HAHA why you Westerns are so so interested in Iranian affairs . even you know iran do not have any relations with you .. ya there is really political agenda behind you media all of the iranian know about it and even the supporters of mosavi dont like you.. only 5 % of shah support are on your side ... but no fear when god is on our side ..
Down with US UK Israel .. and all those who supports your evil agenda
Iran is a significant story, but the US media seems to have a difficult time explicating the root cause and the implications of this crisis. There have not been many analytically questions asked. It has only been: "Oh wow people are using twitter to fight Ahmedinedjad!!!"
Well, Martin Luther used the printing press to spread his 95 Theses...give me a break! Certainly, technology does make a difference but we're not reinventing the wheel here. So Diane Sawyer needs to sock it!
I had never heard of twitter until like 6 months ago and now it's absolutely everywhere heck Kevin Love announced his coach getting fired through twitter before the team did.
Obama's healthcare plan is a disaster. Now, I hope that the people of Iran can better there position at home and in the world without a civil war. They are on the right path if they can off load Ahmadinejad.
Couldn't fox news get someone more competent than that dolt? Murdoch has the money doesn't he? Or did he make a bad investment? This is made worse about how absolutely historic the whole situation is. I don't know how the Iranian regime is going to manage this one and remain in power. And all she can say is "hey, these guys are old, they don't get technology".
I don't think 99.9% of people get it either... but what do I know?
Forget all the political BS. What are the people supposed to do when they feel wronged in an elesction? Roll over ala bush/chenny 2003? Or rise up and show the majority is in power not the sleezy,
the CEO's of Twitter must be seeing dollarsigns with all the media coverage they are getting.... and i was i wishing the hype was over... but then this is for a good cause
It's been longer than that. Don't forget that the current Revolutionary (theocratic) government is only there because they overthrew the Shah in 1979, and the Shah was only there because western countries (including ours) staged a coup in 1953 to overthrow Mohammed Mosaddeq, who was the last democratically elected leader of Iran.
I hope people heed President Obama's words and allow the Iranians the decide this matter on their own. It's not our job to get involved with this matter. The intense media spotlight is a little suspect in that sense. Why highlight Iran so much? Where were the American media during the 2008 Zimbabwe elections where far greater human atrocities occured?
We should advocate for fair elections, an end to senseless violence, and Iranian stability through diplomacy, and diplomacy alone.
i agree with you.... difference between Iran and Zimbabe..... Iran is nation of evil according to US media and thuse more sensation worthy.... Zimbabe... is ..... just another country somewhere in africa.... same goes with the orange revolution in ukraine a few years ago... not alot of coverage
Oh, actually the Orange Revolution got a LOT of coverage, because it was an example of people breaking away from the influence of big, bad Russia. Ditto for the Rose Revolution in Georgia. In order to get any attention from American media, you have to either have something we want (oil, access to trade routes, ie Panama), or be somehow associated with one of our ginned up enemies.
I'm very impressed by Iranians. They don't believe the election was fair, so their standing up for what they believe is right....peacefully too! Who would have thunk it?
I didn't mean to offend anyone, i'm actually giving credit to Iranians for doing this so peacefully. Anytime there's such a large group of people together, something's bound to go wrong.
Iranians deserve credit for doing this with very few incidents. Kudos to them for that, that's all i'm saying.
Forget that, the only way this Mullah-led, corruption-covered government will get overthrown and freedom to come to Iran is for them to violently over the government.
Americans are too divided to rise against anything from the government. Conservatives sat on their hands for 30 years as they saw Reagan and the two Bush's take our national debt from 700 billion to 11 trillion now they want to protest everyday because Obama passed a stimulus package that cut their taxes. We won't ever protest the way our democracy is run we will just continue to demonize the other side.
We have our own problems as a Country.. I just don't understand how people are SOooOOoOo caught up into this Crap!! We're not Iranians.. We're AMERICANS!!
Our Media tries to make it seem like America isn't corrupt.. I don't know about you guys but wasn't it 4 years ago when George Bush "STOLE" the 2004 election? WAKE THE FUCK UP!!
There hasn't been a legit election in the U.S. since we abandoned the paper ballot for the Satanic Diebold Vote Stealer 5000.
I'll take an Iraqi-style paper, pencil, and ink-stained finger election over the Oligarchic facade of democracy that we have now. (And don't even get me STARTED on the Electoral College.)
lol George Bush didn't make it so obvious though so it was harder to discern if he did or not. ;)
And who said we were perfect, I didn't hear anyone saying that the Iranians were sooo below us unless you are talking about some news channel no one in their right mind would watch.
And were caught up in this 'crap' as you so lightly put it, because the Iranians are trying to get actual reform which is a big thing considering. And seriously stop being such an isolationist. :P
Oh, Gawd forbid that Americans should take an interest on what's going on in the rest of the world. You might be at risk for gaining perspective or something.

Notice the "when the time comes" part. I don't mean let's march the streets now, even though Obama is giving even more authority to the Fed as we speak. We march when they require us to be chipped to purchase groceries or something along those lines. Marching without a solid reason would make us look paranoid and crazy.
