I'm picking up my 08 on Monday. I can't find an aftermarket integrated tail light for it, but I can't stand the ugly crap stock fender. I guess I'll get the bikelitez kit and grab integrated tail lights as soon as I can find them. While the bikelitez kit looks sweet, those turn signals are weak in the daylight!
If anyone finds an integrated tail light for the 08, please message me or post here... thx
I purchased the hotbodies kit. I installed it yesterday and it was extremely difficult. Luckily i have a friend who is custom fabricator that helped me. I would have never been able to do it on my own, took about 3 hours.
But it looks AMAZING. Better than bikelitez in my opinion. If you're just a normal guy like me though, go with bikelitez because it looks easy to install. Hotbodies looks amazing but really frustrating to install...and i had professional help.
Does look cool and although I have the bikelitez kit, I agree the hotbodies one looks better in the pictures, BUT Im not sure how bright the led's work. I know most of their kits you cant see them during the day time.
Yeah it looks amazing. The lights are surprisingly bright. After seeing your video and comparing it to hotbodies I think hotbodies is brighter. It has 4 yellow LED lights that blink on each side, so its very clear.
The thing that blew me away is the license plate light. Its a really really small LED but it lights up the plate like there is a flashlight right on it.
Both are quality products, depends on the person. My bike is the same color as yours, and the new black tail looks great.
I installed the Hotbodies set up, and let me tell u i was really dissapointed, i literally ripped off my rear end to install kit, and to top it off...the color match was way off..i have to take it to a body shop so they could match the paint, i give the Hotbodies fender eliminator a D-
Wow, Im really glad I got the bikelitez kit! when I first saw the hotbodies I was afraid I got the wrong kit but all these complaints proves otherwise. I got the hotbodies windscreen and it doesnt fit right and many others say the same thing. Im very dissapointed with hotbodies.
Hotbodies, shame on you! I got the windscreen from them and it doesnt fit very well. Im dissapointed in hotbodies products. BUT Im glad I went with the bikelitez kit because there was no problem with my fender eliminator kit!
I really dont remember. I didnt even have instructions because it was a early edition and I just figured it out as I went. Didnt your come with instructions? The Hotbodies looks cool but I know they have a bad history with the signals being way to dim and they had no license plate mount.
I actually got it for a lot less because they hooked me up before it was released to the public. But, I still would have paid regular price for the look of perfection.
Hey, thanks for the day light view. It looks great. Where did you put your license plate. Can you maybe do a walk around. I want to get the new 1000rr but really hate the look of the new tail lights. It just looks bad to much stuff hanging in the back. A side view would be great to. Or just a total walk around. Thanks
The plate mount was part of the kit. its right above the tire. you can see the yellow text on the plate bracket. I still have my temps and I dont have a plate yet. Ill try to do a walk around video but not sure when. There is already one on youtube though because I saw it, if you are trying to get an idea of how the bike looks.
has a cop said anything to you about it ? your tag?

How do you mount the license plate down near the shock?
glanzbo 2 years ago
you have to drill holes in the battery tray and bolt it up to that

I have the resistors but they are not installed. I like them to blink fast because I think its more noticeable.
cbrguy77 3 years ago
thats a very clean look ... did you wire in resistors for the signals or is that the normal blink rate?
