  • i seen this on avpg

  • lips are missing

  • i would so love to learn this!

  • Thats amazing work! Where can one get started with animatronics on a home based hobby level?

  • Nice teeth! :D

  • Those teeth, are fucking scary

  • wow now they even make androids to please men.

  • What is the lip material made of?

  • alien's are not real:)

  • there is hope for people who get their face smashed in :))

  • There is not an animal anywhere that moves its mouth like that.. I understand it's not like any animal, but fir realistic purposes..that might be the way to go

  • thats creepy but cool

  • Isint this what was used on the technologic music video for daft punk?

  • You should make one of thwose things lipsync to a song.

  • remote controlled braces?

  • So thats how this works!

I myself am about to get into this but I wanted to get a feel for what I was about to get into. Might you have any advice for me? pointers, guidelines, etc? Do you have any tutorials on how to get started and what tools and materials would be needed? And how able finances? About how much would doing a project like this cost?

Please, if you can, IM/PM me about this. I'm very anxious to get started soon :D

  • You might find this interesting watch?v=Ql1UYyaG98w

I find paddles work much better though.

    watch?v=ID2Fkse1bmg

  • I'm pretty sure it's a guitar string.

  • Daft Punk!

  • looks like hes wearing braces

  • you the man willett. i will be purchasing your animatronic dvd set as soon as i have the funds.

  • damn I remember how badass animatronics were in old movies like the alien movies, now they over use crappy looking CGI

  • ha thats awesome. as a guitarist i recommend ernie ball

  • buy it, use it, break it, fix it....

  • lol vampires have braces now?

  • Whaaaaargarbl.

  • Getting more animatronic eh? This is why we can haz good things X3

  • what do you add to the end of the wire so that the guitar string wire can loosly slide through the other wire while still being attached?

  • very cool!

  • AAAAAAAAAA i dont know what to think

  • looks like he needs a dental job

  • no wonder hes at the dentist his teeth are yellow and out of shape

  • This was used for things like alien in alien vs. predator right?

  • This is the operation of Michael Jackson's teeth. No joke!

  • how the hell can you make this stuff???

  • Its guitar string

  • @willettfx so... It's a guitar string?

  • @willettfx Thats beast. Guitar string, lol.

  • Those sleeves you have where the control wires contact the lip wire... are those nuts from the end of a guitar string? They seem smaller than that.

  • What's it gonna be?

  • that wire is supossed to be the lips. look at it like thers lips on it

  • i remember seeing this super unrealistic things in movies. SOOOO fake, no ones lips move like that when talking especialy without the jaw moving or toung. Especialy the whole mouth. Watching that, you have to mentaly force yourself into thinking its that thing talking and not the narator.

  • The only time ive seen people do that is in the Alien movies.

  • The alien movies are unrealistic too?

  • Can't wait for more!

  • Incredible.

  • reminds me my physics teacher

  • Great vid. THis is kinda a silly question but i want to start with animatronics and wondered if there are any good places to start for a begginner? I'm trying to watch as many videos as i can to get an idea of the workings. Obviously a human head would be difficult so is it easyer to do an animal? any suggestions or help would be great. This video helped loads!

  • @danielwills93 : That was not a silly question at all. All professions (and professionals) start somewhere after all... and that is usually by asking how do I get started. To begin you must first figure out what kind of animatronics you want to work with. There are varying types ranging from simplistic to horribly advanced automated systems. All of them require a decent working knowledge of mechanics, electronics, pneumatics/hydrolics, costuming/mask making, etc...

  • @danielwills93 : So there is the direction you need to go (if you don't already know about that kind of stuff). Work with the mechanical learning first, then move to costuming. You'll be able to make some of the most basic types of animatronics that way. Then move on to simple electronics and pneumatic/hydrolics to add some automation. Then start refining everything you have already worked on until you can create fine pieces from scratch.

  • what kind of wire in specific is that? it would really help me. thanks

  • Its guitar string

  • Nice work, quick question... what do the little metal balls on the wires do?

Would love to put this in our haunt.

  • Later I glued the small 2 balls next to each lipwire for the wire support

    Thanks

    gary

  • they probably prevented the wires that were connecter to the servos from moving too far out of place one way or another

  • I think that if you had a skin covering over it, it would move the lips to look like growling and soforth.

  • nice work ....tazprs tech

  • are we gonna get to see the lips?

  • nvm - i see your other vids now... AWESOME

  • those are some rockin denchers, I want to give them to my gran :)

  • Hehe, Reminds me of Doctor Finklestein from the Nightmare Before Christmas.

  • looks like one of the lycans from underworld

  • ha clever, who developed that idea?

  • freaky

  • Hey is that any spacific monster?

  • I know this must have took a while to make. Nice job! I like how smooth and fluid the wire (which im sure your going to attach lips to) moves.

  • Cool, such a big range in movement. thanks

  • Gary, I hope you have the How to of this On your new dvd set..Always wanted to learn how to do lip wires..I wish you would also sell the dvds seperatelly for those of us that want them but are on a limited income..Thanks Love your work Blinky

  • thats so cool and yet in a way the consept is realy simple yet efeftive

  • Amazing, I just wish I could do things like this :D

  • Wow, that is amazing. That will add so much more to the mouth movement and expressions. Hey, have you done much of this professionally?

  • MSI KT6 Delta was use in the computer controlled test, It connected to the motherboard's serial port.
