. My first engine was build from almost only car parts, but the bigger you go, the more you have build yourself or buy. I got my first engine running with less then 100USD (70euro). I learnt all this stuff with lots of reading from internet and general interest.
Yes definately, the blue and red section only indicate the 'cool' zone and 'hot' zone of the gasturbine. The cold air is compressed by the compressor of the turbo, then transported to the combustion chamber, where, in the flametube, fuel is ignited (red zone), so the air/fuel mix is expanding and pushed through the exhaust turbine, which drives the compressor at the front.
I got my 12v oil pump from e-bay, it is normally used to as extra oil pump for gearboxes. It can deliver over 60psi of oil pressure with hot oil, which is enough.
That's awesome ! Do you know if more pumps are available or who the seller was ? Can I ask what you paid for the pump ? Again, great video of your awesome turbine. -Jace
how do you find the correct amount of fuel to feed the engine? In theroy if you keep adding lager amounts of fuel would the engine not run away with its self. i am lookin to built a Valveless pulse, but this is a lot closer to the real thing and a lot more intersting
You can do calculations with the size of the inducer, compressor efficiency and mass flow. But I didn't do that, because a lot more people use this exact type of turbocharger, so I could just use their values. And yes, when added more fuel, the engine blows itself (not only in theory). That's why I use a rpm counter.
The high speed bearings, fins and shaft is the hard part in such a hot enviroment. Basically it's two chambers with a fan in each tied by a bearing held shaft - exhaust in one side turns that fin that also turns the other fan for the intake which compresses the intake air. Sort of like a turbocharger but driven from wasted exhaust gasses instead of using horsepower from the engine by a belt.
I mean sort of like a supercharger above, the blower on top of a race engine. Also the exhaust side of the turbo is the combustion side as you can see in the pics. The intake side is too thin to handle the heat of either engine exhaust on a diesel or combustion on this setup.
Diesel truck salvage yards are best, or as mentioned you might score ok on eBay. Not all big trucks have turbos though - if they do it will be mounted where the exhaust and intake meet on the side.
Very nice work. Do you have any schematics of the overall turbocharger+fuel supply & control system, or can u refer me to where I can find it?
Are you an engineer do you do any calculations to determine dimention and design of the various components or do you just do it by experientation and trial and error?
I do have some drawings, but not digital. You can search google for DIY turbines and you can find a lot of info.
I'm not yet an engineer (studying electrical engineering). Most of the design has been done with help of a program (Jet - Spec), internet and a lot has been done with trail and error.
You mean, you want to buy it?, sorry the bike is out of operation and I am currently building a jet-kart from the pieces from the bike, but maybe, when the kart is finished, I'll sell it one day.
I bought the parts for: 100 for the turbo, 100 for the rebuild, 150 for the oil pump, 80 for the nozzles, total of 150 for all the steel, 180 for the kart frame, total of 100 for tubing and fittings, 80 for the oil, 20 for oil filter, 50 for fuel pump and a lot of money involved in little things. And don't forget all the time involved in building a project like this well over 1000 dollars to get to the point where I am now).
you might want to think about some shielding for your ass, if the compressor lets go at operating speed i reckon it'd be pretty catastrophic i don't think the casing would hold.
The casing of the compressor is very thick (compressor pieces have to penetrate two layers of 4 mm aluminum) and if it blows, the parts will fly in the rotational plane and not in my direction. To prevent small pieces from reaching me and objects getting into the compressor I have a protective maze covering the intake when going full power runs.
Yes, it is a centrifugal compressor, no I didn't design it myself, because a turbocharger has a centrifugal compressor of itself. That is why turbochargers are commonly used as home build jet engines.
The price was about 700 euro to build it until now. (It is not completed yet, so still money is pumped into it). This price was until the go-gart, so all money involved building the jet-kart, is not accounted for.
No, the inlet was practically under the seat, but I don't have the bike anymore and continued to build the kart, which is coming close to completion. You can watch my other vids about the kart, because I've driven it a couple of times on the roads.
The first you need is a turbo of course, get that from car/truck scrap heaps or e-bay. Best turbos are the ones without wastegate or any pressure regulation. and the bigger the better. For construction parts you need a shop where you can get iron and steel. then you need a oil system and these parts you have to look for (plumbing bussiness). There are no rules where you can buy everything. Most have to be contructed yourself.
All the materials I used in building the combustion chamber and flametube were mild steel. The thickness of the steel was 4mm. I did runs over 30 minutes with the turbine at full throttle and it didn't show any sign of weakening, so it seems safe to use this.
The primary holes are close to the fuel injection nozzles, secondary about halfway down the flametube en tertiary at the end. Take a look at 0:40 of this video, there you can see my flametube with the three hole areas (primary at the bottom).

soooo...all three injectors inject fuel inside the flame tube right at the start of the combustion chamber where the end cap is and the spark plug is located slightly further up and also inside the flame tube? more to the point how do you control the injectors and spark plugs? how fast do the plugs need to spark or can you just run a constant 12v through them? same with injectors, normally the voltage is dependent on the injector pulse width and controlled by the ecu. how do you control it?
noskings 1 year ago
@noskings The spark plug only needs to spark just to get ignition, once the flame is lit, the spark plug can be turned off. It works by a small electrical circuit and an automotive ignition coil, which works on 12V. The injectors are not controlled in any way, these are oil burner nozzles which are not electronically controlled. The amount of fuel is regulated, just by adjusting the fuel feed pressure.
berndsen1984 1 year ago
sorry when I said ignighting I ment it going back into the fuel tank and burning all the fuel
legogunguy001 1 year ago
I've been researching a little on these and I was wondering where the oil is pumped to and also I was wondering how the fuel is kept from ignighting when it is being pumped into the chamber Thanks a ton
legogunguy001 1 year ago
@legogunguy001 The oil is first pumped through an oil filter, then through an oil cooler and then to the turbocharger which needs the oil for lubrication of the bearings and to cool the turbo's core.
I still don't understand your second question, are you asking why the fuel isn't burning in the fuel tank? That's because the fuel is delivered under pressure by a fuel pump, so no fuel can flow back from the combustion chamber through the nozzles into the tank.
berndsen1984 1 year ago
Thank you this really helped. That was what I was asking and also you said that depending on the turbocharger you need to ajust the size of the cumbustion chamber do you know where to find the measurements for the specific turbocharger.
legogunguy001 1 year ago
@legogunguy001 Also the fuel wouldn't "backdraft" into the fuel tank because there's no oxygen in the tank, so it can't burn till it mixes with the air inside the combustion chamber.

OK thanks I understand

@TheMasterJ1995 Diesel it is, so liquid yes.
berndsen1984 1 year ago
How do you stop the engine ?
in another vid you put sth. in front of the engine to stop it
is there another way to stop or....??
plz answer
TheMasterJ1995 1 year ago

So yes, if build well, they can deliver some thrust.

the only down side is you cant burn all the diesel i can see it being easier to carry but if ya could i would run propane with the diesel acts like a catalyst better burn more power and cleaner emissions
studdgage 2 years ago
@studdgage The thing is, that the diesel is giving me so much power, that the turbo as it's top. The turbo can't handle more rpm's, so no need for a better and cleaner burning fuel.
berndsen1984 2 years ago
hey if you are using diesel you dont need a spark plug glow plugs will work lots better and try adding propane with it or convert to straight propane much better also the cummins turbos are really small use a powerstroke or duramax turbo get better results
studdgage 2 years ago
@studdgage Glow plugs won't work, because they only work well in a pressurized environment (internal combustion engine). I use a propane flame to ignite the diesel. Diesel is better, because it is much easier to carry with me than some pressurized gas tank. The choise of turbocharger had much to do with the availability of money.

Off the subject it annoys me when I cant hear audio because of copyright violation. If someone wants to put a song to THIER video from a CD they already bought then do it! superfunnyman123 2 years ago
This engine runs on diesel and you are right about the fuel pump en valve.
berndsen1984 2 years ago
how do you get the fuel to come in and spark the spark plug
dozerman97 2 years ago
Open up the gas valve, let the gas flow and then let the spark plug spark. So not simulataniously. The gas almost ignites every time the spark plug has sparked the first time. (sometimes with a small bang and sometimes with a soft sound)
berndsen1984 2 years ago
where did you get the turbo and what are the dimensions of the combustion chamber. I have seen on other similar vids that the exhaust pipe was glowing causing damage to the turbo.
arronyoung1984 2 years ago
The turbo I acquired from ebay, it is a Cummins VT-50. The combustion chamber has a diameter of 16cm and is 40cm long. The flametube has a diameter of 11cm and is also 40cm long. To acquire a good combustion I used three injection nozzles, which have better atomisation than one larger one. Glowing exhaust pipes are definately not ok, besides afterburner tubes ;).

Just open or close a fuel valve, the more fuel is injected, the more power it produces (until a certain limit is reached).

mvg nick
neronick16 3 years ago
Hey Nick,
berndsen1984 3 years ago
nick
neronick16 3 years ago
mvg. Martin
berndsen1984 3 years ago
mvg nick
neronick16 3 years ago

A good jet, nice work. What are the nozzles from, an oil fired boiler? Is the perforated core of the combustion chamber critical in dimensions and what is the function of that part? Is it reving at a much higher speed than the turbo was designed for?
wheelnutt 3 years ago
Yes, the nozzles are from an oil burning furnace. The flametube (perforated core) is a little critical in dimensions yes. It depends on the mass flow of the turbocharger and on what fuel you want to burn. The function is the slow down the incoming fast moving air, to let the flame burn in the most efficient way. The turbo is not reving at much higher speeds it was designed for, although it revs way above it would do on a truck. Max 66000rpm (safe limit)

hi did you use a regular automotive ignition system or a more powerful one? Great work by the way!
bl3ach23 3 years ago
Yes, it is indeed an automotive ignition system. I can be kept this simple, because I only have to ignite gas (LPG, propane). I use this gasflame as igniter for the diesel, which I inject later.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
how much did it all add up to cost

I never kept expenses, but I think it is close to 1200usd, including everything, like the leafblower, tanks, pumps, go-kart, injectors, steel and tools.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
dude im a REAL beginner to all this tech stuff since im taking classes on this. Im just wondering, can't you just yank the parts off cars in a junkyard for cheaper?, except for spark plugs, oil filters, etc... i jus wanna know
Chrisspy704 3 years ago
and if you want to answer, where do you go to learn all this stuff?
Chrisspy704 3 years ago
For a starter, you can use lots of parts from cars. My first engine was build from almost only car parts, but the bigger you go, the more you have build yourself or buy. I got my first engine running with less then 100USD (70euro). I learnt all this stuff with lots of reading from internet and general interest.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
Sec, the blue and red section are connected together ?
pyhap2ev 3 years ago
Yes definately, the blue and red section only indicate the 'cool' zone and 'hot' zone of the gasturbine. The cold air is compressed by the compressor of the turbo, then transported to the combustion chamber, where, in the flametube, fuel is ignited (red zone), so the air/fuel mix is expanding and pushed through the exhaust turbine, which drives the compressor at the front.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
Thank you now i understand how the thing works :)
pyhap2ev 3 years ago
Not only is this a great turbine, but a really really great video too ! Very interesting ! I hope to make a new video soon to show my updates.
I have one question though: What and where did you get that oil pump ? (for the turbo bearings) Does it put out enough pressure with 12V?
-Jace
jacebigelow 3 years ago
I got my 12v oil pump from e-bay, it is normally used to as extra oil pump for gearboxes. It can deliver over 60psi of oil pressure with hot oil, which is enough.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
That's awesome ! Do you know if more pumps are available or who the seller was ? Can I ask what you paid for the pump ? Again, great video of your awesome turbine. -Jace
jacebigelow 3 years ago
You can see the pump at object# 270275819898.
You have to ask the reseller for the heavy duty version of the pump, because the pump listed is a light version, capable of 30 psi.

how do you find the correct amount of fuel to feed the engine? In theroy if you keep adding lager amounts of fuel would the engine not run away with its self. i am lookin to built a Valveless pulse, but this is a lot closer to the real thing and a lot more intersting
mikeymaras487 3 years ago
You can do calculations with the size of the inducer, compressor efficiency and mass flow. But I didn't do that, because a lot more people use this exact type of turbocharger, so I could just use their values. And yes, when added more fuel, the engine blows itself (not only in theory). That's why I use a rpm counter.

hey if any one has any idea if you can make a turbocharger please tell me
Halomaster1006 3 years ago
The high speed bearings, fins and shaft is the hard part in such a hot enviroment. Basically it's two chambers with a fan in each tied by a bearing held shaft - exhaust in one side turns that fin that also turns the other fan for the intake which compresses the intake air. Sort of like a turbocharger but driven from wasted exhaust gasses instead of using horsepower from the engine by a belt.
rhblakeman 3 years ago
I mean sort of like a supercharger above, the blower on top of a race engine. Also the exhaust side of the turbo is the combustion side as you can see in the pics. The intake side is too thin to handle the heat of either engine exhaust on a diesel or combustion on this setup.
rhblakeman 3 years ago
hey guys where do i get a turbocharger?
Halomaster1006 3 years ago
I got mine from ebay, it was the largest truck turbo I could find at that time, but there are larger ones out there.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
Diesel truck salvage yards are best, or as mentioned you might score ok on eBay. Not all big trucks have turbos though - if they do it will be mounted where the exhaust and intake meet on the side.
rhblakeman 3 years ago
Very nice work. Do you have any schematics of the overall turbocharger+fuel supply & control system, or can u refer me to where I can find it?
Are you an engineer do you do any calculations to determine dimention and design of the various components or do you just do it by experientation and trial and error?
djdelta777 3 years ago
I do have some drawings, but not digital. You can search google for DIY turbines and you can find a lot of info.
I'm not yet an engineer (studying electrical engineering). Most of the design has been done with help of a program (Jet - Spec), internet and a lot has been done with trail and error.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
Thanks. I'll do some research then. I might get round to building one sometime in future!

You mean, you want to buy it?, sorry the bike is out of operation and I am currently building a jet-kart from the pieces from the bike, but maybe, when the kart is finished, I'll sell it one day.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
no i mean how much for the parts
neidiveidi 3 years ago
I bought the parts for: 100 for the turbo, 100 for the rebuild, 150 for the oil pump, 80 for the nozzles, total of 150 for all the steel, 180 for the kart frame, total of 100 for tubing and fittings, 80 for the oil, 20 for oil filter, 50 for fuel pump and a lot of money involved in little things. And don't forget all the time involved in building a project like this well over 1000 dollars to get to the point where I am now).
berndsen1984 3 years ago
wow you rock that is awesome
you might want to think about some shielding for your ass, if the compressor lets go at operating speed i reckon it'd be pretty catastrophic i don't think the casing would hold.
franktbird 3 years ago
The casing of the compressor is very thick (compressor pieces have to penetrate two layers of 4 mm aluminum) and if it blows, the parts will fly in the rotational plane and not in my direction. To prevent small pieces from reaching me and objects getting into the compressor I have a protective maze covering the intake when going full power runs.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
This is centrifugal compressor right? Not like an axial jet engine. Did you design compressor blades urself?
bertazoid 3 years ago
Yes, it is a centrifugal compressor, no I didn't design it myself, because a turbocharger has a centrifugal compressor of itself. That is why turbochargers are commonly used as home build jet engines.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
what is the price o make a jet engine as the video?
thank u
churros4ever 3 years ago
The price was about 700 euro to build it until now. (It is not completed yet, so still money is pumped into it). This price was until the go-gart, so all money involved building the jet-kart, is not accounted for.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
No, the inlet was practically under the seat, but I don't have the bike anymore and continued to build the kart, which is coming close to completion. You can watch my other vids about the kart, because I've driven it a couple of times on the roads.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
hi.. cool vid , im trying to make one but cant find any sutible parts. do you know where i could get them or what turbo would be the best? Thanks
H2E2L2L2O 3 years ago
The first you need is a turbo of course, get that from car/truck scrap heaps or e-bay. Best turbos are the ones without wastegate or any pressure regulation. and the bigger the better. For construction parts you need a shop where you can get iron and steel. then you need a oil system and these parts you have to look for (plumbing bussiness). There are no rules where you can buy everything. Most have to be contructed yourself.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
what do you use in the combustion chamber, is the larger pipe made of iron or what? please help
tTatmosT 3 years ago
All the materials I used in building the combustion chamber and flametube were mild steel. The thickness of the steel was 4mm. I did runs over 30 minutes with the turbine at full throttle and it didn't show any sign of weakening, so it seems safe to use this.
berndsen1984 3 years ago
