Thats a nice mountain actually but do you know your descents and accents? Accents mean you are climbing and decent means your are flying down the mountain.
actually "accents" are what you have when you speak funny or they are the funny characters over a letter (such as é) and "decent" is what you are when you are a good person! ;-)
i haven't done it yet but would love to. I've been told that the hard part with this climb is the wind near the end when the percentages are high. But this year I've climbed the Galibier after finishing up the easy telegraphe. But the hardest col i did so far was the Glandon, its such a bitch!!!! And after the cimb i went on the extra 2km to La croix de fer then 7km more to the mollard :X That ride killed me
what I like about ventoux over the galibier and croix de fer is the decent because the roads on ventoux are so smooth and fast. definatly make the effort to climb it
@Cumbriancyclist certainly if you havent eaten enough and over estimate yourself, so after 1.45 you cant do the descent cause your back hurts like hell..
@Cumbriancyclist The Last 3km to the very top are 11-12% (Thats when you feel the worst) and its 21km from Bedoin, I have cycled it and I'm 15, It was great!

are you guys honestly that retarded... fake... no kidding. Nonetheless... wow, this gives a great impression as to how redddddiculously long this mountain is. Big grind once you clear the tree line. Awe inspiring ascent if you've got the legs.
But look at the other 2 comments about "fake", you'll encourage someone to do a "real" high speed ascent and post it + if this was just to "show cyclists the route" why the macho sound-track with a hard revving engine ?? Also overtaking cars on the last 6km isn't very smart, the closing speed of overtaking+descending cyclist would be about 100kph, with no room for error. I like your descent footage of various climbs. I'd just pull this example of what car geeks shouldn't try and do for real.
As a cyclist why on earth would you condone this? I've just come back from ventoux and did witness 2 arseholes in cars racing around the two main ascents and endangering the lives of dozens of cyclists - I think you should pull this video, even if it is speeded up. I'm not a radical cyclist, I do drive cars, ride a motorbike and race bikes, but driving at high speed on narrow country roads with blind bends is for people with very very small dicks (its a guy thing!).
Strangely enough, yes I am a cyclist. And as you clearly noticed, yes the vid is speeded up. The aim was to show cyclists the nature of the ascent. Perhaps we should remember those cyclists who shoot red lights, cycle on the pavement, etc. But then I'm sure neither of us do that. Unlike many motorists I do keep a wary eye out for ALL vehicles, cyclists included. And, like you, I find those who race around narrow country roads rather irresponsible. But there you go, you can't please everyone
Unfortunately, I crashed at the spot of 2:28, Its was ok though nothing Broken :)

Nice cheating ! I can do it in 1 min with your "accelerated video" technique!
Don't know how fast you really did it, but shure was big hazard for other cars and cyclists on the road.

I read somewhere its gradient is 8% and is like 20km long that's way too tough.
Jordan8789 2 years ago
Average is about 8%, much steeper in places. And 23 km long. It's a toughie!!

Ya wasn't it in the tour de france in 2000? Either way that's way too tough for me lol.

The title of the video is a bit misleading at first. Good nonetheless. It gives a good foretaste of the ride.
