Those insects might be ladybugs in the larva stage. If the are, they will eat aphids so don't remove them. Google "ladybug stages" to see a picture of the larva.
your garden is awesome, can you tell us what kinda fertilizers you use, organics? and one more question,do you just pour potting soil from the store in your beds? take care.
Thank you. I have tried a little Miracle Grow and it worked well. However, I think it made some of my tomato blooms drop...I am not sure what it causing the bloom drop. Mostly, I like to use epsom salt and powdered milk for the vegetables. Also, the book "Square Foot Gardening" walked me through the process of putting together this garden. There is a very specific formula for the soil.
The black birds are eating my red tomatoes, so to block them out, I wrap the plants in netting. I have tried CD's waving in the wind to scare away the birds and they also seem to work well.
I'm going to plant some balcony tomatoes this weekend, hope they will grow just a good as your tomatoes (That's what they are right? the size confuses me :P )
aphids will suck on the tomatoe . you can spray the plants with a homemade pepper garlic tea.and it won't harm the good bugs . there are several recipes on the internet and it works really well.
Those are some nice maters...enjoy. Like all your videos..great job.ff

Put a praying mantis up in the netting of the plants with the insect problems.

I agree with joralebedev, maybe not even connecting though. Just closer! Of course it was your first year! But now you know how well it does!

Have you thought about connecting up your boxes and making them long rows of four feet by however... it'd double your yield.

Very nice job on your tomatoes. What is the material you are using to "cover" your Tomatoes?
cjbart2 3 years ago
Thank you. I am using a netting material I purchased at Walmart in the fabric center. It comes in a variety of colors and is $.76 a yard.
