  • hey haters... why dont you get an arab stallion in a world class show ring and see if you can handle it? I bet you dicks would be dragged to the other side of the show grounds. It clear NON of you know ANYTHING about the arab industry.

  • @TabbyTallCat @TabbyTallCat This video is not OLD! It's from the end of 2011! Seems like you are just as ignorant as alot of those handlers. Stop scaring the horses, stop psyching them up, and it wont be a problem! Go see pretty much any other breed being shown, and you will see stallions and mares in the same ring behaving like angels! And so would the arabian if it wasnt owned and shown by a bunch of idiots, who apparently think it's cool to scare the hell out of a poor animal!

  • @TabbyTallCat the arabian is one of the most sensitive breeds, it's also one of the most loyal and intelligent! and this is the way people choose them to be shown, in the way that to any other normal horse person makes the horse looks wild and crazy. That isnt really doing alot of good for the breed! or the horse being shown....

  • DREADFUL, absolutely dreadful. Those beautiful proud horses being abused by those ruffians that call themselves "trainers" BOOO.

  • @welshrwonderful I know. I was THERE. Ive seen this video its OLD.

    Now let me say.

An Arabian is a strong minded free willed powerful creature. When they get psyched up.. damn they get psyched up. Tell me, have you tried running with a STRONG, EXCITED arabian stallion in a ring FULL of other people, and FULL of other stallions? No? I didnt think so. Shanking is a way to regain control, and attention, dont like it? Dont buy a fucking arab yeh jerk.

  • it's sick how no one is saying anything about this. complete bullshit, it's like punishing them for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

  • Urgh. Makes my blood boil

  • Unbelievable! Check the guy out seeing if anyone is watching before he hanks his horse's head! and the judge actually blocking the handler from causing anymore distress!!! The people have absolutely no respect and don't even look as if they care a toss!

  • @mojomeil the guy stepping in between the horse and handler is not a judge, but the ringmaster, and the reason he did it, was not because he tried to stop the handler being cruel to the horse! Wish that was the case, but unfortunately NO ONE at that show gave a shit about the way these horses were shown!

  • Comment removed

  • @mojomeil have you ever shown an arab? I know most of the handlers at this show and I work for one of them and I can assure you it's not 'cruel' if the horse didnt like it, the animals is more than capable of fighting back. shanking is a way of getting attention back. Why dont you show an arab stallion in a ring with hundreds of people and other stallions. you'd last 5 seconds without checking the horse in order.

  • This makes me so angry and sad =( makes me wish the humans was never born. This world would be a much better place whit out humans....

  • please someone in germany start a petition against this shit!!

  • hmmm nice one ey how to create headshy horses :o( i am so angry seeing this and NOONE IS SAYING ANYTHING THERE NOT THE JUDGES NOT THE AUDIENCE looks like everyone just thinks this is how it should be done

  • If these horses were PRE's they would be disqualified for showing them like this this is ridiculous behaviour!! there is obviously no trust whatsoever between handlers and horses what on earth are they trying to show???? This is so stupid and ignorant it beggars belief

  • This is just disgusting... :-( What explanation do people that do this have...??? :-( Disgusting!!!!

  • So Sad!! Horrible showmanship! Judge should have kicked them all out of the ring!

  • Those poor horses ='(

  • I'm appalled. Arabs are the most loyal and dignified breed. They are the heritage of most horses on this planet. Anyone who knows horses, knows you can get much better results than whats shown in this video, using much more humane, and horse friendly ways. Some of those horses looked terrified, and some were just plain angry, and no wonder! My horse too, would back off, rear and try to run off. Disgusting display of "horsemanship".

  • not just the handlers that need a bullet its the judges as well for alowing this to happen in their show ring. as it is the arab is an incredibly proud animal as it is if neither handler or judge can see the beauty these or any animal for that fact naturally posses they all need to open their eyes. good on you for posting this video hun and an even bigger congrats to you for posting the handlers names SHAME ON YOU ALL

  • This is disgusting behaviour of these handlers ..... horses should not be handled like this. Handling is about trust and respect not fear. Your horse should be your partner

  • @cathcando It angers me so much to see that these horses give them no reason to handle them so harshly, but they do it anyways. they seem reasonably calm UNTIL these stupid idiots (MEN) hurt them. what do they think of themselves? BASTARDS!

  • Luckily, the standards in America changed about 3 years ago, and state "Excessive use of the whip and/or horses that appear intimidated or fearful of the handler WILL BE penalized by the Judging Panel, and may result in expulsion from the ring." I don't get to attend Class A shows due to my location, so I don't know if this rule is being enforced, but I sure hope it is! Such is certainly not the case here...

  • This is horrendous...

The horses are obviously scared out of their wits -_-

  • Disgraceful behaviour and should not be tolerated!

  • disgraceful behaviour and should not be tolerated!

  • Frank Spönle (#191 for Equid System Ltd, 99 for Equus Arabians)

Raphael Curti (#3 for Al-Jalawiyah Stud)

Ryan Jones (#34 for Al Muawd Stud)

Philip Looyens #45 for Al Mohamadia Arabian Horse Stud)

  • Giacomo Capacci (showing e.g. 78 for Otto Berg, 15+33+97+110+187 for Al Shaqab Stud)

Paolo Capecci (#1 for Ronan Braver, 49+66+190 for Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, 102 for Az. Ag. de Tripodi)

Pawel Kozikowski (#176, 116, 51 all for Janow Podlaskie Stud)

Gerald Kurtz (#25 for Idris Hassan)

Tom Oben (#170 for Al Sawary Farm)

Glenn Shoukens (#130 for Al Khaled Farm)

Michael Byatt (#74 for Al Shahania Stud, 5+172 for Al Khalediah Stables)

  • can somebody tell me who's number 66? horrible

  • @silversomali7 number 66(6) is the dickhead Paolo Capecci, who was also seen beating up a horse behind the stables in aachen. what a horselover he is!

  • @Malekox it's disgusting! sick. Thanks for his name, I will never forget it

  • Really.... Do they have to shank the poor horse before they set up? do they gotta show those loving creatures 'whos boss'? I don't mean to be playing the breed card here.... but arabs are SENSITIVE. These poor arabs must be suffering both mentally and physically! Where's the damn love?!? Arabians are proud, gracefull, loving, spirited creatures. NOT crazy, uncontrollable, and in need of a 'big boss'. I can't BELIEVE this is okay! I hope these show standards change, and SOON.

  • Shoot all the humans and turn the horses loose. This behaviour is HORRIBLE and should NEVER be tolerated. There is NO REASON to treat these sensitive creatures like that. I dare you to give me a whip and a rope and leave me with the handlers....................

  • that's a pathetic way to show a horse. leave the whips at the gate. you are ruining horses. i would love to see a horse put a jerk down in the ring!

  • From Michael Byatt's website "Teamed up with my good friend, Giacomo Capacci," What year did Michael Byatt say he stopped abusing horses? Giacomo Capacci, is the one showing the second horse in this horrific video.

  • I am shocked and appalled at all this. I knew it was bad. But to see it to this degree is just heartbreaking. If the second horse (shown by Giacomo Capacci ) is shown in stop and go (hit pause and play) you can easily see that the horse did not resist in any way. It was only after this idiot started the shanking that the horse tried to protect itself by trying to get away.

  • Dubai Arabian Horse Stud and Al Shaqab stud should be ASHAMED of themself for using these 2 handlers again and again!! Are you blind!?!?! Or is it more important to you, to get your picture taken, 5 min of fame! Than making sure the horses are happy. At every single show, these 2 guys come out as some of the worst most rough handlers! And still you use them! nice bunch of people you are! NOT!

  • I hate people... :-x

  • It is up to the Judges to stop this, if the handlers are allowed to continue & no doubt some of them are being awarded by winning then this will never stop. This showing world needs braver judges not to award the prizes to cruel handlers who ever the owners are or how powerful they might be. But unfortunately many judges are swayed by not such a straight culture. Lets have more Judges who will not be influenced by who the owners or producers are and only then will you see a difference.

  • absoloutly disgusting had to turn off about 40 seconds in these people need to be done for cruelty, as somebody else said theres no doubt what those whips are used for at home .. and if this is wat is done in public then god knows wat goes on at home

  • EXTREMELY poor horsemanship. These horses are responding the only way the can, in fear and anger. This is animal abuse in the loudest and vulgar form. It use this is a performance show only tips the hat as to what is going on behind closed doors for these beautiful God given animals. If this is acceptable, then why own a horse? Disgraceful and shameful behaviour towards a gorgeous intelligent animal is can and is willing to learn. Don't these trainers know animals can feel love too??

  • idiot's. just imagine what those horses would get at home :(

  • Who is the guy at 1:07 that stands between the handler and the horse defending the horse?? Amazing!!! Wish there were more of those!!!

  • @santiagofornieles a hero! <3

  • .. but why? The horses are walking peacefully beside them and suddenly the trainer yanks the chain. What for?

  • the hander in 2:25 is cruel he looked to see if anyone was watching and started

  • I love the ringmaster in this video <3 He is amazing

  • these person have no idea of body language or communication with horses. none of the horses can present themselves as distictively not correctly trained and definitevly not correctly shown!!. Pulling hard on 8-10 mm chains are vey painful to any being, try doing it to these handlers!!!!

  • Was told about this video, so had to watch. Anyone that thinks that this is the way halter horses have to be treated is just crazy. If more people stand up as owners and Judges and start excusing these horses from the ring, a lot of this abuse would come to an end. This is discussing.

  • the owners in this video are disgusting, they deserve to be beaten with whips. its sad what people will do for a rosette surely the animals welfare and respect should come first

  • Blown out of proportion. Ignorance involved.

  • Looks like the judge in 1:08 is trying to get between the handler and the horse and having a few words.

  • Wow how quick people are to judge people they have never met based on a couple minutes of video taken from 2 whole day filming of hundreds of horses! these people i can assure you are not evil, bastards or anything else along those lines but in fact very nice people, with families and children that are under pressure from owners that don't see their horses in the same way you and i do to win at all costs! this whole thing has become nothing more than a witch hunt!!!!!!

  • @cla1re100

    100% AGREE !!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @cla1re100 how do you know we havent met these people?? For your information I have meet many of these handlers, and seen them many times at shows, and it's always the same! And I can assure you that at least one of these (a person I worked for) is dickhead that doesnt know much about horses, or their needs! Pressure from owners is no excuse to beat up horses!!!!!! EVER!!! You defend this cruelty, what kind of human being does that make you?!?

  • @Malekox my horse was there I have nothing to hide!! and last time I looked the video was about shanking not the beating up of horses.....2 very different things!!! The owners may not be on the end of the lead but be assured that if they do not see these animals in the same light as you or I do they are in that ring for one reason and that is to win! some of the blame for what happens in the ring has to lie with the judges, DCs and organisers for turning a blind eye!

  • @cla1re100 responsibility lies with the people who own these animals, surely the horse's happiness is more important than a f**king rosette. it shouldn't be down to the organizers or judges to make things better

  • @katodovo the people that own these animals care about nothing more than winning and as long as the people that run these shows allow these things to happen nothing will change......it's been getting worse now for years and it's always the same horses owned by the same people that are recieving this kind of treatment in the ring, it's stopped being about the horse and is about who can have the most trophies at the end of the show

  • While you are right the owners should not tolerate it, it all falls at the foot of the judges. If they refused to pin a horse treated in such a manner or excused the trainer for excessive shanking it would stop dead in it's tracks. That head-up, wide eyed deer in the headlights is what the judges are placing and those trainers are getting it with bullying and fear. In other words its getting them wins, wins get them clients...often no matter the methods.

  • @cla1re100 regarding the pressure from owners. It's not the owners that hit and shank the horses, that is the handler's choice! So that's the worst excuse ever! They should find something else to do, than working with animals, if they cant handle the pressure, and feel they have to punish another living creature in this way! Yes it might just be a few minutes, it does NOT make it more right, they still did this! there really is NO acceptable excuse for this at all!

  • People that defend this behaviour and still call themselves horse lovers are hipocrites. How the judges can accept this type of behaviour is also beyond belief! I would also like to point out that just because a horse allows itself to be caught does not mean it trusts the person catching it. Stallions may be strong but if they are handled and raised correctly they will never need to be handled harshly.

This behaviour can only be discribed at appalling & disgraceful

  • Thats terrible. You would think they would want their horses to be shown happy.I think a happy horse would show much better than a scared and confused horse. Shame on those people and shame on the people who put on these shows to allow this to happen.New rules need to be made.

  • I was so thrilled to see the one that succeeded in getting away, until I thought about what probably happened to it after the class...

  • @hrsegirl

You was thrilled to see a LOOSE stallion in an arena full of stallions, with a dangling rope ( WHICH COULD OF HAPPENED ANYWHERE, NOT JUST AT ARAB SHOWS MAY ADD) that he could of tripped on and hurt himself with? wow.

Luckily he was CALM and TRUSTED his handler enough to let him get caught again.. If these handlers were sooooooooooooo cruel he wouldn't of allowed to be caught without a fuss.

These things happens. Stallions are strong. Let alone highly spirited Arabs.

  • This is totally disgusting. For god sake these animals are petrified and they call this showing. I cant stand the Arab show people

  • these horses are absolutely terrified! why were they not disqualified from the show-ground? if i was judging in that class, i'd just tell them to simply leave!

  • @lovearabhorses So you took the images of the ANC Website? and recropped it?

you are judging a lot of people here, you probably don't even know.

  • @HilkeDeBruycker I will let the people who watch the video judge. It should however be obvious to everyone that this behaviour is not acceptable. If you think so, I believe you are no better than the wankers in this video. I am not gonna discuss this further. The video speaks for itself

  • @lovearabhorses Well, you can insinuate whatever you want about me. At least I am posting under my real name. What are you afraid of? If you have an opinion and stand stongly behind it, you should not be ashamed and hide behind a nickname. At least, I wouldn't be.

  • @HilkeDeBruycker So tell me, why is it so important to know who I am? It doesnt change a thing, all I have done is to upload a video of something that actually did happen, footage that cant be denied, whether you like it or not. It does not require my name. This madness needs to stop! For the sake of these beautiful sensitive animals. and the day this happens, I will give you my full name, until then I rather stay anonymous, for several reasons.

  • @HilkeDeBruycker if you are just to ignore ALL the negative comments given about this video, you agree that you can just punish your horse for no reason? ifen if there's pressure from the owners, it doesn't justify this "form" of horse handling.

  • Hilke, unfortunately you deleted your comment. I am only posting what is already available for everyone to watch on ANC's website. There is no secret video footage! I see no point in telling you my name, as that is not relevant at all, and does not change anything.

  • Twats

  • SHANKERS ARE WANKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's obvious what those people have been doing with the whip behind closed doors!!! The horses should stamp on their heads!!

  • It's awful, arab showing in hand is well known for it, although you don't normally see that amount at one show. They do it to get the 'perfect pose' from them, looks awful if you ask me.

This is the reason I do ridden showing. :@

  • What the fuk is that all about?????

  • utterly disgrcefull and abusive to these poor horses. WHY are they still allowed to do this kind of thing?

  • Absolutely appalling handling...I don't understand why they are even doing this? Should have horses stripped off them and banned from owning. xx

  • What a bunch of c*nts.

  • Never seen horses looking any more scared or proffessionals looking any less proffesional

  • Disgraceful exhibition of humans lack of knowledge of horses and collective acceptance of the worst human behaviour towards animals.

All Nations Cup and exhibitors should be ashamed this handling of horses is acceptable. What is it all for? Disgusting!

  • APpaling behaviour - why treat these beautiful horses with such disrespect. They are obviously fearful and unhappy.
