How to use a Function Generator and Oscilloscope

volts per division setting is NOT the same exact thing as seconds per division, there on different axis...

function generator is used for variation in amplitude and frequency and as he said the waveform!

If you want to explain a scope from scratch please don't start with pressing the autoset-button. At least when working with a scopecorder in almost all situations the autoset-button doesn't help you anymore.
