  • his skills were better off in a circus than a football pitch!

  • Denilson is a proof that football isn't only about skills. He is like quaresma. If you want to put him playing in a complex tactic he can't

  • Denilsonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • absolutely skillful...sucha pity he was underrated

  • Also he barely played in the World Cup that Brazil won and got to the final in. Ronaldo and Rivaldo were the stars of those teams.

  • TheAbstractThinker is Scottish not English and he is correct. There is a major difference between Denilson's style of hollow flashiness and that of his Brazilian teammate Ronaldo. Who has the style and a higher level of skill and inventiveness but also had the attributes that the TheAbstractThinker listed.

  • Karai jogo mt o kara xD

  • CRonaldo wants to be like him but can't

  • ESTE VIDEO ME INSPIRA!!

  • nd plz dnt call him a undrachvr... he won the world cup 2002..Copa 97 nd also Confed cup 97 ..

    Superb player.. fantastic skillz.. :D

  • @TheAbstractThinker Denilson is Brazilian and Brazil won 5 World Cups, because that we are "show offs". I saw on your page that you're English and how many World Cups did your country win? 1, for caring about all this crap you were talking about...

  • @makarcello lol..daz also by cheating on their home ground. England displayed the worst football in 06 nd 10 WC.. CRAP..

Denilson is one of the best players to play this btfl game..nd he made it mre btfl.. :))

English players cant evn hit the cross bar in the cross bar chalge. nd lol..look at thr squad.. no 10. i thnk its Rooney.. striker cum defender.. lol.. hez so rough..bt in international matches wenevr he fails to snatch the ball he bcms fstrtd ...nd starts hitin othrz..

  • @nimbusambu your english is atrocious and you're stupid as f*ck. Who cares about Crossbar Challenges. Scunthorpe United are pretty good at them, are they the best team in the world? Also , whats all that crap about Wazza. He's one of the best players to touch the game moron.

  • @IrishRu5T .rofl are you high or something?wazza?really?rofl no hes not and hes a joke.rofl one of the ebst players to touch the game my arse.what a joke.lol

  • @M10663 Maybe I am high, but at least i'm not a complete spastic like you.

  • @IrishRu5T .ooo calling em a spastic wont disregard the most pathetic comment ive seen in years, wazza one fo the ebst to touch the game.rofl.whats wrong with britain?england made the game but noje of the countries in britain have ever produced exceptional players on a regular basis.apart form maybe hoddle, gasgoince, best none begint o c,apre to [;ayers from south america or even other euorpean great countries like italy, spain, germany, etc.

  • @M10663 Are you typing with your eyes closed? I'm finding it tricky to comprehend your sentences. On another note, your Geographical sense is a bit poor also. Ireland =/= Britain. And finally, Rooney is 1 of the best players in recent times..Carrying a poor Man Utd team to CL Finals,Premierships & cups in recent years isnt easy.Going forward,he's the heartbeat of our attack. Not his fault England always pick crap managers & they play football the wrong way,or else he'd be a lot more influential.

  • @IrishRu5T .oh please. in 08 i was c ronaldo he same in 09 in 2010 fair enough

  • @M10663 you were cristiano ronaldo in 2008? and you've changed your name in the past few years. Hmm, i think not. I've met the guy. He has a smidge better english than you. Nice try trying to pretend to be a celebrity, aint workin for ya son.

  • @TheAbstractThinker Maybe the reason for football being boring these day is that the world is full of people that think just like you. Football is entertainment.

  • @makarcello yeah this abstract thinker is mad and bad jus like the english squads. lol :D

  • "But football isn't about tricks. It's about teamwork, desire, skill, ambition, vision, decision making, and determination working in tandem."

That's what a person that never seen it's country win a World Cup would say. Football without players like Denilson would be a crappy sport, like rugby. One of the best players ever was just like Denilson: Garrincha.

  • this style of football is only good for youtube videos...

  • I hope denilson comes back from loan a brilliant player and I think he might start to come good with Arteta and Benayoun experienced players around him

  • @TheMybrotherisevil .wrong denilson.

  • 0:26 WTF???

    how?

  • Brazil Monster.

  • this guy under me falls when he does step overs lolllll

  • Too bad he didn't have a brain. He could have been used as a clown or something, not a footballer.

  • Made in São Paulo FC !!!

  • omg at 2:00 hes the reason i practice that move and when ur back is to a defender and you pull that move its so pure )

  • You don't see this kind of playing anymore

  • players from that era will not come back..........now is shit.....i'm not brazilian but players like DENILSON, ROMARIO, LEONARDO, RIVALDO, BEBETO, CAFU, ROBERTO CARLOS PEOPLE THAT PLAYED TO ENJOY THE GAME...PEOPLE LIKE GIUSEPPE SIGNORI, MALDINI,BAGGIO....PEOPLE LIKE VAN BASTEN, GULLIT, RIKJAARD, KOEMAN....PEOPLE LIKE CARLOS VALDERRAMA, ASPRILLA,Gheorghe Hagi,Branco, Dunga,Gianfranco Zola,Jürgen Klinsmann,Gabriel Batistuta, Claudio Caniggia,Fernando Redondo,Alessandro Costacurta, Roberto Donadoni

  • @ironchef28 di biaggio, Del piero, Kluivert, Bierhoff, Owen, Overmars, Davids,Dino baggio, Zamerano, Salas, thuram, Laurant blanc, Marcel Desaily, Rui Costa, Edmundo, Ravanelli, Hiero, redondo, Miljatovic, Emanuel Petit, Diego Simeone, Sebastian Veron list goss on:)

  • One of the best dribblers who actually juked people and not just for show.

  • He never used his right foot, ever, EVER!!

  • @Dominoes911 just like me lol

  • lucas e denilson sao parecidos

  • Comment removed

  • lucas from Sao Paulo = the next denilson, check him out

  • Denilson is the best ^^ !!!

  • i waz named after him

  • Dj Deaannnn!!!!!!!!!!

  • He had packs of potential and with skills to ease pass defenders but maybe he lack of the footballing mentality and teamwork. Xavi can beat all these fanciful stuffs with just one magic pass.

  • @k80sg .lol xavi?hes nothing compared to the master laudurp.

  • This guy was what football is all about - fun. Unlike the money-hungry, glory-hunting players of today.Keep your Messi's and Ronaldo's.Give me more players like Denilson.

  • 1:59 fodão

  • He was born in the wrong era, his style would have suited the brazil of the 50s and 60s (a la garrincha).

  • amazing player when the futbol of brazil and from that era was the magia

  • please..whats the name of the song?

  • IRREVERENTE>>>

Só faltou o drible desconsertante no Puyol:::::

  • IRREVERENTE>>>

  • Alzi la mano chi ha conosciuto Denilson grazie a "Così è la vita".

  • on some real shit no one is ever gonna have ball control like him even ronalde r9 and i mean it ask r9 himself he said it when they were both at their best

  • ones the most expensive soccer player

  • DENILSON O MELHOR, ATE HOJE ACHO KKKKKKKKKKK

  • denilson...unico...pero casi nadie lo recuerda...pero que crack que era....

  • ohh you missed his "tunel" ( (between the legs)how you call it? ) against paraguay i think in copa america

    wow that was some move

  • like ppl say here, he was good..actually very good but lacked that edge to win games

like rivaldo had, ronaldo da lima

he had the tricks, but nothing else

    betis best years

  • Are you guys stupid? He was created as a player to waste time. The only reason he isn't known to the outside world is because of unlucky club choices. Players like him and Ortega have the talent and skill to be the best, but didn't cut it because they were simply unlucky.

  • Comment removed

  • If he focused on Goalscoring as well, he would have been the best. But he still stands as a great footballer.

  • futebol, arte, musica, poesia

  • He was essentially a freestyler who played at professional level.

But he wasn't a footballer. He lacked that competitive edge and desire to win that all good players have. He was a showman and an entertainer, a show off, who was bored when he wasn't on the ball.

But football isn't about tricks. It's about teamwork, desire, skill, ambition, vision, decision making, and determination working in tandem. Those are the qualties of a great player.

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 : At least he isn't the "pointer dog" who only runs forward -- Steve McManaman!!!

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 still he was worl champion though...

  • The best talent but the worst player. The nightmare for every coach and the cancer for every team.

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 true wot u say.....but his game made u smile no! and where do u think cristiano ronaldo got most of his skills from??

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 Basically just described messi as a great player, Doesent show of his skill he just scores the goals.

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 He was just an adult "boy" who played football with happinnes.... was having fun, doing what he likes to do and being payed for that....

Football it's not only about money.... it's about happinnes, fun, passion, love.... football is getting boring day after day.... because people forget about theses small details...

sorry for the bad english... I'm Brazilian.

  • @felipewylde

como eu concordo contigo...querem mecanizar o futebol :(

jogadores brasileiros, como denilson, juninho, savio, fenomeno, rivaldo, bebeto, enfim tantos me deixam imensas saudades...

é como dizes, jogadores que jogam com alegria, paixao, e que para quem assiste e pura arte

  • @felipewylde sadly...its about money nowadays...

  • @felipewylde Who talks about money? Football is about winning.

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 he was a footballer and a damn good one at that. when he was in his prime at betis and playing for brazil he was very effective and got a lot of assists. football is about the things you mention, but that is just a part of it you also need players like denilson to win you matches. not all robots like dirk kuyt and ji sung park nowadays. they are not "wingers" there a second right back with a big enough engine to go further forward.

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 You forgot SCORING ^^

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 blablablablablblablablabla

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 I share the same opinion with you. however, for me denilson is just a wasted talent.

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 Spoken like a true Messi fan.

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 Agree! He was a great underachiever

  • @TheAbstractThinker1 Fuck u talking about, football is about entertainment, and showoff, shits to serious these days, that " whenever somebody does a flip with the ball ppl go crazy like its a big thing,,

  • @TheAbstractThinker1

yeah he's just won a World Cup and a Copa America and played in one of the strongest national teams ever, what a failure.

    er...

  • always under rated but still magic feet

  • Faltou o lance dos 4, 5 turcos (eu acho) correndo atrás dele na copa de 2002.

  • Legendery Player. The Best.

  • hmm.BETTER QUALITY PLEASE!

  • Denilson FTW

  • It's crazy how he could have all that talent and just do nothing with it. Whats even happening these days? Seems to just sign with clubs and not play, then get released?

  • Simpler players like Kaka, Rivaldo were so much more effective than this stepover machine.

  • bunch of little brats complaining on this guys skills. If you were playing against Denilsons team, you would shit bricks if youd see him coming. guaranteed.

  • Denilson is the epitome of why I watch football.

    Saludos.

  • Menos vai...

    Bom jogador e ponto.

    Good player...nothing else to mention...

  • yeah, that trick at 0:26 or 0:25, that was the one i mean. BEst fake shot ever seen

  • i eman watch the 0:26 or 0:25 , 27 is acutually wen the trick ends..:D

  • Name song please?

  • he has great fints and teq but he sucks

  • @nekruz11 he doesent suck as hge yoused to be the best player in hte world for 4 years in a row which is the most anybody has ever one

  • @liv3rp00l2k1o ur wrong man!!! he had teq but he was just clown!!! remember jim at betis? he was poor, he is like harlems palyer

  • My Name is also Denilson.

  • denilson one of the best skillers football of the world

  • @fabre12torres the best :)

  • jajaja old school rocks, denilson sow what the footbol most be, he play he enjoy and he play to have fun xD, he have pasion, if you dont see the footbol like a play and you dont have fun with it you dont now what the footbol is xD, old scholl rock gogo denilson xD

  • The player that had technique but had no brain.

  • whats the song

  • WTF , like best trick ever for meh, i was totally surprised, that its not famous in top tricks videos, i mean that 0:27

  • @mYlandmine OMG lol, really, Look 0:27

  • @JJKD91 0:26 i meant

  • Ronaldinho before Ronaldinho.

  • I must to go to watch Antonio Cassano....

  • nice vid, but would be better if the euro trash music was taken out

  • His move to Betis was a disaster. This guy was a fucking legend and then He just vanished...

  • MUSIC PLZ

  • @DeviaNZe Gracias amigo ;)

  • @JJKD91 de nada amigo ;)

  • When he first came on the scene I expected he'd reach the heights that Ronaldinho went on to hit several years later, but for some reason or another he just didn't. Great player, though. Tremendous ball skills.

  • @Ashurst He was before Ronaldinho.

  • Still only young

  • HIS A VERY GOOD PLAYER WAT R U PPL ON

  • the best joker anybody can have

  • Comment removed

  • Great potential but in the era of the 3 R's and Djalminha he didn't stand a chance.

  • @Christoffski: What? Djalminha? The competition he had for left-wing was never there; early in his career Ze Roberto, Rivaldo, and Djalminha were challengers.....and they gave way to this player that flopped in Europe tremendously

  • @Gimscar Yes, Djalminha and Ze Roberto. They were better players. They had more to offer and when you consider even Djalminha struggled to get starts for the Brazil NT you can see Denilsons problem. But I don't think Denilson did flop horribly, I just don't think he was very good all round. IN any case they had Carlos bombing forward at wing-back so an out and out wide player was best used in the sub role and thus they could start players who liked to cut inside.

  • too bad he is with the brazil 3Rs together. if not he will be centre of brazil..

  • the most annoying player ever...

  • mala pra caraleo.

  • Denishow!

  • too bad...

couldn't flourisg during the era of triple R's...

  • Ronaldo and Denilson-Freaking Awesome

  • Good skill

But couldnt find a way to incorporate his skill set into team play

  • Garrincha 2.0

  • Incredible foot speed but tricks don't win matches. They are entertaining for youtube however. I saw 1 goal and 2 assists in the entire compilation. Everything else fizzled out into nothing more than a one-on-one encounter near the side of the pitch. Might explain why the clubs don't retain his services for very long.

  • @law550 he was at Betis for 7 years...

  • The compilation is impressive but the player was not. He had 1000 tricks but they rarely resulted anything. Messi doesn't do as many step-overs and fancy touches with his heels, knee-caps, and left kidney but he beats defenders consistently. Denilson... well Denilson is mostly fun to watch on YouTube compilations.

  • @idontcarewtfwhat thats so true man!

  • @idontcarewtfwhat Spot on. I mean, this guy was the one who revived the step-over as a popular move in football, but where is he now?

  • @idontcarewtfwhat yeah. its true. messi is just so famous because hes effective. he scores tons of goals and has a good overview of the game. which means he sees where his teammates r and where to pass the ball.

  • @idontcarewtfwhat dude, i think you didn't realized what makes denilson plays like this... here in brazil, a lot of players since Garrincha, passing trough Denilson, Ronaldinho and Neymar... they are blessed with a natural born ability to uses brazilian ginga to apply it in their playing style... and this is not for the money or the fame or the final result of the game, it's just for the show, the fun and the pride of humiliate the marking man.

  • @idontcarewtfwhat cuz that's why they start to play with their friends in the streets of childhood. that's what they want to, because it is in our DNA

  • @idontcarewtfwhat messi works his ass off to be that good.. players such as denilson, ronaldinho, ronaldo, pele and such showboat or play for the fun of it and still manage to be the best in the world with ease

and its not just those.. you get players which just outclass the opposition and those around them.. most of them being brasilians, players who play for fun will always be better than the hard workers.. more are coming e.g neymar, paulo henrique, kakuta..

  • @OGGrabowski if you think they play for fun without hard work than your delusional. If thats the case why has ronaldo or ronaldhino dropped form, if they still play for fun why cant they create the same stir. doing something for fun doesnt have to mean it comes easy. Being that good means you still work hard for it but you also enjoy it.

  • @idontcarewtfwhat i agree with that

  • @idontcarewtfwhat That was just his style, where Messi relies on acceleration, close ball control and dummies, Denilson relied on his skills. If he had moved to a big club he would have become a lot bigger.

  • @idontcarewtfwhat

    denilson = unreliable lamborghini

    messi = reliable toyota.

    personally, i like lamborghinis :)

  • @SquarecutK i would compare messi to a rolls-royce, considering he is worth much more than regular toyotas.

  • @idontcarewtfwhat doesn't matter, soccer is an art. Efficiency but also skills. Denilson in 97-98 was consider one of the best player on the planet, and skill wise he was, unfortunately for him he could not explode the way he was suppost to, so now he is remember just for those tricks, but that doesn't take from him that with a good coach and in a good team (not betis) he could have won at least as much as Ronaldinho

  • @idontcarewtfwhat U R a IDIOT MY MAN IF U SAY THAT :)) denilson way better then fricken messi LOL...that DORF...denilson rulez..ols school baby

  • @thecrimelord19 omg you are such a retard, i feel like giving your comment a thumbs down to the oblivion.

  • @idontcarewtfwhat I always said about Denilson - amazing tricks but he's never going anywhere. The best dribblers I've seen are Romário, Mágico Gonzalez, Savicevic, Maradona, Ronaldinho and Messi. Their incredible runs usually result/ed in a goal or an assists.

  • @idontcarewtfwhat Yeees, I agree. He showed sometime some flash of brilliance, but when one take a closer look, one realize that he was overrated. His career was very average.

  • @idontcarewtfwhat Yeah Denilson was what had bene garrincha in his time

  • @idontcarewtfwhat Denilson > messi. Brazil > argentina always. watch?v=8eZ5MCUWRvw

  • He takes too much effort just to beat one defender! Should've used more simpler and efficient movements like body feints and change of direction, not aimless stepovers. A bit like C Ronaldo.

  • São Paulo vacilou em deixar esse fdp ir pro palmeiras... joga demais

  • he was actually quite shit...

  • this guy is at the same level or better than ronaldinho...how the hell is he not a legend?

  • y the hell i jus heard of him and he not apart of brazilian legends ????

  • god the music sucks -.-
