Stephin Merritt wrote that song, not Peter Gabriel. And I usually like Peter Gabriel, but that performance is abhorrent. Magnetic Fields is one of the bands Merritt is in, and the band with which that song was originally performed. You can find the original track on one of the three albums which comprise 69 Love Songs, which is perhaps Magnetic Fields' best known album. I suggest you pick it up because they're a great band.
