Yes, you can use the same paints. ALthough the paint might be a little thick for fine detail stuff, you can always thin it out with fasthinner. I also recommend using a primer coat first(white/silver) unless you are doing dark colors on your Gandam, then it isn't necessary. Good luck and post up when u finish!
hey man i just got my own brush and i am using it to paint plastic model kits (gundams). i was wondering if i could use the same type of paint you use. If so where can i find those bottles. o also do i really need to apply surfacer paint or can i just use a very fine sand paper to give it a rough surface that way the paint could sit nicely. please respond it would help alot
@ahinabih double action gives you more control over the paint flow. I believe with single flow you just push the lever and the paint flows with double action when you push the lever down the air starts then you pull back to make the paint flow
@ahinabih Single action is basically like a spray can...u depress the trigger the paint and air comes out. Dual action means u can control how much paint comes out along with the air.
If you pull on back on the trigger further back, more ink will come out. The less you pull back, the less ink will come out. Also, you might want to lower your air/psi.
anything above 30 psi is overkill and tends to dry the paint onto the needle much faster causing clogs ... at least that's how my Iwata airbrushes perform.
@FarmMachinist Actually, i use over 50 psi because (createx/faskolor)acrylic tend to thicken up once the cap is opened in time. I have almost never gone as low as 30 psi anymore..only if i over reduce the paint is when i can go lower..but very rare.
Hm...i don't think i ever had that problem. But then again, i usually do not pull back on the trigger all the way and try to keep a controlled spray pattern. There is, however a very tiny mist of paint that is atomized and settles on teh body. WHen that happens, i just wipe with a clean paper towel. Comes right off.
Iwata rocks...just picked up the same brush..

how do you drop the amount of paint and continue the airflow without the needle flicking a bunch of paint all over the canvas?

Can you tell me what kind of paints youre using and the mix ratio? Just getting into painting with airbrush.
mazan4821 4 years ago
usually its a 50/50 ratio. I do that with both Createx and HOK paints.
cfxpaintworks 4 years ago
wt do u mix the paints with?
nabi1976shah 3 years ago
With Createx, i rarely reduce it. But if i did, i ususally squirt once per color cup of fantastik cleaner.
