Also, the thing you guys don't understand about the mormons is that we CAN do what you guys do. (drink, smoke, get tattoos, swear, etc.) It's just we CHOOSE not too. The church and this whole world is about choices, and we make the choices that we know are good. Please stop making judgements about the church until you've read the book of mormon all the way through. Thank you.
I was singing in this choir, I was actually the first kid shown. I know that most of you guys don't care but I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and I'm sure of it. You can't tell ANYONE or even tell YOURSELF that it is not true unless you've read the Book of Mormon, prayed, and even maybe had some missionary discussions. And anyways, I KNOW if you do that, you WILL know the Church is true. But, please, stop bagging on us. Please.
as i was saying just like moses he was chosen to be a leader before man in christs hands and led them out of bondage and they sinned against god are you doing that remember what happen to them they where cast to the lake of fire on the spot god striked them down by not listening to his person of choice to lead over 1 million people to find safely from satan why cant we all just get along we are all children of christ there should be no denomations just one happy family
ok this is what i dont understand the latter day saints are with god like baptist, and so on they teach the same thing but we know because we feel it to be true not by man but by the spirit like an old friend said to me what they learn there dont mean that they are wrong on things i learned alot of thing that i didnt know but why hate on the latter day saints we are a church group why cant joseph smith be an angel whats wrong with that your telling me it is not possable that god chose him
I was a child singing in this choir. It's now about 5 years later and I'm more mature and I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church. My parents have never and never will enslave me. I have the choice to believe in the church, and I do. It offends me that so many people have said so many mean things about this video that I was in. You should consider being LDS, but if not you shouldn't bag on us because we believe in something you might not. Thanks for making me s
I know it's the true church because of all the things that have happened. When you have a blessing the things that your blessed on happen. How could all the stories of Joseph Smith happen if it wasn't true? It's hard to understand so you should take some Missionary discussions. It will help you a lot and I know you will know it's true if you try!(:
@ScottSummers1141.....Again it's sad that you carry such a load on your shoulders. Not all get baptized at such a young age. I was given that free agency from my family. I was told that one day I will choose the true gospel that will fill my life w/ goodness N have many mentors that will guide me thru life as it has played out for me. Every child differs fm one another N sometimes not until later in life. I was 13 when I felt it right to B baptized. I shall always remember that special day : >
@TheAussie2000 it is good to sit here and read about one person standing up for this true church. For your faith and your words that you try to pass to these people, you will be blessed for it. Remember to pray for the truth and the Lord will give you it. Just as Joseph Smith read from the bible, "if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God."
@ ScottSummers1141.....It saddens me how you feel about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter~Saints. Maybe one day you will pray to find the answers that you are seeking for.....N I hope you do. The Church does not hold anyone individual against their will, that is why we are taught about "free agency". May you find true happiness that will bring you closer to your heavenly father. Life is good. : >
@TheAussie2000 I doubt that children that young even understand what this whole religion thing is really about. They just do whatever their parents tell them. How exactly, is that "free agency"? It's not, and by the time they are old enough to understand, some of them are already too "brainwashed" as it would be called, to actually decide for themselves. So don't give me that garbage.
@Ruxify Brainwashed you say......well let see, to teach them about God, Jesus Christ and Holy spirit, about how Jesus's chuch was restored with Joseph Smith, To teach family values, to love thy neighbor, to believe in the bible and the book of mormon brainwashing well I don't know but those are good things. Don't our children of today need this more than everrrrr!!
@susiQ75 Perhaps, but it denies religious freedom, you make them think the way you think before they are mature enough to understand the point of the religion, and they are unable to choose what is right for THEM. I remember a time when one of the Mormon "leaders" preached about homosexuality and how it can be "cured" when it has been proven it cannot. Thousands of gay Mormons have killed them selves, and if your child isn't gay, they may push hate/disapproval towards those who are instead of
@Ruxify keeping their mouth shut. Another thing that is messed up about your church is their disapproval in acts such as masturbation, when of course, contradicts a TON of evidence of how healthy it is. And of course, there is a lot more things that don't make sense that I COULD state but Youtubes comment boxes are too small and it gets annoying to make lots of them.
@Ruxify I know of a lot people who don't follow their parents path. I really don't believe that it brainwash you. Either you believe or you don't. About the other issue Mormon are not the only ones to believe that. I would think all religion think that way.
@Ruxify I have never in my 11 years of being a member hear them teach one negative thing in the church. Nor have I ever heard them actually teach on the belief of homosexuality, but I know the views. My brother is Gay do they tell me I cant love my brother? NO we are suppose to love them with all our heart and I DO LOVE HIM..does that mean I agree with the way he lives well no, but Im not going to judge him and he doesnt force the issue. There is only one judge and thats not me.
@coleneee Exactly. Why would they teach you anything negative? They WANT you to be brainwashed, if they all of a sudden started teaching bad things.... obviously you would start doubting. When I used to go, they DID kinda indirectly do a "lesson" on homosexuality. They compared it to dirt in clean water, and the teacher said "if you ever have any of these feelings towards another boy, you should come talk to me or another leader", when you really shouldn't have to.
@coleneee well when I was in the church they taught me that women were supposed to be the ones who stay home and men were supposed to do the work and providing for the family. I am not a woman and I find this degrading. If you are a woman and you don't consider it negative being told in the church what your "role" as a woman is, I am a little worried about you.
@ExMormon66 In our lives we all know what our "roles are" anything the church has said since I have been in that was not good to do is obvious that they are and anyone that doesnt see those things are not good are just blinded by there own desires and addictions. Dont worry about me I am happy and Love my relgion. Thank you for your concern, but there is truley nothing wrong with our religion. I do think that sometimes when people are hurt by something that is happening in there life
@ExMormon66 they try to find something or someone to blame. I pray these people see the truth and over come what ever it is they are dealing with. God bless
@coleneee So the purpose of religion is to keep us away from our own desires and actions? So all the historical documents that show the inconsistencies with the LDS church are just because people need someone or something to blame? If you're happy being blind then so be it.
@ExMormon66 wow you really like to take things out of context and turn them around I never said that is what people need religion for i said that people like you being all rude and going out of your way to bad mouth a religion that has done absolutly nothing but good things for what ?? pure enjoyment? Please please think about your feelings and anger and I hope you get over your anger because contention is not good.
@susiQ75 Look beyond the daisies, flowers, and unicorns. Try just looking at church history or the truth about Joseph Smith. Check out a copy of "No Man Knows My History"
@ExMormon66 the world is full of non believers, they choose to not believe. We had non believers during Jesus times, ppl tghat turn against him. You either believe or you don't. I choose to believe.
@susiQ75 So if I told you that Abraham Lincoln wasn't a real person can you just believe that because you choose to? If I told you the world was a happy place and people weren't poor or starving can you just believe that because you want to, or do you really believe what the truth is regardless of whether you want it to be true?
There is nothing funny or admirable in a religion that enslaves children, curtails women's rights and twists facts and history to fit one man's sick ideas.
@ScottSummers1141 Was it not Jesus who said that we must be as little children or we cannot enter the kingdom of God? To look at children singing and praiseing their God (regardless of religion) and then brand them as being enslaved to satanic beliefes is hypocritical to any who claim to stand for righteousness. How is it that something can be deemed satanic when it's entire message is simply that God is there and He loves you? Or are you too enslaved by worldly views to even consider that?
Listening to this hymn sang by the Primary children always has a different ,profound and spiritually-moving effect on me that leads me to tears.. their innocent voices contribute to the beauty of the hymn's message...Only when we believe and respect God's plan for us do we truly appreciate what the hymn is all about..:)
@tamasandy You're a "last word freak" aren't you? Fine, have the last word but you cannot decide you win a discussion just because you think you have to win it. My advice to you is to seek truth, not just an argument. Goodbye.
@tamasandy I was raised Mormon, then left at age 16. I don't believe it outright, but I'll tell you, 25 yrs later, this is bringing me some great memories. It's innocent. If you say "Hi kids. Can you say 'indoctrination'" to the dispicable ads geared toward little girls treating them like skanks, or to all kids to be a part of this sick society, then fine. Otherwise, try rethinking just going after this.
@JackNimble61 by responding to me, you're making it your issue issue as well.
the term indoctrination may be negative, but it doesn't change the fact that my point is valid. saying "they are taught the gospel" doesn't change the definition indoctrination. this is undeniable. the same goes for any other religion. maybe DefendingMormonism should make a video dedicated to the word "indoctrination" as he has already defended the word "cult". that way you can think positively about it.
@tamasandy You obviously have authority issues or trust issues. Maybe you believe the church is out to get you but that's not what we do. It's an invitation to learn and grow. It is persuasion, not coercion. It's teaching, not indoctrination. And it love, not manipulation. If you don't want to learn, fine, stay away, don't learn. But by seeking out LDS videos and badmouthing the church and its practices makes you the attacker and it is YOU that make this an issue, not us.
@JackNimble61 that's assumption is common from the religious. but, it's a bad one. i "obviously have issues..."? did the spirit confirm that to you?
"authority... trust... out to get"? no. i have issues with lies and manipulation.
"it's persuasion"? not a good argument. you deny indoctrination because it sounds bad to you. "teaching" would include multiple schools of thought & ideas apart from yours... but, not the case.
you seem to have an issue with logic... also common with the religious.
@tamasandy If you have issues with lies and manipulation, this will not be an easy life for you since it comes from every source, including those you trust the most.
I have no issue with logic. I am quite fond of it and it is a useful tool, not only in my faith but in my profession so I'm quite at home with it.
I take it you do not consider yourself religious. At least that is what your posts seem to imply. Is this correct?
incorrect... religion requires ether bad or no logic.
"...lies and manipulation... it comes from EVERY source, including those you TRUST THE MOST." ...just think about that statement and the fact that YOU made it... i couldn't agree more.
let's just call this how it is. you are upset and offended by the word "indoctrination". i understand. but, the undeniable fact is my statement is true. don't worry, indoctrination isn't exclusive to your church.
@tamasandy You are incorrect. The truth is pure religion and also pure logic. They are the same thing. You see, God is a god of order, not chaos. The universe has laws that even He abides by. Just because we do not understand all of these laws and cannot use them as effectively as He can doesn't mean He doesn't exist or that He is fully aware and has things under control. You're too busy patting yourself on the back for TRYING to look logical that you fail miserably.
@JackNimble61 you just argued with your opinion... in favor of what you THINK is fact. you need to realize that what you just said of God and the universe is your opinion. just as you would take anyone's random ramblings of God as an opinion yourself.
trying to look logical? pat myself on the back? no. this is just a simple debate. you're the one making assumptions about me, my motives, the way i think and feel, etc. i'm just calling it what it is...
@tamasandy LOL! This isn't a debate. 1. It's hard to debate on a site that doesn't allow links to be posted to support your side of an argument. This is just me correcting you. You can take it or leave it.
BTW, my "opinion" is backed up by scripture and the words of prophets of God.
still arguing with opinions, huh? will you accept my argument of what the word of God is or who i testify a prophet is? of course not. it would just be my opinion. but i should take your word for it?
you haven't corrected me once! your OPINION is "you follow the doctrine of a perfect God." your words reflect those of the WBC.
infallible men? your prophets are mere men. that's why you don't think adam and God are the same person, right?
@tamasandy Like I said, I'm just correcting you. The problem is, you think you know more than I do and that just isn't so. There is no debate here. I don't expect you to take my word on anything. You're not ready. If you were ready, you'd be asking questions instead of demanding that you're right and not being able to back up your own beliefs. You should leave the video comment section here. There's little that you value here.
@JackNimble61 i think i know more than you? when did i make that statement? of course i don't think i know more than you. that would be a foolish assumption. it's you making assumptions here. interesting enough, you stating that i think i know more than you implies that you think you know more than me. well, maybe you do, maybe you don't. that's not the issue here. i am fully aware that you are sincere in your belief. that's not what this was about. this argument was about indoctrination...
@JackNimble61 ...instead, you try to veer off and argue with things that don't pertain to the issue like "good people" and "beautiful children's song". those things are fine, but that doesn't mean there's no indoctrination.
i'm wrong because of a negative word? you're right because of good things in your church? come on.
i'm not ready for your words? like it's something i need to strive for? no. you don't even know the definition of "indoctrination" or "debate". i'm fine without your word.
@tamasandy 1. The issue is the video, not "indoctrination". That IS what the comment section is for. 2. I do know the definition of "indoctrination" and "debate". 3. You ARE wrong in trying to give teaching a negative connotation.
And, you prove my point about not being ready with your own statement, "i'm not ready for your words? like it's something i need to strive for? no. you don't even know the definition of "indoctrination" or "debate". i'm fine without your word."
@JackNimble61 1. our argument was on indoctrination. the comment section is for... comments. 2. you claimed no indoctrination and the gospel is taught (that's indoctrination by definition). you claim no debate. argument... aka debate. 3. teaching isn't negative. indoctrination is... which is what happens in religion as you've already admitted.
so, i'm not ready to live, think, or feel the way you want me to? i can live with that. your accusation is false... aka a lie, if you need the definition.
@tamasandy The word "indoctrination" as you use it has a negative connotation. There is nothing negative about teaching these children the gospel. Nothing. If you believe there is then you have serious hurdles that you must pass over before you die. I am not incorrect in saying that you are not ready to hear the truth. You may be one day. This is not that day. I'll leave you with your negativity and pray you let your heart soften. Good day.
@JackNimble61 you continue to argue with your OPINION on how i should live my life. not once have i done this in reference to you.
the only point you've made here is that "indoctrination" is a negative word. that's it! i agree. none the less, indoctrination still remains. your assertion changes nothing. you are prideful and cannot accept things as they are. i've proven you wrong on your refutation of indoctrination and false accusation of me. and now you cower away.
@JackNimble61 learn your way, right? well, i don't claim your way is right nor wrong, but you're the one that sees it as the only way one should live.
members like you often call people like me "anti". well, by the definition of the word, yes i am anti. it too has a negative connotation with it, but that changes nothing. i oppose you... aka anti. at least i can admit it.
your quam is with a word you don't like, not with me.
it's i who have corrected you here. it's you who is unwilling to learn.
@JackNimble61 ...my words make sense to both of us. everything you're saying makes sense to you alone. it's your OPINION which you believe. you just can't accept it.
so, i'm correct... indoctrination isn't just with your church? this implies that you agree your church and others indoctrinate children. ...logic!
you contradict yourself. if you believe secular humanism also indoctrinates, you must believe that there is no open-minded teaching there. that's MY point. your words are defending mine.
@tamasandy I have to wonder what kind of person would want to stick around a church video of a beautiful children's song and argue about belief systems and cast dispersions upon the good people of a good church that does so much good in this world. Surely there are better venues to discuss theology than the comments section of a YT video.
@JackNimble61 why stick around? why have you? hasn't your church leaders urged members not to debate on the church?
you have your belief, your opinion, and you hold your ground... as do i. i said nothing bad about the good people of the church or the good it does in the world. you just don't realize that's not what makes someone or a religion right, nor does it excuse indoctrination.
indoctrination does occur in your church. this doesn't have to change your testimony. but it is what it is.
Um btw this song is not perverted, its saying that we want to be able to live in the celestial kingdom when we go to heaven with Heavenly Father. i cant believe people can take these kinds of things in such perverted ways. if you take it in that way then you have a messed up mind.
It is NOT brain washing. Even if the LDS church is not true (which I believe with all of my heart that it is), is it such a bad thing to teach children to be like Christ? Is it bad to teach them songs about being kind and doing nice things and accepting others like LDS primary children do? They go to church and learn about the ultimate symbol of peace, love and kindness that we have on this Earth. Tell me what is wrong with that.
@Speedj2 Thank you for your reply. James 2 doesn't support the idea that we are saved by our works. It says the natural byproduct of faith is good works. Our faith is proved by our works, but we are not saved by them and can't take glory in them.
@JGsGarden exactly! this is exactly right. and this is what the lds church teaches. i understand what your talking about now and im pretty sure our misunderstanding was due to a difference of perspective. my point is that you cant live your entire life claiming to be a christian while not making any effort to follow the example set by christ.
@JGsGarden their are many who call themselves "christian" that believe so long as they go to church on sunday and say they believe in christ, they are saved and they can go do whatever they want the rest of the time. you are obviously not one of those :). as for our difference of belief on the godhead, all i can really do is encourage you to continue to do exactly what your doing. which is to study the scriptures and ponder and pray about the messages and lessons within them.
How is it brain washing? Only if you have no real faith in anything. I was catholic and pentecostal and never felt anything till I joined the LDS church. Unless brain washing happens when you pray to god. And no we don’t pray to joseph smith
@skrumf1 children who go to protestant christian Sunday school, children who go to catholic catehism, children who attend Jewish school or any other religious training are all brainwashed to a certain extend. Some, whose faith is also a culture like mormonism are more brainwashed than others.
@car8317lee UR IGNORANCE BAFFLES ME,THIS IS THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST,RESTORED BY THE PROPHET JOSEPH SMITH.WERE THE ONLY ONES WHO HAVE THE "PRIESTHOOD AUTHORITY" TO BAPTIZE THE LIVING,AND DEAD,I'LL PRAY 4 YOU.
for all of you who do not believe in God or Jesus. I feel sorry for you. You are missing out on a love so pure so gentle & so much bigger than the human race. I wonder if you doubters will change your mind when you're standing before Jesus & he is reading YOUR NAME from The book of works & The book of life. I will pray for you that you get it right before its too late.
This is awesome. We are all children of God and members of the same human family. It does not matter whether you are an orthodox Christian, a mormon Christian, jew, muslim, secular humanist, etc. There is a very important message hear that these children are teaching.
Absolutely terrifying. Sheep singing. Bear their testimony, coached by their parents and the bishopric. Mormons will say they are closer to God because they haven't been brainwashed by society so they have a stronger testimony. Nah, they are just sheep without the ability to make their own decisions. I knew at 8 that Mormonism was a falsity.
good very good song all this argue here dont really help anyone if you really want to know find out for yourself dont put anyone down or there belief thats just not of Christ i love everyone even my dogs
I was a member till i was 15 years old, Now 21 and as far as I can tell I am happier I am gone. I am the only one who left the church out of my family. I see these bright young faces so happy and cheerful but still getting brain washed by a false tales. I hope these children learn to grow and ask questions about this church and see the truth that which they seek.
oh how I love this song I sing it everytime I have adversity or temptation or hear someone use the our dear Father in heaven or his sons Jesus Christs name in vain oh how I love this gospel awesome mini
oh how I love this song I sing it everytime I have adversity or temptation or hear someone use the our dear Father in heaven or his sons Jesus Christs name in vain oh how I love this gospel
@lekotar Well considering blacks make up about 1% of the Utah population I don't know why you would expect to see any black children as part of the choir.
My mother passed away in February 2008 and this was the one hymn that she requested be sung at her funeral. To this day, whenever I hear this hymn, I think of her example and faith that she tried to teach me. "Lead me, guide me, walk beside me, help me find the way. Teach me all that I must do, to live with Him someday." Because of this, I know that she is there with Him, along with my father waiting for me. It was uplifting for me to hear these young children sing this special hymn.
@mustangllb64 Thank you so much for the quick response. I am sure we will sing this one day with hour primary children. We are of the Kauswagan ward in Cagayan de Oro city, Philippines.
@whoxis It's amazing to me how far the Church has spread. Here I am in California, Ceres 2nd ward and they tell me that there are more members outside of the US than inside. I shared this on my facebook profile and some of my non-member extended Catholic family members contacted me to say that they really loved the hymn and the message it provides. Remember, every member a missionary!
The 4th verse was left out originally because it was deem not to be a part of the hymn, but was subsequently included in later Church Primary songbooks. I was researching this myself so that I could make out the last verse.
@meljunsay hi, thank you very much for your offer, but I already have a hymn book in my house, I only wanted to know the fourth verse. I am from the Kauswagan ward in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. Have a nice day.
Well then why don't you come over to our side to know why we think highly of ourselves? When we are doing what we feel great about and especially those of us converts who had been in the darkness of other Christian faiths. It is annoying to other people because many of them our jealous of our happiness. Mormons being happy all the time is not just a coincidence.
@KenM66 Yeah, right... I see religion simply as brainwashing created by man. I believe in God, but religion is just stupid. And I went with my friend(Who's Mormon but hates it.) to his church on numerous occasions, and I could not believe the crap they were telling everybody! All in all, religion is wrong, unnecessary, and foolish, and doesn't need to exist.
@KenM66 I don't, and you shouldn't be either. I prefer the truth and reality. (Considering there isn't much more to life...) God exists, that's it. The Bible for example, do you honestly think everything in it is true? A book created by man that has existed thousands of years. Some jerk had to have changed it during those years... Unfortunately, everyone believes it. It's brainwashing taken to a whole new level.
@UnknownSect333 Well technically the church teaches that the Bible is not without error, so actually LDS standards don't teach the Bible to be 100% accurate. There are many inconsistencies you are right.
@KenM66 And what I mean by "there isn't much more to life" is that: You work the first 18 years of it away, possibly the rest, then you die. Sure it's good to enjoy the small moments, but for the most part, our lives are... Wait, let me rephrase that. Were MADE boring and seemingly pointless.
@UnknownSect333 thats why we have the book of mormon all the changes man has made over the 1000s of years of the bible the book of mormon is an addition to the bible it is great and true i know it and so do millions of other people around the world
@UnknownSect333 I agree that Mormans are nice people. I am Methodist and I have six (maybe even more) Mormon friends. They are trying to lead a good life.
Any way i am prod to be a Christian ... so Named after the Name of the Lord ... not Baptist, not Mormon, not Pentecostal, nor Catholic ... I Loves Jesus and I Followed the Bible and It is the Only Final Authority .... !
"Mormon" was the name given to the members of the Church by it's enemies back in the 1830's. The Lord instructed the members of His Church should be called "saints" as they were in ancient times (members of the Church are called saints some 62 times in the New Testament.) The Lord added "Latter-day" to distinguish us from members in ancient times. Still, we are proud to bear the name Christian as well, because each of us takes upon ourselves the Name of Jesus Christ at baptism.
@DefendingMormonism another thing that that person failed to mention is that in that scripture Paul is speaking to people who have been lead from accepting Christ as their savior! Last time I checked Mormons still do that! :)
Thank you.

I know it's the true church because of all the things that have happened. When you have a blessing the things that your blessed on happen. How could all the stories of Joseph Smith happen if it wasn't true? It's hard to understand so you should take some Missionary discussions.

Just as Joseph Smith read from the bible, "if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God."
dizz2rugby 4 months ago
@ ScottSummers1141.....It saddens me how you feel about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter~Saints. Maybe one day you will pray to find the answers that you are seeking for.....N I hope you do. The Church does not hold anyone individual against their will, that is why we are taught about "free agency". May you find true happiness that will bring you closer to your heavenly father. Life is good. : >
TheAussie2000 5 months ago
@TheAussie2000 I doubt that children that young even understand what this whole religion thing is really about. They just do whatever their parents tell them. How exactly, is that "free agency"? It's not, and by the time they are old enough to understand, some of them are already too "brainwashed" as it would be called, to actually decide for themselves. So don't give me that garbage.
Ruxify 4 months ago
@Ruxify Brainwashed you say......well let see, to teach them about God, Jesus Christ and Holy spirit, about how Jesus's chuch was restored with Joseph Smith, To teach family values, to love thy neighbor, to believe in the bible and the book of mormon brainwashing well I don't know but those are good things. Don't our children of today need this more than everrrrr!!
susiQ75 3 months ago
@susiQ75 Perhaps, but it denies religious freedom, you make them think the way you think before they are mature enough to understand the point of the religion, and they are unable to choose what is right for THEM. I remember a time when one of the Mormon "leaders" preached about homosexuality and how it can be "cured" when it has been proven it cannot. Thousands of gay Mormons have killed them selves, and if your child isn't gay, they may push hate/disapproval towards those who are instead of
Ruxify 3 months ago
@Ruxify keeping their mouth shut. Another thing that is messed up about your church is their disapproval in acts such as masturbation, when of course, contradicts a TON of evidence of how healthy it is. And of course, there is a lot more things that don't make sense that I COULD state but Youtubes comment boxes are too small and it gets annoying to make lots of them.
Ruxify 3 months ago
@Ruxify I know of a lot people who don't follow their parents path. I really don't believe that it brainwash you. Either you believe or you don't. About the other issue Mormon are not the only ones to believe that. I would think all religion think that way.
susiQ75 3 months ago
@Ruxify I have never in my 11 years of being a member hear them teach one negative thing in the church. Nor have I ever heard them actually teach on the belief of homosexuality, but I know the views. My brother is Gay do they tell me I cant love my brother? NO we are suppose to love them with all our heart and I DO LOVE HIM..does that mean I agree with the way he lives well no, but Im not going to judge him and he doesnt force the issue. There is only one judge and thats not me.
coleneee 3 months ago
@coleneee Exactly. Why would they teach you anything negative? They WANT you to be brainwashed, if they all of a sudden started teaching bad things.... obviously you would start doubting. When I used to go, they DID kinda indirectly do a "lesson" on homosexuality. They compared it to dirt in clean water, and the teacher said "if you ever have any of these feelings towards another boy, you should come talk to me or another leader", when you really shouldn't have to.
Ruxify 3 months ago
@coleneee well when I was in the church they taught me that women were supposed to be the ones who stay home and men were supposed to do the work and providing for the family. I am not a woman and I find this degrading. If you are a woman and you don't consider it negative being told in the church what your "role" as a woman is, I am a little worried about you.
ExMormon66 1 month ago
@ExMormon66 In our lives we all know what our "roles are" anything the church has said since I have been in that was not good to do is obvious that they are and anyone that doesnt see those things are not good are just blinded by there own desires and addictions. Dont worry about me I am happy and Love my relgion. Thank you for your concern, but there is truley nothing wrong with our religion. I do think that sometimes when people are hurt by something that is happening in there life
coleneee 4 weeks ago
@ExMormon66 they try to find something or someone to blame. I pray these people see the truth and over come what ever it is they are dealing with. God bless
coleneee 4 weeks ago
@coleneee So the purpose of religion is to keep us away from our own desires and actions? So all the historical documents that show the inconsistencies with the LDS church are just because people need someone or something to blame? If you're happy being blind then so be it.
ExMormon66 4 weeks ago
@ExMormon66 wow you really like to take things out of context and turn them around I never said that is what people need religion for i said that people like you being all rude and going out of your way to bad mouth a religion that has done absolutly nothing but good things for what ?? pure enjoyment? Please please think about your feelings and anger and I hope you get over your anger because contention is not good.

There is nothing funny or admirable in a religion that enslaves children, curtails women's rights and twists facts and history to fit one man's sick ideas.
ScottSummers1141 5 months ago
@ScottSummers1141 Was it not Jesus who said that we must be as little children or we cannot enter the kingdom of God? To look at children singing and praiseing their God (regardless of religion) and then brand them as being enslaved to satanic beliefes is hypocritical to any who claim to stand for righteousness. How is it that something can be deemed satanic when it's entire message is simply that God is there and He loves you? Or are you too enslaved by worldly views to even consider that?

hi kids. can you say, "indoctrination".
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy I was raised Mormon, then left at age 16. I don't believe it outright, but I'll tell you, 25 yrs later, this is bringing me some great memories. It's innocent. If you say "Hi kids. Can you say 'indoctrination'" to the dispicable ads geared toward little girls treating them like skanks, or to all kids to be a part of this sick society, then fine. Otherwise, try rethinking just going after this.
stockinettestitch 7 months ago
@stockinettestitch i was raised mormon as well. this is still indocrination. sorry.
ads and religion are to separate things. i understand where you're coming from, but i can't completely agree.
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy Your comments do no good. They are taught the gospel. If you wish to use the negative term indoctrination, that's YOUR issue, not theirs.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 by responding to me, you're making it your issue issue as well.
the term indoctrination may be negative, but it doesn't change the fact that my point is valid. saying "they are taught the gospel" doesn't change the definition indoctrination. this is undeniable. the same goes for any other religion. maybe DefendingMormonism should make a video dedicated to the word "indoctrination" as he has already defended the word "cult". that way you can think positively about it.
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy You obviously have authority issues or trust issues. Maybe you believe the church is out to get you but that's not what we do. It's an invitation to learn and grow. It is persuasion, not coercion. It's teaching, not indoctrination. And it love, not manipulation. If you don't want to learn, fine, stay away, don't learn. But by seeking out LDS videos and badmouthing the church and its practices makes you the attacker and it is YOU that make this an issue, not us.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 that's assumption is common from the religious. but, it's a bad one. i "obviously have issues..."? did the spirit confirm that to you?
"authority... trust... out to get"? no. i have issues with lies and manipulation.
"it's persuasion"? not a good argument. you deny indoctrination because it sounds bad to you. "teaching" would include multiple schools of thought & ideas apart from yours... but, not the case.
you seem to have an issue with logic... also common with the religious.
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy If you have issues with lies and manipulation, this will not be an easy life for you since it comes from every source, including those you trust the most.
I have no issue with logic. I am quite fond of it and it is a useful tool, not only in my faith but in my profession so I'm quite at home with it.
I take it you do not consider yourself religious. At least that is what your posts seem to imply. Is this correct?
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 correct... i'm not religious.
incorrect... religion requires ether bad or no logic.
"...lies and manipulation... it comes from EVERY source, including those you TRUST THE MOST." ...just think about that statement and the fact that YOU made it... i couldn't agree more.
let's just call this how it is. you are upset and offended by the word "indoctrination". i understand. but, the undeniable fact is my statement is true. don't worry, indoctrination isn't exclusive to your church.
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy You are incorrect. The truth is pure religion and also pure logic. They are the same thing. You see, God is a god of order, not chaos. The universe has laws that even He abides by. Just because we do not understand all of these laws and cannot use them as effectively as He can doesn't mean He doesn't exist or that He is fully aware and has things under control. You're too busy patting yourself on the back for TRYING to look logical that you fail miserably.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 you just argued with your opinion... in favor of what you THINK is fact. you need to realize that what you just said of God and the universe is your opinion. just as you would take anyone's random ramblings of God as an opinion yourself.
trying to look logical? pat myself on the back? no. this is just a simple debate. you're the one making assumptions about me, my motives, the way i think and feel, etc. i'm just calling it what it is...
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy LOL! This isn't a debate. 1. It's hard to debate on a site that doesn't allow links to be posted to support your side of an argument. This is just me correcting you. You can take it or leave it.
BTW, my "opinion" is backed up by scripture and the words of prophets of God.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 lol? are you a teenage girl?
still arguing with opinions, huh? will you accept my argument of what the word of God is or who i testify a prophet is? of course not. it would just be my opinion. but i should take your word for it?
you haven't corrected me once! your OPINION is "you follow the doctrine of a perfect God." your words reflect those of the WBC.
infallible men? your prophets are mere men. that's why you don't think adam and God are the same person, right?
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy Like I said, I'm just correcting you. The problem is, you think you know more than I do and that just isn't so. There is no debate here. I don't expect you to take my word on anything. You're not ready. If you were ready, you'd be asking questions instead of demanding that you're right and not being able to back up your own beliefs. You should leave the video comment section here. There's little that you value here.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 i think i know more than you? when did i make that statement? of course i don't think i know more than you. that would be a foolish assumption. it's you making assumptions here. interesting enough, you stating that i think i know more than you implies that you think you know more than me. well, maybe you do, maybe you don't. that's not the issue here. i am fully aware that you are sincere in your belief. that's not what this was about. this argument was about indoctrination...
tamasandy 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 ...instead, you try to veer off and argue with things that don't pertain to the issue like "good people" and "beautiful children's song". those things are fine, but that doesn't mean there's no indoctrination.
i'm wrong because of a negative word? you're right because of good things in your church? come on.
i'm not ready for your words? like it's something i need to strive for? no. you don't even know the definition of "indoctrination" or "debate". i'm fine without your word.
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy Now lies. Not surprising.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 i'm sorry... could you be more clear with this accusation?
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy I'm saying you're bearing false witness.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 yeah, got that... care to expound?
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy 1. The issue is the video, not "indoctrination". That IS what the comment section is for. 2. I do know the definition of "indoctrination" and "debate". 3. You ARE wrong in trying to give teaching a negative connotation.
And, you prove my point about not being ready with your own statement, "i'm not ready for your words? like it's something i need to strive for? no. you don't even know the definition of "indoctrination" or "debate". i'm fine without your word."
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 1. our argument was on indoctrination. the comment section is for... comments. 2. you claimed no indoctrination and the gospel is taught (that's indoctrination by definition). you claim no debate. argument... aka debate. 3. teaching isn't negative. indoctrination is... which is what happens in religion as you've already admitted.
so, i'm not ready to live, think, or feel the way you want me to? i can live with that. your accusation is false... aka a lie, if you need the definition.
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy The word "indoctrination" as you use it has a negative connotation. There is nothing negative about teaching these children the gospel. Nothing. If you believe there is then you have serious hurdles that you must pass over before you die. I am not incorrect in saying that you are not ready to hear the truth. You may be one day. This is not that day. I'll leave you with your negativity and pray you let your heart soften. Good day.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 you continue to argue with your OPINION on how i should live my life. not once have i done this in reference to you.
the only point you've made here is that "indoctrination" is a negative word. that's it! i agree. none the less, indoctrination still remains. your assertion changes nothing. you are prideful and cannot accept things as they are. i've proven you wrong on your refutation of indoctrination and false accusation of me. and now you cower away.
good day to you as well.
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy I'm not cowering, I choose not to engage against someone unwilling to learn.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 learn your way, right? well, i don't claim your way is right nor wrong, but you're the one that sees it as the only way one should live.
members like you often call people like me "anti". well, by the definition of the word, yes i am anti. it too has a negative connotation with it, but that changes nothing. i oppose you... aka anti. at least i can admit it.
your quam is with a word you don't like, not with me.
it's i who have corrected you here. it's you who is unwilling to learn.
tamasandy 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 ...my words make sense to both of us. everything you're saying makes sense to you alone. it's your OPINION which you believe. you just can't accept it.
so, i'm correct... indoctrination isn't just with your church? this implies that you agree your church and others indoctrinate children. ...logic!
you contradict yourself. if you believe secular humanism also indoctrinates, you must believe that there is no open-minded teaching there. that's MY point. your words are defending mine.
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy You follow the fallible teachings of imperfect men. I follow the doctrine of a perfect God. Which is more logical?
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@tamasandy I have to wonder what kind of person would want to stick around a church video of a beautiful children's song and argue about belief systems and cast dispersions upon the good people of a good church that does so much good in this world. Surely there are better venues to discuss theology than the comments section of a YT video.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
@JackNimble61 why stick around? why have you? hasn't your church leaders urged members not to debate on the church?
you have your belief, your opinion, and you hold your ground... as do i. i said nothing bad about the good people of the church or the good it does in the world. you just don't realize that's not what makes someone or a religion right, nor does it excuse indoctrination.
indoctrination does occur in your church. this doesn't have to change your testimony. but it is what it is.
tamasandy 7 months ago
@tamasandy You said, "don't worry, indoctrination isn't exclusive to your church."
You are correct there. It extend vastly into the realm of secular humanism.
JackNimble61 7 months ago
Um btw this song is not perverted, its saying that we want to be able to live in the celestial kingdom when we go to heaven with Heavenly Father. i cant believe people can take these kinds of things in such perverted ways. if you take it in that way then you have a messed up mind.
kyleiq1912 7 months ago
It is NOT brain washing. Even if the LDS church is not true (which I believe with all of my heart that it is), is it such a bad thing to teach children to be like Christ? Is it bad to teach them songs about being kind and doing nice things and accepting others like LDS primary children do? They go to church and learn about the ultimate symbol of peace, love and kindness that we have on this Earth. Tell me what is wrong with that.
htt4u 7 months ago
@Speedj2 Thank you for your reply. James 2 doesn't support the idea that we are saved by our works. It says the natural byproduct of faith is good works. Our faith is proved by our works, but we are not saved by them and can't take glory in them.
JGsGarden 7 months ago
@JGsGarden exactly! this is exactly right. and this is what the lds church teaches. i understand what your talking about now and im pretty sure our misunderstanding was due to a difference of perspective. my point is that you cant live your entire life claiming to be a christian while not making any effort to follow the example set by christ.
Speedj2 7 months ago
@JGsGarden their are many who call themselves "christian" that believe so long as they go to church on sunday and say they believe in christ, they are saved and they can go do whatever they want the rest of the time. you are obviously not one of those :). as for our difference of belief on the godhead, all i can really do is encourage you to continue to do exactly what your doing. which is to study the scriptures and ponder and pray about the messages and lessons within them.

Absolutely terrifying. Sheep singing. Bear their testimony, coached by their parents and the bishopric. Mormons will say they are closer to God because they haven't been brainwashed by society so they have a stronger testimony. Nah, they are just sheep without the ability to make their own decisions.

@whoxis I am a child of God.
His promises are sure;
Celestial glory shall be mine
If I can but endure.
Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
Help me find the way.
Teach me all that I must do
To live with him someday.
The 4th verse was left out originally because it was deem not to be a part of the hymn, but was subsequently included in later Church Primary songbooks. I was researching this myself so that I could make out the last verse.

It's weird... Mormons are nice people, but they think way to highly of themselves.
UnknownSect333 11 months ago
@UnknownSect333 better we think highly of ourselves then think lowly of ourselves
fathan16 11 months ago
@fathan16 True... But it's annoying as hell.

@UnknownSect333

UnknownSect333 11 months ago
@UnknownSect333 Well I am LDS and I have experienced both sides but I can assure you that all my years of being brainwashed where outside LDS faith.
I'm sorry you feel that way.
KenM66 11 months ago
@KenM66 I don't, and you shouldn't be either. I prefer the truth and reality. (Considering there isn't much more to life...) God exists, that's it. The Bible for example, do you honestly think everything in it is true? A book created by man that has existed thousands of years. Some jerk had to have changed it during those years... Unfortunately, everyone believes it. It's brainwashing taken to a whole new level.
UnknownSect333 11 months ago
@UnknownSect333 Well technically the church teaches that the Bible is not without error, so actually LDS standards don't teach the Bible to be 100% accurate. There are many inconsistencies you are right.
KenM66 11 months ago
@KenM66 And what I mean by "there isn't much more to life" is that: You work the first 18 years of it away, possibly the rest, then you die. Sure it's good to enjoy the small moments, but for the most part, our lives are... Wait, let me rephrase that. Were MADE boring and seemingly pointless.
UnknownSect333 11 months ago
@UnknownSect333 thats why we have the book of mormon all the changes man has made over the 1000s of years of the bible the book of mormon is an addition to the bible it is great and true i know it and so do millions of other people around the world

@UnknownSect333 I agree that Mormans are nice people. I am Methodist and I have six (maybe even more) Mormon friends. They are trying to lead a good life.
