I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Marion Barber is the greatest running back after Emmitt Smith, Tony Dorsett, and Hershel Walker. Actually he's not great at all. I have seen great running backs wearing the star and Marion is not a great one. He's a very good one who is slowing down.

Marion Barber hasn't even put up 4.0 YPC without having a change of pace back to spell him (Julius Jones, Felix Jones). The guy will never be able to effectively carry the load. Outside of his run against New England in 2007, most of his 'highlight' runs have come against weak defenses. The Eagles and Giants don't have a problem having one guy take him down. To call him the best back since Emmit is one of the most assinine things...ever! He's probably the worst of all starting backs in the east.

The NFL says that if anyone is to contest the Records of Emmitt then it would be Barber.. but their styles are different but thats not to say hes not as good as Peterson.. Peterson is much more like Emmitt.. Barber is like Bo Jackson.. and most would agree that if Bo Jackson continued to play Emmitt wouldnt have been all time rusher.. so in that view Barber would be the best candidate to contest Emmitts records

i think you have it backwards. unless you mean career wise. because peterson is a phenomenal physical specimen who can play football just like bo jackson where as barber isn't as gifted as peterson(like emmit isn't as gifted as bo) but both just have a tendency to pick up four to five yards a carry and just get the job done.
barber needs to prove that he can stay healthy and peterson needs to take better care of the ball

You need to change the title from "Marion Barber: The Best RB since Emmitt Smith" to "Marion Barber: The Best RB ON THE COWBOYS since Emmitt Smith". Because league wise, he has nothing on Adrian Peterson, or even LT, who it the greatest RB statistically since Emmitt. LT is past his prime now though. As for the best RB now? Barber isn't even in the top 3.

i dont think either of them should be starters. barbers running style is so physical that he is meant to be in the 4th to just run out the clock. felix is extremely fast and athletic, but im not sure if he'd be able to be a reliable starter unless he can stay healthy. quite frankly tashard is my choice, because his style is just run it up and run it hard. i know it sounds stupid, but if you think about it i think you'll agree with me

I agree with you 100% on Barbers part but Felix has every characteristic of being a great starter. Tashard is starter worthy to but i would take Felix over him. I mean every game Felix had a carry in last season he had a TD. But then Tashard had the best games out of any running back against the top defenses in the league (Shittsburgh, Philly, NYG, Baltimore). All three just make the most talented backfield in the league i cant choose lol

Barry Sanders didnt have the heart to play past 10 years, nor did he ever play with a dislocated shoulder. Barry Sanders was great in his own rights, playing on a horrible Lions team, but for as good as everyone says he was considering him as the best ever, he no championships. Fact is he was a diamond in a pile of shit. Best running back ever was neither Emmitt nor Sanders, but Jim Brown. Oh, and he didnt say Barber was better then Emmit, just the best since Emmitt left the Cowboys.

Marion Barber hasn't even put up 4.0 YPC without having a change of pace back to spell him (Julius Jones, Felix Jones). The guy will never be able to effectively carry the load. Outside of his run against New England in 2007, most of his 'highlight' runs have come against weak defenses. The Eagles and Giants don't have a problem having one guy take him down. To call him the best back since Emmit is one of the most assinine things...ever! He's probably the worst of all starting backs in the east.

Marion Barber is good, but not the best nor is he near the best. Give it to Adrian Peterson, runs harder then any back in this period. LT is a glorified product of the media and a great passing game. Im as big a cowboy fan as any but marion barber isnt the best RB in the league, I think LT is still the best right now even tho he didnt show it this yeah. Barber is in the top 2 or 3 no doubt about it, he runs harder then anyone in the league but he still has to fine tune his skills cause taking the big hit an running over guys like he dose all the time takes a toll on the body. Running out of bounds may be a pussy move but it makes a difference 5 to 10 year in the league.
