good job guys! great 3 piece band! i'd love to hear u guys do pali gap or some band of gypsies stuff like machine gun, stop, or maybe even burning desire. that be badass!
Thanks for the great comment. I never know which songs are coming next. I have to admit, I've never heard any of those requests performed by Steve yet. But I bet they cover at least one or two of them.
This is something I do know. I would have had to put too much writing in the title to do it correctly. I only put Jimi's name because Steve is doing his version.
If you look at the "more info" in the upper right, under the 'Subscribe' button, you'll see that Hansson & Karlsson are mentioned as the original creators. You can find their version, usually right here, in "Related Videos". (it was my 1st time hearing their version and I liked it)
Even though Hendrix didn't write the song, he did purchase it from H & K not long after hearing the band perform it. I believe he paid the grand sum of $75.00 for it, in effect, making it is HIS song.
Steve using in these videos, a 1974 standard Fender Stratocaster. It had the tuning gears changed to Sperzel's and it has been re-fretted with jumbo frets, otherwise stock.
Oh yeah, the 3 bolt neck plate was changed to a 4 bolt neck plate.
omg yea amazing you really did the song justice i bet it sounded amazing live and this is also the only good cover i've heard of it. it sounds like you were playing based from the winterland performance, if you weren't you should find it its search for like "tax free winterland" or its favorited in my channel its my favorite performance of it hendrix did.
Alright! This song has been received pretty well so far.
Good ear. He said when they first learned the song, it was based on that Winterland performance, but that only certain licks and the basic song structure is all that remains and now, a lot it is jamming and trying to make it sound like Jimi doing the jamming.
Another excellant rendition of a Jimi tune by Steve and "the boys." Especially this song, which I've NEVER heard performed by anyone else 'cept the Master; a song not simple nor easy (to play)!
Also, great wah-wah pedal technique a la Hendrix; not overused like the majority of players who rock the pedal back and forth and go wacka-wacka-wacka. Not cool sounding. You have to use it selectively to accent/emphasize the notes/chords/feedback like Steve and Jimi do.
I only post these. Either he does the editing or has somebody else do it. He has told me it would be hard to see much more either way as the camera is not very good. But, I wish I could see it more clearly for the same reason too.
That was the most brilliant rendition I've heard yet. Gave me chills. You got right inside of Jimi's head.

I never heard the story of Jimi paying for the song. It must be a story from a book within the last 10 years or so. I haven't read them all.
