That was the Marilyn Monroe look. Martin Landau wanted to pursue the movies and they also wanted a salary increase but the big people at Paramount did not wantt to give it to them even when they knew that Barabara Bain was one of the reasons why people watched this show. Paramount even offered barbara her own show if they continued with MI but no go and they just decided not to show up for makeup and wardrobe. Big mistake in the end because she had a hard time finding work
She looks sad! I think she took the brunt of a war that was not hers but that of her husband. As he left the series that gave him fame and, eventually, they divorced. That's life. But if I had not left Mission Impossible maybe not have played at Space 1999 (a series I love) or had not founded BookPALS. I think in the end, she and us wins. Gracias ;-)
yes your right, the problem is to get there you have to go through a lot of pain, watching this to me it looks like barbra wants to take the bite into some thing or some one as she goes to the stage its a lesson every things heavenly in holly wood but what we dont see past our tv screens in our living rooms might be something else entirely
After reading the Mission Impossible Dossier...I have to say...our Barbara got SHAFTED!! GREAT speach Barbara...give them HELL!! she will always be...the BEST female spy on Mission Impossible!! Strike the music!!
Shows you can be bitchy and classy at the same time. The powers at Paramount treated her like dirt after she had made MI one of the best shows ever. And she still had the dignity and class not to trash them, just let them know what she thought of them without saying their names. Bravo!
Ms. Bain has quite a sexy strut on her as she mounts the stage to receive her 3rd Emmy. I LOVE her flip hairdo. From her words, this must have been during the time she and her husband had just left MI due to what was said a salary dispute. I confess I felt the show went downhill after they left because they BOTH were absolutely WONDERFUL as Spies Cinnanon Carter/Rollin Hand and they made a handsome couple in real life.
C-L-A-S-S-Y!!! Love how she carried herself and looked. What a beautiful woman.

Well done, BB! The fact that she could not be directly replaced on Mission: Impossible shows how perfect she was for the show.

It's interesting to see a clip from such an old Emmy ceremony. I didn't even recognize Bill Cosby at first.
