Rita, keep in mind one thing. You sorta do have to show it at Sam's Club, Costco, or a similar membership-only place. Unless you're on a guest pass or something, you'll find a receipt check provision in the membership contract you signed. So, if you refuse to show it, you would be in breech of that contract.
But, as for any other pace, you're exactly right. Continue exercising that 4th amendment right!!!!
