  • Awesome movie

  • how the hell did i never knew about this film before???

  • Watched it yesterday on ITV2, amazing movie.. Very inspirational... Trailer doesn't do it justice at all

  • Ending speedrun was unfrickingbelievably epic!

  • この映画はよかったな〜。

  • GREAT BURT!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the best movies ever made.....

  • Stupendo!

  • Hopkins give a Tarkovsky dimension for this movie...

His best role and one of the best movie ever!

  • my hero!!!

  • 5 people thought that these video was about an indian who was the fastest!!! xD

  • People are going in that he didn't break the 200mph record. My question is this. Did he make his 'Indian" go faster than any other "Indian" to date? Has anyone broken his spreed record yet? So if it is claimed that it is the world fastest. Who's gone faster and why isn't it recorded anywhere?

  • This was fantastic for New Zealand. Both Burt and the film.

  • 江頭さん一押しの作品ですね!

    仮に行こうっと

  • a great hidden gem

  • Why has this film got a dislike button?

  • @motney555 no its not a dislike button its a "dis,i,like" button ;)

  • @GregDucati : )

  • Amazing!! I love it! First Mt. Everest, then the Bonneville

  • the 4 dislike this movie don't know what pasion is.

  • This movie is available on DVD. I ordered one for a friend that lent me his Harley (thinking I wouldn't take it) and also got a copy for myself. I never tire of watching this incredible movie "Based on One Hell of a True Story" !!!!!!!!!!! This movie will cure "Depression" ... in less than 2 hours & 4 minutes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guaranteed.

  • @typoannie54 I had my semi-regular "movie night" with my dear mom last night. I do it when dad is out with his buddies for dinner. I brought this movie. She LOVED IT! I loved it enough to see it a third time easy. My favorite scenes are the motorcycle gang's escort/donation scene to the docks, the race against the gang, all the work scenes of customizing, and of course the final race. She was on the edge of the couch for MILE 8! :)

What a lovely story, I fully agree about curing depression.

  • I'll never forget watching this with my Dad. He's 86 years old. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and landed in Normandy surviving the entire war. He became a successful businessman, raised 6 children, and followed in his passion racing hydroplanes winning championships and setting some records. He still has his vintage boat and loves to run it. He teared up watching this movie because he said he understood what this man must have gone through to follow his dream of speed. Both amazing men

  • @tlv156 i piss on ur gay das grave u faggot.... who make you think we give a fucking shit about ur cocksucking father?

  • where can i watch the full movie its a gr8 film and i wanna see it agen i loved this

  • Hell of good movie. Trust. I am BangkokJohnny

    Carsanook editor. Based in Bangkok

    Royaume de Thailande

  • anyone know wher i can watch the full version of this online?

  • this trailer sucks! even i would have made better...

  • @4052jartsa Indeed, the music and the feel doesn't match the movie AT ALL.

  • thats 1962 there bud, not 1967

  • When his mother heard that her son, Burt, got a bike accident, she said, "When is he going to stop riding the bike?" At that time, he was 62 or so, and the mother 85 ....

He is my all time hero.

  • The man (wth no formal engineering education) modified his engines in away unheard of today. He cast his "heads" for his engine in the sand on the beach. His original v-twin motor had valves entering the "side" of the combustion chamber, yet he devised an overhead valve system with pushrods he grinded down and hand filed.

  • im about to watch the movie for the 5th time right now my buddy has the dvd its a great movie

  • I'm downloading it !

  • Legend, since ever i trusted these are reallistic scenes, proves comes back. We will never forget you Burt.

  • The old Royal ENFIELDs are the closest you can get today to the original Indian. At least when I rode one. I rode the 500cc.s which were developed in India to work at high altitude. Has no relation to the tradename Indian (just a coincidence with the British taking over production). You have to have one hell of a kick to get it started so I no longer ride. Most of my pants have acid holes due to them, so I put rhinestones around the holes and wear them to special functions.

  • why indian?

  • @dhruvilshah30 its the name of an old style of bike. google it.

  • @kgkleader thanks i m a indian. india is a name of country.

  • @dhruvilshah30 well im part cherokee myself. what does that have to do with anything?

  • If you are luck you can find an Asain women gettop5.info

  • You know what the best part about Bert's enterprise ..... he just thought it up and went ahead and did it. He engineered, fabricated and raced it all by himself. I don't reckon it could be done now, in this day and age because of regulations and insurance shitheads, and I believe the world is poorer for it. We have a sad lack of Bert Munro's.

  • @jakyjac63 You sir speak the truth If only life could be like what is was back in those times, No Barriers to hold engineering and personal striving back.

  • @jakyjac63 it's those "regulations and insurance shitheads" that keep people safe, spectators and sportsman alike. You should be careful what you wish for.

  • Awful trailer to a lovely film ..

  • The fact is one book states Burt Monroes speed record at Booneville is 168.00 MPH. The movie states 201.87 MPH. I like to think its the latter but the book was written by a motocycle history buff. Anyone know for sure?

  • @fattony252 per wiki: Munro's fastest complete run at Bonneville was 190.07 MPH. He never set a record of 201 MPH at Bonneville as the film portrays, but did reach 205.67 MPH on an uncompleted run, on which he unfortunately crashed

  • my favorite movie of all times ! Burt monroe, you are a fucking legend ! rest in peace my friend.

  • the feat of a 68 year old man(in 1967) setting a world record on a 47 year old bike, one which stands unchallenged for 43 years till date, is something only gods have been equipped with to achieve. right there, walked a god out of the room.

  • EXELENTE PELICULA

  • hopkins is absolutely brilliant at playing this eccentric but detrmined genius.when you see clips of the real burt , hopkins absolutely nails it.This film really moves you and is a tremendous story about one brilliant man`s struggle against all adversity and toils that are put in his path.what an inspiration this man is.And no you don`t need to like motorbikes to enjoy this gem of a movie..

  • he inspired me to ride bikes.....and pour gasoline all over my yard and burn it instead of mowing....very inspiring stuff.

  • Movie is brilliant. Trailer is horrid.

  • Good story, with true Kiwi guts.

  • NZ is still home to the fastest bike inthe world the brittan

  • @kiwias88 Britten. Not the fastest, but has a very successful race history.

  • Anyone know what the music that kicks in at 0:53 is?

  • If you don't go when you want to go, when you do you you'll find you've gone.

  • I loved this movie. Just about everywhere he went people helped him. Yes he had problems but people, mostly strangers, helped him overcome them. They may have been rivals or picky authorities but his good nature and drive won them over. Nice change to the typical movie formula

  • Oh yeah, watched this is fullscreen at My Movie Share . com

  • love the movie, the moment he goes faster then the rest on the beach i just jumped from my couch,

    great movie.

  • One the best legacies New Zealand ever left on the world. What an awesome guy. Us Kiwis should be proud a guy like that ever came out of New Zealand. Never give up, and she'll be right. Now that's a proper can do Kiwi attitude. ^.^

  • awesum movie...............cheers from india

  • Lol the drama that starts around 1:05 in this trailer is quite comical. Movie is a lot better.

  • Fantastic Film! This trailer doesn't do it justice...

  • Anthony Hopkins a legjobb szinész! Nagyon jól játszotta el a szerepét megsirattam a filmet! Great movie!!!!!

  • the hotel he stays in in the movie is right up the road from me in hollywood. Great movie.

  • @earic23 omg, i bet it rocks in hollywood. i'll be there. (one day) =p love from new zealand. aka Aotearoa. =p

  • @s3xyHotgrl yea I love it here. especially if you ride bikes.

  • sick bike

  • this movie was really good

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

  • wait so what was the record he set

  • The land speed record for motorcylces under 1000cc, at 201.58mph i think it was.

  • @nothingnate707 201.057 miles/h or something like that

  • Being an Aussie, I didn't think I'd like it, It blew me away to be honest, Burt's now one of my hero's.

  • Burt the Spurt!......oh btw smartzazi all trolls will get there day.....geez lol.

  • why is his name "indian" tho?

  • that's the bike's name. it's an old usa motorcycle manufacturer.

  • @lemonsoda1123 is the bike indian??

  • @DADDYnick007 actually it's an american brand

  • @lemonsoda1123 no its a new zealand brand it was first amde in nz

  • @djtimtam according to wiki and the indian motorcycle website, sorry, it's american.

  • @lemonsoda1123 no it is a new zealand model.......they produced the model and then went to america to test drive it on the american roads as they were thought of as the best and then when pepole saw this machine they remade it thats why people think this is an american model but originally it is a new zealand model

  • @iMoDz114 thanks for the correction

  • @lemonsoda1123 no problem glad to help...

  • @djtimtam yeah but the one that broke the record was hand built by burt munro in his backyard he made nearly everything on his bike

  • @DADDYnick007 yes

  • I get teary just thinking about it, he proved you could take a bike regardless of age and make it do amazing things if you really put some work into it, I own a 1984 v4 700cc honda saber (nonv65 model) it's the world to me, I've only gotten it to 178 as hard as i've tried, 178mph, if i were evey to get her to crack over 200mph i'd try to decline the record, and when i get to heaven, I'd have to tell Burt I'm sorry, cuz that record deserves to be noted forever, he had the guts to do the amazing!

  • he holds the record for 100cc motorcycles though :/

  • Nope, it was higher at purchuse, and he modifide his bike so much the last known size was around 870cc his record is for a motorcycle under 1000ccs

  • good old New Zealand Inventor and a great pioneer of speed.

Makes me proud to be a Kiwi

  • @BPOPINGTMO yeah bro kiwi FTW.

sad to know allot of people dont know what new zealand is.

  • @BPOPINGTMO Your Proud to be a fruit ? only joking

  • @Jsp454 lol...sweet!

  • The most emotional I've ever been at a movie was at the end, when after all that, he goes back to his little shack of a house, but he's still the happiest he's ever been. Amazing movie.

  • @Brangoth4 thanks for writing the end of the film on a video that is a trailer, seen that read your comment, no point in watching it now!

  • @Brangoth4 very true, saw this movie on a plane flight and was stunned to find out it was based on a true story...simply amazing.

  • I love the part at the start of the movie when he tells the little boy "pee on me tree wont you?"

    XD classic

  • My Dad just went there this past weekend. Said it was the coolest thing he's ever seen!

  • dream job

  • It's a fun movie but they portray Munro as a loony and unearthly old coot. The hollywoodians just couldn't resist doing the obvious thing and make his character fit with what the viewer expects for the story.

A bit bummed about Hopkins, but it's an interesting picture.

  • i remember watching the part where hes crusing and there catching his speed in a car driving on his side then he just leaves them in the dust!!!!!!!!! GREAT MOVIE!

  • my number 1 favorite movie of all time... the absolute best acting he has ever done, and an awesome inspiration!

  • Very good movie, one of those one's you're like eh when you see the trailer but the movie is really good.

  • Great film. Awesome Story.

  • this trailer is a bit dark for this flick ! lol

  • he played a fantastic character. His accent needs work, but it's worth overlooking. Great film.

  • for the dreamers..never give up, or die tryin

  • Great film.

  • We always box above our weight here in new zealand when it comes to anything.

  • An amazing movie about a kind of heroism that has gone out of style!

    Thanks for posting!

  • this was a realy good movie i like the part when he gives the bike nitroglyceryn

  • It sounds like a wonderful movie. I have to say that I have not seen it yet but in racing they don't use nitroglycerin.

"Nitrous Oxide", commonly known as "laughing gas" is used by doctors and dentists during surgery. People also use it recreationally as an inhalant to get high.

"Nitrous Oxide" is also used as an oxidizer in rocketry and in motor racing to greatly increase the power output of engines.

    FWIW

  • They do, however, use nitromethane. Top Fuel dragsters run on it, and you can use it as a gasoline additive, though it's not the safest thing in the world.

  • dodgekickzass

I owe you an apology. I saw the film and understand what you mean about the nitro in the tank.

    My Goof.

This is indeed "a really good movie".
