I don't understand why so many people want louis to die. Every Left4Dead character has their quirk. Bill has an obsession with ciggerettes. Coach has an obsession with chocolate. The L4D gangs met by both goin south, Bill's gang comin from the northeast and Nick's gang from the west. In L4D, The gang were trying to raise the bridge. Louis, Francis, and Zoey made it, But in the haste to get up to the bridge and away from the infected, the generator busted. So Bill sacrificed himself to face the horde(with tanks) and fix the generator. That's y it's called the "The Sacrifice". In L4D2 you can see Bill's sitting dead body in a room left of the generator
