After staying for 3 nights at Phi Phi i thought that was enough time spent there, it was a nice place but lacking in atmosphere its not real thailand i would recommend venturing to more remote places unless u just want to relax and intoxicate oneself on the beach everynight which is the only thing you can do on an evening. The food from the streetstalls was excellent, and if you want a bamboo tattoo you aren't stuck for choice.
You are a true inspiration, after watching The Beach last year I've always said to myself that I will be going on holiday to Koh Phi Phi in 2013 when I finish my first year of university. I plan to go with my girlfriend and I was just wondering for a univeristy student are the prices really high or are they average? I'm british so I'll be exchanging pound sterling. Also I plan to do the same as you and make some video diaries but wow this really is paradise on earth.
Thanks ! As mentioned in the video the good hotels on Phi Phi are more expensive than similar hotels in Phuket and Krabi. You can find some cheap hotels but many are of low quality, placed on remote hills or exposed to noise from the party areas.
If you want to travel to many of the other beaches and hotels away from the main town you will need to pay for a longtail boat.
Overall I think staying at Phi Phi is probably 30-60% more expensive than Patong etc.
@MichaelFrug Thanks for your help, in that case considering one of the beaches I really want to see is Maya.Do you suggest staying in Phuket at a northern hotel is the better option? Also one thing I get confused in your videos is do you use the longboats yourself or do you pay for a driver? Thanks
@CourtChronicles We are going to Koh Phi Phi in late March and into early April. What will the weather be like. We will be staying at Zeavola. How do we get to Tonsai Village for dinner and the bars/ Is this possible? Are water taxis available? Is it safe to take one at night? Does Koh Phi Phi have much crime?
Great video, really enjoyed it. I stayed at Karon Beach in 2007 and loved it. Im getting married in April 2012 and will be going back to Phuket on my honeymoon. Im just undecided exactly where we are going to go. IM stuck between Phi Phi, Kata Beach of half and half. We will be there in mid to late April 2012. Like i said ive been before and loved everything about Phuket. What do you think?
@wogga8 Congratulations ! Personally I would choose on of the less crowded places for a honeymoon. Such as some of the less populates beaches around Phuket, Krabi or Phi Phi. Or maybe some of the other nice islands such as Raya Island (see the video: Thailand - Phuket Guide - Beaches & Islands).
But shopaholics and partyanimals may prefer Patong, Karon, Kata etc. :)
great video!

@paigebkk
The beachparty song at 4:20 sounds a lot like some remix of "Ida Corr - Let me think about it".
