  • @jbstuf I started on this Guitar today for a person. Did you happen to find any more pictures? for reference?

  • well actually i am wrong. Its not a fender but its a kramer 5150 but u might be right :P cuz i am sure he also has a kramer 5150 :)

  • Comment removed

  • @goop2526 he had the frankentstrat, shark, 5150, like 20 random guitars, wolfgangs, and this.

  • where is the whammy?

  • Man so many ignorant comments. How about people who don't know what they're talking about try asking questions instead of making statements?

  • Eddie does play les pauls sometimes on stage he has played a white one at times. And he does own a les paul like this one he has pics with it.

  • @johnrocksoldschool his 5150 wasn't a fender. It was a Kramer. And just because he plays those styles doesn't mean he don't have a Les. Slash has SGs and Strats...

  • Eddie do have an Les Paul...

  • just cause you dont see them play these "other guitars doesnt mean they dont have them..you see rock stars get shit sent to them all the time in hopes to steer them away from whoever theyre contracted with..when contracts up, they want him to come over..and I believe a partnership was beginning with steinberger and Gibson at the time..Eddie as we know played a few steins so thats why the trans trem was on the les paul. Yes Eddie had one..did he ever play it...no

  • Eddie..although he never played it live...had a striped Les Paul that Gibson built for him, it had a steinberger trans trem...this was around 1987, then when Eddie was on the Les Paul special show playing Panama with no vocals and another band that was playing the night there backing him, He received a sunburst quilt top les paul standard given to him by Les Paul and Gibson with the date of the show inscribed on the pickguard and a gold floyd rose unit.

  • um dude i dont think he has a 5150 les paul but a fender 5150 if im not mistaken

  • @johnrocksoldschool the picture at 0;12 is eddies les paul, google " eddie van halen guitars "

  • donut city!

  • i wana do this to mine. how do you strip all the parts out and shit like that

  • yours is gay

  • I have never seen eddie play a lees paul. If anyone can tell me where can I see a video of him playing one, and also what is the name of the song on this video?

  • @contact1araya I've never heard of eddie playing a les paul...

  • its a beautiful guitar i am a collector of les pauls and i would love to have this in my collection

  • gsy

  • is the song donut city?

  • Cool, everyone does the frankenstrat. Nice to see something different.

  • actually eddie use floyd rose on his 5150 les paul.

  • ok, dude. This is a gibson les paul version of EVH's Frankenstrat guitar. it was Eddie's attempt to combine a gibson and a fender, eddie built and painted it himself

  • @goop2526 Combining Gibson and Fender is painting a Les Paul and putting in a Floyd Rose?

  • @DonXter Look at eddie's original Black red and white frankenstrat. It's not a les paul. THIS les paul shown in the video is NOT eddie's guitar. Eddie built his from scratch and his original intent was to "try and combine a gibson and a fender". You can look it up if you don't believe me.

  • @goop2526 Eddie owned several Les Pauls. If he striped a Wolfgang then why can't he stripe a Les Paul?

  • @TKG4077 I'm just saying, Eddie Van Halen never owned a les paul that has the same paint job as his popular "Frankenstrat" guitar. This guitar, this les paul, never belonged to EVH. He only owns one guitar, the Frankenstrat, which has that style of paint job. As for the guitar, it wasn't a Wolfgang. The guitar was custom built by Eddie himself. he bought the wood, carved the body, put in all of the pickups, painted it, etc. all by hand. This guitar is somebody else's les paul they painted.

  • eddie van halen doesnt own a striped les paul

  • really? you would be very surprised at some of the guitars he owns. google "eddie van halen guitars"and see what you come up with.

  • I THINK HE DOES BUT VERY RARELY.

  • yes he does

  • dude hes got everything froms basic strats to this bad ass dragon carved top guitar. his collection is insane

  • Yes, he does. He never uses it though

  • @pinballwizard1234 ya actully he does.

  • @pinballwizard1234 w w w .vintagekramer.c o m/5150f.htm

  • @pinballwizard1234 eddie may not play a les paul on stage. but he has ALOT of custom guitars he builds. just because he doesnt play it on stage doesnt mean he doesnt have one.

  • why did you buy a mini?

  • what color is the back of the neck, body, and anywhere else there isn't stripes just black?

  • in one picture it has a floating tremelo, and in another it has just a normal bridge, what the hell?

  • i think the one with the floating trem is the real one, and the one with the fixed bridge is the replica.

  • ur right

  • cause the first one isnt his, its another picture, the second one is the one he built.

  • the one with the floating trem is the picture of eddies real one

  • whats this song

  • Donut City - Eddie Van Halen

Ed did it for a movie.

  • nice work, nice video :-)

  • when did eddie pay a les paul?

  • eddie always played A LP. infact that is one of his favorite guitars to play. the white and black striped fender he made(which is now the frankinstrat) he basically tried to cross a fender with a gibson, it was a fender body and neck with a lp pickup and a gibson sticker on the head stock.

  • why is there food in the body and the headstock

  • it looks like it. but can it play like it?

  • cool

  • o.o

  • damn i would litterally kill for that guitar. I was also thinking of doing a EVH replica of a LP and seeing how it turned out in the video i think i might go through with it but just one quick question. At 0:32 and 0:51 how did u get the white outline the same width throughout all edges? this probabbly doesnt make sence but if u know what i mean please answer back. =)

  • How did you install the Floyd Rose on a guitar like that..?

  • drill holes make cavity and install .P

  • it's not a floyd, it's a steinberger transtrem.

  • cool vid, except that is a jay turser LP... I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure eddie played a gibson...lol

  • Duh

  • that is 1 sexy Beast

  • HOW MUCH IS THAT THING

  • thats sexy

  • beautiful

  • 2 strings 0:34

  • howd you do the black stripes? that part always bugs the hell out of me on the 5150 ones. =P

  • That's a sick ass guitar.

  • How to turn a Jat Turser into a Beast.

  • looks sweet but needs a floyd rose

  • he played les pauls when he recorded,on the stage he played the stratocaster

  • he never plays this though

  • lol, all you people are saying it isnt a real les paul. it is a les paul just not a gibson, and its not even a fake gibson, just another brand

  • A real Les Paul is a Gibson Les Paul. This is called a Les Paul COPY or Les Paul STYLE. A copy is not the real deal, no matter how well it plays or is constructed.

  • In some cases you might like the Les Paul Copy better. Single Cut Cortes Les Pauls with attached neck as being one example. Awesome Guitar, my friend has one I fixed up and it looks, feels and sounds great.

  • True, as a matter of fact, I agree that there are quite a few copies that play better. Edwards (not VH, but ESP factory)comes to mind. I was just saying that a Les Paul copy should be called a copy.

  • Yes, to be politically correct. Gibson Les Paul is the original. The appropriate terminology for anything other than a "Gibson" Les Paul should be "Les Paul Style" Guitar. Speaking of which. I ordered a brand new Gibson LP Standard 50's neck from Guitar Center in Cherry Sunburst for $1,710 + tax Free Shipping. . Sweet huh? :) Get em while their hot!

  • That 50's neck is a boat oar!!!

I love those. I have a Richie Kotzen tele with a thick neck, too.

  • 50's neck is nice, I test drove the 50's neck, to the new Asymetrical neck to the 60's neck, Overall I do prefer the Asymertical neck a little over the 50's neck, but not to the tune of another $800+. And I prefer the thicker 50's neck to the 60's neck. And besides the LP with the 50's neck is currently on sale cheap so can't beat it. And if I want to change it up down the line, at the price I got the guitar for I will likely recoup most if not all of my initial investment.

  • True, i've got an epi, les paul standard, basically as close as u can gt without getting gibson, and it still can't compare.

  • no way bro' Eddie is Eddie bro'

  • news/lifestyle on the gibson site.

  • then click on the first story, how to spot a fake.

  • then type counterfeit in the search bar.

  • go to news/lifestyle

  • correction

  • go to the gibson site, and type counterfeit gibsons in the search bar.

  • that isn't a real les paul....real les paul's don't have three screws on the truss rod cover.

  • lllllll

  • ...

  • That was sweet.

  • did you sand it before you painted

  • u have too

  • fuck you

  • BADASS!!!!!!!!

    5/5

  • song?

  • The song is a knock off of the band Loverboy...song is Turm Me Loose!!

  • its called Donut city and it is off the Wild life move soundtrack i think it was 83

and it was played by eddie

  • please tell me whats the name of this song in a message!!!!!! thanks a lot!!!!!!1

  • its called Donut city and it is off the Wild life move soundtrack i think it was 83

and it was played by eddie

  • i dont get somrthing...how come when u paint a frankenstratt u do the black then right after u tape it u paint is white but then for the 5150 u hav 2 paint it white then red and put paper, y not just paint it white, tape it, paint it black, tapr it, paint is red?

  • because wateva colour u pain 1st, that colour will b on the top. so if you paint it white 1st and then blak, the white stripes will cover the black ones. the reason y the 5150 is differnt is because there is only a few black stripes and its alot easier to do the black stripes at the end. and less paint means more wood tonal response

  • Ed just kinda did it as it came. He painted it black first, then did the white coat over it. After a while people were copying it so he taped it up again and painted it red. Whichever colour you start with will be the least amount of colour on the guitar. The one you end with will cover the most of the guitar.

  • I painted my own Kramer to look like Eddie's 5150 we painted mine white first, then red, and put the black stripes on last. It still turned out beautiful. I still get dropped jaws from everyone who sees it to this day and I painted it 15 years ago.

  • frankinpaul.... AWRIIIIIGHT!!

  • frankenpaul lol

  • sooo nice

  • ive never really liked les pauls but thats the coolest one ive ever seen

  • thats pretty sweet, but i think it would be cooler if it did not say 5150 on it.

  • no floyd? :(

  • this is a freinds guitar, its a jay terser mini less paul.we were just having some fun with it.eddie's real les paul has a steinberger trans trem not a floyd rose, way too much for our little budget...lol

  • it had a transtrem? Wow. I knew Eddie liked transtrems but man, I guess you put the ball end in the string claw, but how do you tune it with two sets of tuners?

  • @jbstuf forgive my ignorance but whats a trans trem bridge?

  • how did u get that white thing on the sides

  • nice ass guitar. how did u get that white outline on the sides and whats the width of the white line cuz im thinking of making a vh les paul but im not to sure about a few things

  • whats the song?? sounds like vh but i havent heard it before...

  • You didn't show yours though... You just showed the one off the website for all of Eddie's guitars...

  • This technique can be used with other arguably better colors for some cool effects--obviously wouldn't be a replica but the point being that the technique itself is a great way to refinish a scratch built guitar, etc.

  • frankenpaul

  • lesenstien :D

  • is it pretty stright forward with the pick up wiring?

  • Next you should do his explorer-shaped kramer!

  • it was amodified ibanez destroyernot kramer

  • Hahaha, where the hell did you hear that? I don't think Explorers or Kramers were even being made back then. Probably one of the stupidest things Eddie ever did, chop up the rare Ibanez Destroyer... Ed even said himself he fucked it up and it sounded like complete shit.

  • nice job, dude!

  • 1 out of only 2 of eddie's guitars that i have seen and known it actually had a fixed bridge.

  • tht isnt a real gibson les paul

    its a jay turser copy

  • that thing is sick...id do that to mine but...my dad gave it to me..

  • So lets hear it play!

  • sick

  • YYEEE nice

  • Donut City :)music from "The Wild Life"

  • That's cool.

  • Not all les pauls are Gibsons. But when you use the name les paul, you are usually referring to the gibson les paul

  • its supposed to be black, white and then red, anyhoo its fuck ugly

  • no shit its a fake....it says REPLICA....dumbshits. thats what replica means.

  • a replica is a fukin copy retard not a

    a fake

    go back to grade skool!

  • funny how this dude talks shit when he says

    "go back to skool!"...

Maybe someone should learn type before running his mouth.

  • ur a fukin retard

im jus making what i type shorter dumbass

  • To the idiot with the user name DeliSantip, Yes, because it takes so much longer to hit a few extra keys, I think the tiny fraction of your life it would take is a small price to pay for not seeming like an idiot and making it possible to understand what you type. Your inability to string together a coherent sentence which makes proper use of the English language is hysterical, I must say.

  • You, sir, are great. By the way, sick looking guitar.

  • they never said it was a gibson

  • no insted its a jay terser the cheapest guitar company ever. A real les paul is made by Gibson and Epiphone.

  • so what

  • so what

  • dude your an idiot.

  • You meant "you're" not "your"

  • spartan, i was thinking the same thing!! I have a Dean two tone dime razorback, that woud look sick lol

  • ive always wanted a les paul with a floyd rose

  • les paul gothics with floyd rose are on the market at the moment i wanna get one

  • wicked. Can someone aplly the finish to something like a Deann ML?

  • what do you use to paint it with, automotive?

  • guys that a steinberger trans trem, slightly different.

  • Is that a floyd on the final photo?

  • the final photo is eddies les paul

  • he means to ask if the tremolo is a floyd rose. i would be pretty sure that it is. as soon as floyd rose came out in '83 i think... Eddie has never used anything else

  • what about the trans trem system ?

  • oh yea that one slipped my mind in 86 eddie played that steinberger.

  • theres a floyd on the first pic too

  • should have got a real gibson, man.

  • isnt that a little stupid if willing to pay like 2000 for a guitar you wouldnt want to fuck it up

  • you could get a used one, even if the paint was tarnished horribly because the person would repaint it with eddie stripes anyway.

  • good point

  • what a awsome les paul
