come on,its the sound of the crowd at a show,as you can hear Paul talking later on,the sound has effects and has been muffled to sound like that nothing more
We used to get high and play this over and over again and it was like being in KISS church! We would play the FUCK out of our KISS records and still do. U can also find cool inscriptions on some of their vinyl records if U tilt the records sideways and look at the blank space next 2 the record label u will find cool stuff there too!
Bob Ezrin produced it, and if you could believe it, some KISS fans didn't like DESTROYER at first! I had a name for those people. I called them: INSANE.
Talk about filler!!! Love the album but if they needed some more material they should have let Ace and/or Bob Kulick jam a bit more.Great album though
Actually, my older brother got "Destroyer" when it first came out and I remember hearing this. I finally figured out that the song is just a space filler on the original record. This track is simply the children's choir singing "Great Expectations" and Paul Stanley from the KISS "ALIVE" record saying "It looks like were going to have ourselves a rock and roll party!" There are a lot of effects on the track to blur it.
@lovegunII Thanks for the info. My brother got the original Destroyer LP, I believe, when it came out in 1976. Then he gave me the record, and as said, dont recall being on there. My guess is that Destroyer might have been repackaged in 1978.
I remember this as I thought that it was kinnda KOOL as a kid. But now it sounds just ok. I love KISS but you ain't heard nothing untill you hear my reverse speech of Flamming Youth. I have it up on youtube It is very weird.
kiss is badass no doubt about that! AND fucking satanic and crazy as fuck!!..... still a badass band tho.... of course pretty much everyone in the music buisiness is satanic... soooo... haha
@EEps18 What's really sad is there are still people out there today who think Kiss is satanic. I think they're the same ones who say the world is going to end today, and it was suppose to end in 1994 and 2000! Kiss will be in my area Memorial Day weekend.
for those of you who don't know, gene and paul being huge beatles fans wanted this to be similar to the experimentation they did with sounds and background noise, and overdubs of earlier recordings and mahsed them together to create something like what you hear in this recording..it's basically just paul saying
"i'll tell y'all it looks like were gonna have ourselves, a rock'n' roll party !" and the singing is the backing child vocals to great expectations , with some heavy reverb and echoe !
@blica1 I know this one from when it came out and still cannot descypher the beginning words to the child choir but I do here the last two words and those are " The Devil". I've tried to drown Paul out with eq's but still can't make the first part but I definetely know the last two are "the Devil". I think they might be saying destroying or destroy. Someone with the right equipment could probably figure this one out. Paul's voice is definetely just there to mask it out.
@timm441 Nnnnnnnot exactly: "Revenge" album first track, "Unholy", is about the Devil we all nurture inside of us whenever we allow something wrong to happen ("I am the Incubus / I lay the egg in you / The Worm the burrows through your brain" ; "I'm the Lord of The Flies" ; "From the Left Hand of Power comes the Father of Lies").
@bruzrcruzr2004 Well Bruzer..Time for a HEARING AID or TWO! He never even says the word "devil" It's ROCK N' ROLL PARTY..from Paul's Jive on ALIVE, just Paul talking to the crowd, man!
@MrAlbo420 Or maybe you just need glasses. I was not referring to what paul is saying but what the choir is saying. I think I might have figured out though why it is hard to make out the first part of the choir and the first part of paul to is that it is something backwards first. I am not looking for negative feedback but some help from somebody with the right equipment to break it apart and to play the backward parts forward.I've been curious of this piece from the first time I heard it.
@bruzrcruzr2004 gee, in 1977 i clearly understand that Paul was saying," I tell you Utah, we got to have ourselves a rock n roll party!" I was only 4 years old then
on my original album this is a separate continuous loop.. they changed it after the first pressing to a fade in fade out thing..but you had to move the needle on my copy to play it .and it keeps going
When I was a kid my friend and I each bought Destroyer when it was released. His had this trackon it but mine didn't . He didn't like it so I traded with him. I still have the album...and all the other Kiss albums I bought back then.
Destroyer album starts with a guy driving fast in his car listening to "Rock and Roll all night" and then crashes.....Destroyer ends with this "song"...I always thought this was a continuation after the crash? Is the guy going to Heaven? Is he going to Hell? or is he going somewhere else?...Bob Ezrin was the producer he always did shit like this.
well guys listen to it ...its just a combination of a couple of there songs cramed together into one short track...great expectations ...a live track....and a few others perhaps
If you guys listen really close.. You will hear Paul saying "It looks like we have our selves a rock and roll party!" It is from Kiss Alive when Paul says "It looks like we have ourselves a rock and roll party tonight!" For some reason they took out "Tonight" lol. Still very cool!
Part of this is when Paul says,"we're having a rock n roll party tonight" from the Alive album played backwards. This is according to an interview with Paul on the "Kiss: Behind the Mask" biography.
I read somewhere that Bob Ezrin added this weird mix at the end because he thought the album was too short and stuck this at the end. Destroyer is a pretty short album although I can't remember the exact running time.

I found a Destroyer tape in a garbage in 1976 when I was 12. That was my introduction to rock and I loved that tape. It's still their best work and holds up well all these years later. When I discovered Rush a couple of years later though, that was the end of Kiss for me lol.

I remember listening to Detroit Rock City on vinyl with the headphones turned up so loud- my dad would have to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to "turn it down- I can HEAR that noise"-- which if course WAS 'noise' to someone of his age- who mainly listened to Ronnie Milsap, Oak Ridge Boys, Elton John, etc.. but I STILL CRANK it up when Im cleanin house! KISS= ageless music!
I had this album on vinyl back when I was 8 years old and I remember listening to this track, recognizing "Great Expectations" and Paul's voice but didn't quite understanding what he was saying, as a little kid, I didn't know why they would include a strange "hidden" track like that but I remember liking it even when it sounded a little creepy to me and thinking: I DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND THIS BUT IT IS SO COOL BECAUSE KISS DID IT!!!!!!
I know I was about 8 when a neighbor moved in next door, I had seen posters of Kiss, however, I had never really heard them. Well did I get an education. Destoryer had just came out and I had to have it. I remember listening to this "song" and visualizing the recording session at the end with confetti flying and everything. As you know back then, no internet, and if you didn't have cable, EVERYTHING you got about Kiss was in the magazines. I am still in the Army
This song, which isn't really a song, was added at the very end of do you love me for the simple reason that producer Bob Ezrin thought the album was too short. Same reason for the intro at the beginning of Detroit rock city.

@ArchieGambleDrummer ....Absolutely, those were the days. I never knew what to think of it. Remember the HUGE headphones we wore back then :) I had a pair of Radio Shack Nova 16's I think....HUGE :)
@ArchieGambleDrummer haha i love this part u hear great expectations in the background and everytime i was scared i listened to it and i felt like WE ARE ONE and kiss is with me wherever i go!
@ArchieGambleDrummer I don't think all records had this track. I didn't have it on the vinyl copy but a friend had it on his. When I got the CD release, THAT had it. And yes, it creeped me out too, when I first heard it and then it ticked me off that my copy didn't have it...LOL!

Just a guess - but any "scary" stuff helped sell records because it made teen kids think rock musicians were in league with darker powers in the 1970s. There was a whole fad about that back then to make controversy to sell albums. It was all hype but the parents freaked out and the kids loved it.
Listen to the car crash at the end of Detroit Rock City and in the midst of the noise of the crash you will hear the words "WE WANT YOU". It was put there by Ezrin as a little reminder to join the KISS ARMY,,,"WE WANT YOU"!
It's a Combo of Paul's "It looks like we're gonna have ourselves a Rock 'n' Roll party tonight" intro to "Strutter" from KISS' "Alive!" and "Great Expectations" massed together.
I got this new in '76. It was on all releases I had seen on vinyl back then. Then when they released it to cassette it didn't make it. I don't think it was on cd until the remasters but I'm not sure. But it wasn't hidden. I thought Paul was talkin to ME!!!! It was so awesome as a 10 yr. old. Still pretty damn cool!!!! KISS is kiss without ACE & PETER!!
Ooohhhh. I knew there was something odd about this song but always thought that it was a continuation of Great Expectations (much like Eucutta and leiefilm indicated,) I had this album when I was nine and couldn't make sense of it. Thanks for shedding some light on something that has gnawed at me for 31 years.
Yeah that is what always thought.......I could always understand what they are singing in it though.... but I'm wierd like that, Iunderstand allot of the Metal nobody can make sense of...
Best I can tell, and I've been listening to this record for 33 years, is that this little diddy is a combination of "Great Expectations" with Paul Stanley talking in concert, with a few other weird sounds. That's how I hear it.
hmm i've always thought of it as a continuation of great expectation, cause I've never heard that they have preformed great exp. live except for the hole symphony thing. But maybe your right
Its the children's choir from Great Expectations and as stated a loop of Paul's voice and crowd noise from Alive.

To all of you that don't know this little fact...
