  • This just wont get old :)

  • I've seen this countless times...it's so addictive! Everyone does such a over the top performance...I adore Will! Such flawless motions in all they do! I had no idea that Gene nelson was such a wonderful dancer and star at the time! It would be wonderful to be in this play though I'm sure very tiring!

  • Will is cute but i like Curly more :D

  • I love this song, (my favourite from this musical and just about any musical) and Gene Nelson makes the cutest cowboy ever :)

  • Gene Nelson <3

  • we're doing this at my school right now, opening night is a week from today! i'm so excited.

  • that chic in pink is hot

  • i love this play! my high school is now doing it :) im one of the girls that will dances with.. and a saloon girl. i do all the dances. :)

  • @8Melissaanne Oooh! Very nice. :) I would love to dance with Will!

  • @ClassicDamsel yeah hahah its real fun :) and its a plus cuz the guy who plays will is one of my best friends :)

  • Just a few years after this, Nelson embarked on a successful career as a TV and movie director. He made an acting comeback of sorts in the original cast of Sondheim's ''Follies.'' The version with Hugh Jackman wasn't made for TV. It was a big hit in 1998 in London, and a bigger hit on Broadway the next year. PBS taped the final live Broadway performance for playback, which it also did with ''Crazy For You,'' ''Fosse,'' ''South Pacific,'' and other shows. That's what we saw on TV in 1999.

  • this is my fav couple in the movie :)

  • i love Will. haha

  • @cXcarolayXc So do I! Definitely my second favorite character, the first being Curly. :)

  • The word man at sounds 1:38 amazing!!!!!!!!! I just love Gene Nelsons deep voice :)

  • @emilyskinner10 Yes, I love that part, too! He sang, he dance... he was a dream! :)

  • Which version of Oklahoma is this? Year, etc.? ...

My school is doing Oklahoma this year, and I'm Will!! I wanted Curly, but I work alot and I won't be able to make it to all the practices, so our director (I think that's the word) decided to have me be Will (which, I'm fine with) :D

  • @NickerRaeff It is the 1955 version, starring Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones. I think the only other version out there is one from 1999 that was made for TV, starring Hugh Jackman. I've only seen bits and pieces of that one, but the 1955 is definitely better!

That's wonderful! Congratulations! Curly would be real fun to play, but Will is great, too! I'm glad you get to be him. :)

  • Sorry got cut off as I was saying But I got in the chorus. excited for it though. Last year we did HSM2 and I didn't get in then. And congrats to jblood63 for getting the part of Ado Annie. my dad says she's the comic relief in the musical. BTW reason I can't do a reply box thing is cuz I'm typing this on my iPad!

  • @PrincessAlyssHearts Congratulations on getting in the choir! I hope you get the part of Aunt Eller!

  • @ClassicDamsel I would have but I already said I got in the chorus.

  • @PrincessAlyssHearts Oh! I thought maybe you still had the chance of getting the part.

  • @ClassicDamsel Kinda wish I still did.

  • Love this movie! My school is doing this musical. I got a callback for Aunt Eller, butnI e

  • I just got this part in our spring musical. The only problem is that my ex plays Will. I think me and him will have fun with it, though. I'm uber excited.

  • @jblood63 So glad you got the part! :) Yeah, I think you will still have fun with it and just remember, it's acting so you needn't feel awkward!

  • This is my favourite number from any musical ever made. I think it is amazingly charming and sweet and musical.

  • "...To you I was as faithful as can be...for me!"(0:39)! Great line! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful number, which I see is indeed quite popular! And yes, their voices do seem a perfect match for their characters!

  • @azw596 Haha, yes it is! You're very welcome!

  • They're just terrific together. Graham's voice, while not "beautiful" in the conventional sense, is a delight to listen to and enhances her character; I think a polished voice would have been a detriment. If I had to find fault in this scene, it would be that she's wearing her bra on the outside of her dress.

  • @Hijodelaisla That they are! Yes and you know, I do think Graham's lack of great vocal talent kind of fits the character. Then again, that's probably just because I'm most used to her that way. Ha! It does kind of look like that. Thank you for commenting!

  • Oklahoma! has always been my all-time fave musical and still is. With re-mastered technology in picture and music, it is so fantastic! I plan to buy the movie soon. I'm sure many actors have played these roles, but for me anyway, no others can compare to those here. Everyone is just perfect! I especially love Will and Ado Annie. I would have loved to have met any of these in real life. I love love love Gene Nelson! Thankx for posting these clips!

  • @warmelody12g Mine too! I finally got my copy when I asked for it for Christmas, but before I just had to content myself with watching it on TV every time it aired. And you are quite right, the actors in this are perfect. I wish I could have met them in real life too! Anyway, you're most welcome! Thank you so much for commenting!

  • Hey!, that's Violet from "It's a Wonderful Life" (J.Stewart),

just made the connection, looks good, thanks

  • @pugliesej It is indeed! You're welcome. Thanks for commenting!

  • @pugliesej Oh my gosh! I never noticed that before!!! I love that movie!!

  • love her dress (: , not her voice tho

  • @sarahsmartypants Me too! She definitely was not a great singer, but other than her voice, I think she made the perfect Ado Annie. Thank you for commenting!

  • No one is as good as Gloria Grahame! <3

  • @CharlotteTulett93 She definitely made Ado Annie. Thanks for commenting!

  • @CharlotteTulett93 If only she sang better. I'm sorry. I can see you love her but really her voice sounds just eeh

  • BRAVO!!!!

  • Love this song!

  • @extremechictionary Yes, it's great. Thanks for commenting!

  • @JaycelaneFortin Hey! Thank you for commenting! That's really cool that you got to be Ado Annie. I watched some of your videos and I think you did a good job! For me it would be hard to play Ado Annie since I'm so used to Gloria Grahame's, so I would want to be like her, but you did a good job of making her your own.

  • Did this show last year, i was ADO ANNIE. I picture her as more of a blank yet happy girl. =D Check out my channel and you can see most of ado annie's scenes, including this song! I would love some feedback!

  • My high school did this production. It was so much fun. We had a blast. It was almost like time travel. I miss those days on stage. Love and miss my NHS Family

  • @IamJennaMarie Really? That's awesome! Who were you in it?

  • @ClassicDamsel Not a larg part. My best friend was an AMAZING Aunt Eller. I was ALMOST Gertie. And my exboyfriend was Jud.

  • @IamJennaMarie Oh, okay. I have always thought this would be such a fun play to be in.

  • @ClassicDamsel It really was. Probably the best experience of my life so far even though I didn't have any speaking lines in this particular production.

  • @IamJennaMarie funny my school did this too I was in it and I went to a high school that was all NHS ar eyou perhaps from Northridge High School?

  • @Templarocho No, I didn't go to Northridge. Sorry.

  • Whenever I hear this, I close my eyes and suddenly I'm 5 years old in the early 80's watching Oklahoma at my grandma's house on her new VCR..... would somebody hurry up and invent a time machine? LOL

  • @wardupyo Haha! I know what you mean. Thanks for commenting!

  • Gloria Grahame is superb during this song! really love her performance :) thanks for the great upload!!!

  • @lomoleolomo You're very welcome! Yes, I have never seen an Ado Annie I liked better than Ms. Grahame's.

  • I've been listening to this song nonstop, and humming it everywhere I go:) Thanks for posting! I wish there was real talent in this day and age like there used to be.

  • @Crazypom2 You're welcome! I know, me too.
