  • nice vid!

  • nice vid!

  • I'm about to lay down some oil paint for the first time ever.. so I'm being extremely anal about how I should do everything..

This pretty much did it for me.. Love how the camera follows you!

  • oil paint is so divers and seems daunting, you can dilute it, most people just starting don't think to do so but if you start with thinner you can use it like watercolours (best is oderless, it is still toxic but at least it doesn't smell so bad)

  • odorless, odourless, oder-Neisse

  • What a mesmerizing, informative video.

    More please.

  • glad you like it.

  • are you painting on cardboard?

  • No, it is linen canvas that has been prepared with raw sienna

  • question, i never use oil painting, i am an amature artist and i do it for fun, i always whant to try to use them, but they seem soo thic? how do you make them so smooth? do you use the painting knife to mixed it?

  • The paint is thick when it comes out of the tube but if you dilute it you can use it like watercolours. Choose your dilutant from turpentine, oderless thinner, gasoline, "painting medium" and lots of other things. I prefer oderless thinner. A little bit of linseed oil added to the thinner is good. But only you can find what you prefer to use and in what quantities.

  • wow sound complex, thanks, ok so let me see if i got this clear..of course the pain its thic, so i have to mixed with the ordorless thinner and a litle bit of linseed oil...and i can find this any art store...in terms of drops how many drops of each or how many tads? i really apreciate this, once i made my first oil painting i will show it to you.

  • You can dilute the paint as thin as water. Squish a little of any color out on a pallete and then dip your brush into the thinner that is in a little container. With the brush dripping of thinner mix a corner of the color and then start drawing. Or just buy a ready made "painting medium" and use that.

  • thanks alot mate, and no i rather do it myself, no premade, it destroys the enjoyment of creating and learning.

  • dude stop movin the camera...

  • art should never be rushed or told its own natural ways

  • I had to use one hand to hold the camera and one to paint with

  • The love of paint! Nice.
