They finish school for the most part, just like you would in civilian life. The trade off is that they can count on you entering when your DEP has elasped. I believe the status is inactive reserve.The more ED now, the higher the degree latter(if & when you have to be the bread winner ).The Ed bens will help you transistion to civ life if you decide not to re enlist. The benefit of DEP is early promotion, pay scale, and a chance to finish school. GL&GS
