At first I thought the repubs were just voting no because they did not agree with Obama's agenda but then they started voting no on things they even suggested themselves and wanted, repubs make a suggestion, Obama says OK that sounds like a good idea, then repubs say NO because Obama agreed with them. Rockntheclub 122 promises kept to date, that is remarkable not overboard as far as I am concerned because I remember clearly Obama clarifying that he would not even be able to do everything he promised in one term, and he said several time that he would only be able to make a start on some issues and it would be up to his predecessors and voters whether they were finished or not.

I am impressed with the integrity, honesty, and perseverence that President Obama has shown as well as the progress he has made considering how hard he has had to fight for every bit of legislation passed without support from many people that voted for him to do the very things that he promised to do which is why they voted for him.

balke52 the democrats have followed the constitution. The constitution give Congress the authority to make laws as they see fit unless a super majority of states disagree. Also they support the freedom and rights for all which is what our constitution is about. It is the republicans that keep wanting to change our constitution not the democrats.
What we need is a President to come in and say, 'You know what, according to the constitution, I don't have that authority.' Of course my idea of America might not work anymore. My idea of a President would be of one with principals, honesty, and passion. Our country might not be ready for real change. We all depend on the government in some way or another, and it's pretty sad.

Obama cut taxes for 95 % of Americans and that was individual, cut taxes for 95% of businesses and to date has raised taxes on NO ONE. If the dems do not renew the tax cuts for over 250K even if you make more than that you would still be paying less than you did under Reagan and many of the new tax credits apply to upper income also. My idea of a President would be of one with principals, honesty, and passion. Our country might not be ready for real change. Reagan was not popular either 42% approval because of that recession but it finally did get better then and it will this time also. Yes, I know production is down and so do the dems that is why they fought so hard to pass the Small business Act, wanted to do it much much sooner but repubs kept blocking and delaying. And the drop in revenue is WHY the dems do not want to pass tax cuts for individuals in upper income range so that they can keep the tax cuts for businesses.

For me to be a benefit I need annual growth.. For all 10 years in business I had growth, right up until this admin took office. I hope those employees find work but I fear this economy will not be producing any gainful employment for quite some time. I went from 2 trucks (service) and one construction crew of me and 2 other guys all the way down to just me. Now at 50 years old, still renting, I have the prospect of another 10 years in the field busting my ass with no help.

Dems passed pay-as-you-go and all spending has been paid for since the ARRA except for some on the unemployment extension but most of that is paid for also. Obama cut taxes for 95 % of Americans and that was individual, cut taxes for 95% of businesses and to date has raised taxes on NO ONE. If the dems do not renew the tax cuts for over 250K even if you make more than that you would still be paying less than you did under Reagan and many of the new tax credits apply to upper income also. The only reason anyone is even considering it is because of the deficit and the fact that upper income is the only ones to gain in over 8 years.

Perhaps the Governor in your state should have delegate the stimilus funding more wisely. But this recession started my friend BEFORE Obama, and this recovery compares extremely favorably with recoveries under republicans. There is no such thing as instant recovery from a bad recession. Guitarplayer4real, you need to do some checking on your numbers, I do know the corporate tax rates and the highest is38% for those making less than 18 M 35% for over 18Million, and after deductions most corporations wind up paying 10 to 25 % max and any small business that pays more than that needs a new tax accountant.

Under republican ideology too much of our infrastructure and to many national landmark bldgs. are now foreign owned. Foreign companies purchased our manufacturing industries in order get a corner on the market here and then opened factories in their countries to supply that market and shut down factories here. @barsense No, thats what criminals have done for America. Like I said, it does need to be cleaned up but I still support free trade as an ideaology absolutely. The laws in place to keep me honest are not the same laws in practice to keep blue collar out of my pocket and yours. Since when does some drastic political swing suddenly remove the criminal element? Nope, I see more criminals and opportunity for rip off's during a liberal administration.
