  • @FormulaVeeRacer1200 the v8 would more than likely pull away in the long run, i dont dispute that. I own an s15 with the same motor and can tell by listening. If you listen to the sart of the run, you can notice that he didn't rev out all the way and was a bit slow changing gears. Just a note - my s15 only has a 3 inch cat back - fully stock otherwise- raced my mates ve ss ute from 60 to 140 - both cars manual - we were door handle to door handle the whole time - the 200's are pretty quick

  • I know they come out onto a straight dumbass, but that's not when the ricer starts accelerating (first btw): it's still a corner when the ricer starts accelerating while having the inside lane and starting in front (so he has 3 advantages). See the video at 0:08? Who's in front? Feel free to point out when the ricer takes the lead at any time after that (here's a tip: you can't).

Listen as the timer ticks from about halfway between 0:03 to 0:04 where you clearly hear the ricer accelerate first (whilst simultaneously having the inside lane AND a head start), then pause the movie at 0:08 seconds. Look which car is ahead. Now, since you're a complete retard: when car A starts off behind car B and ends up in front, it's accurate to say that it pulls past it.

  • who cares if it's got a turbo- that 4 cylinder won that race. Only just. But hey a wins a win. And im not import bias i drive a 353 stroker windsor. Mates got a worked s13 around 350rwhp. They're a great little car. Everyones different and tastes, methods, and sounds will always differ...... Why dosnt everyone just realise, that even though the cars a very different the drivers are very similar. They love a good race, modifying, and enjoy looking after their cars :)

  • @TheGusto69 the S14 had nothing in it and im the nephew of the owner of that clubby and with that race it was 285KW as it was stock so really you can get your hopes up about that Shity S14 that isnt stock and that needs Custom parts added onto the S14 to even get close to the clubby !

  • Having owned imported and raced numerous cars the build quality of the hsv is second to none. People forget that really fast imports all have turbos because with out them the motors would not put out a great kw hp numbers. if holden put out a turbo v8 imagine the power and sales! ford did it wit the xr6t and they are fast straight out of the crate.

  • they have turbo's so they can have a small light engine and still make decent power, most japanese cars werent built to be fast in a straight line

  • I don't think there is any question about the build quality here but more the technology.

    Push rods have proven to be a inferior way of running the valve train. Twin over head cams and multi valve heads flow so much better plus the ability to vary intake and exhaust timing in order to optimise cylinder filling.

    Imagine that. Higher revs, breathes better, more power, smoother, more efficient, and less stuff flying back and foreth in the block.

    You see where I'm going with this.

  • Well I can't say regarding those matters or engines as I am not well versed on them in particular.

    On the other hand I am aware of the inherent design flaws/limits (call them what you will) of the current valve train design.

    So much more is possible with the current design if a bit of a redesign were to occur.

  • @blyndrotor Yes, i see where your going. But, you gotta take fuel consuption as a limiting factor these days with production cars. With a revised quad cam V8 (which has been done plenty of times) Vs. the 4Ltr. turbo twin cam straight 6 from Ford, id still put my money on the straight 6. Less weight, a turbo making up for any Kws or Torque the 8 might have. Currently the F6 has more torque than the 317Kw Clubby at low boost.

    The 200sx is 2000cc... whats the Clubsport? 5700cc or something like that???

    Plus it's got twice the number of pistons... Holden V8's are inefficient... they keep getting bigger.. you can make 400hp on an SR with bolt ons and stock bottom end... thats 200hp per litre.. without spending much... if the same was true for the HSV and it also made 200hp per litre with basic bolt ons it should make 1140hp... it doesn't though..
