  • More smoke! :D

  • Love this!! But did she mess up at 1:47 or was that intentional?!

  • @amtcaudition1 The girl who screamed early? Intentional. One of the ideas in this song is that these girls aren't particularly talented or dedicated, and Mrs. Wilkinson is telling them "Look, it doesn't matter if you're good, just perform with some pizzazz" Plus all performances on the Macy's parade are pre-recorded so they wouldn't allow a flub like that in.

  • i go to school with trent!

  • THAT IS AN AHMAZING SHOW!!!

  • @jaden123r yeah i went in April to see it on broadway, Jacob was phenomenal

  • Did anyone else who saw this play with Jacob Clemente think it was absolutly AMAZING!?!?!?

  • looks really cold-but they keep going. go them

  • I liked when he walked around after she took his feather, pretending to have a feather lol

  • the broadway version of billy elliot is not as good as the west end version!

  • @welovevanessah Have you seen both?

  • @welovevanessah The west end concentrates a bit harder on the singing aspect of their Billys. However, the dancing of the broadway Billys is in some unexplicable way more intense and more emotional. Just a personal opinion.

  • No they're from the New York show

  • Comment removed

  • are these the dancersthat were in the chicago show?

  • @joannagay one of them is, she was in broadway before she went to chicago show, that is maria who plays debbie.

  • shes got a MASSIVE nose!

  • @factortenshithawk If they nominated them each separately there would have only been one other slot for another actor, which even more people would complain about.

  • @inlovewithJLT well u gotta think, do ALL three DESERVE the nom???

  • @factortenshithawk Without a single doubt in my mind. They do an incredible job and are working harder than anyone else on Broadway, let alone anyone in their age range.

  • That wasn't Hayden Gwynne was it?

  • no, it was kate hennig, not half has good as haydn gwynne in my opinion

  • I think Sergio Trujillo would beg to differ

  • There is no better Mrs Wilkinson than the original Haydn Gwynne, I wouldve seen the show just to meet her and see her perform. Though I am not a Billy fan she shouldve won the Tony for Supporting Actress, not Karen Olivo who is fantastic in her own right. But just so we are clear, I dont think Billy Elliot deserved as many awards as it got, Next to Normal is far superior in every way, and it totally shouldve won Best Musical and Best Actor, those kids winning is an outrage.

  • sorry, but how can you decide whether she is the best and should've won the Tony if you didn't even see her performance....?

i agree with much of what you wrote regarding N2N being far superior and much more deserving of the two Tonys over Billy. But your first comments don't really seem to have any personal experience to back them up.

  • I have the cast recording, seen tons of videos of practically every song, and know the base of the story, which part of me rant do you disapprove of and why? If you think Jennifer Damiano should have won I can definitely see your point and even agree, but... Besides she won every other award this past season; Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk, and Theatre World Award! And she originated the role in London earning a Olivier Award nomination. May I ask your credentials?

  • Having the cast recording and seeing videos are hardly the basis for comparison and judgment on whether she should have won the Tony or not, or whether she is the best Mrs. Wilkinson. You can't really base something on anything less than the live performances themselves, in my opinion. If that was what the Tony judges based their nominations and decisions on, they would be laughed out of Broadway. My credentials? I've seen Billy twice on Broadway. I wasn't suggesting Jennifer Damiano should have

  • won the Tony. Olivio definitely should have, but I thoroughly enjoyed Damiano as well and think she was a strong contender for the award.

  • Who are you saying should have won Best Actor? The Billys are so much more talented and their role is so much more than anyone else's nominated in that category (though I do love Gavin Creel and think he is very talented). And the musical itself is amazing, there's nothing like it on Broadway.

  • J Robert Spencer for Next to Normal, if youve seen ti you would kniow why. But my biggest problem with the 3 Billys is that every other actor in every show performs 8 times a week, and tony nominations go to roles not actors, plus its all dancing and while they do sing, none of them were as vocally good as any other actor on Broadway. 2 of the 3 are practically understudies, think about back in the 70s, one actor played Annie... I know its different, 3 people should not win for one awards.

  • I have seen Next to Normal, thanks, and no I don't see why. 2 of the 3 ARE NOT UNDERSTUDIES. They all originated the role. The reason they can't do all 8 is because they are CHILDREN, and the role is unbelievably demaning. While their vocals are not amazing, the award is for an ACTOR, and they are amazing actors. And if you're going to bring up that they don't sing, I could also point out that JRS doesn't dance. That's a key element of musical theatre.

  • Ok there are plenty of children who do Broadway shows 8 times a week, Lea Michele in Ragtime, Andrea McArdle in Annie...

Broadway is about singing, not dancing, if I wanted to see dancing I would see Burn the Floor.

Dancing on Broadway does not necessarily mean dancing tap or jazz, its called choreography, whether its a tango or moving two feet to the left, every move is choreographed. So yeah he follws choreography, going down stairs...CHOREOGRAPHY!!!! Frankly you can mess up a dance step.

  • question: Do you read things before you post them?

Yes, kids perform 8 shows a week: NOT IN ROLES LIKE BILLY. That part is so physically draining-it's possibly the most difficult role on Broadway and definitely the most difficult children's role ever created.

  • And are you really comparing walking down steps to Angry Dance or Electricity? Musical Theatre is NOT just about singing, it is THEATRE, meaning it combines the mediums of dance, singing, and acting. Yes, you can mess up a dance step, but the Billy's DON'T. That;s the thing. They can do extraordinary dancing, JRS doesn't dance at all-meaning he is missing a component of musical theatre in his performance.

  • Billy might be one of the mostr dance heavy shows, but then how come more actor/ singers win tonys then dancer primarily??? Take 2009, Alice Ripley and Greg Jbara, they dont dance like the Billys... How bout plays... you emphasive THEATRE, playts with no music or dancing is theatre, they win awards... Look back at past Tony winners if you compare dancers to singer/actiors it is a landslide against you, and if dancing is so important then why dont background dancers get awards?? They act too??

  • You are not understanding what I'm saying in the least. You said the Billys don't deserves Tonys because their vocals aren't up to scratch. I pointed out that n2n does not even include dance-a critical part of MUSICAL THEATRE. Not jsut theatre, MUSICAL theatre, the category in which the billys won the tony. They were not nominated for a play. Oh and fyi, if you're really gonna bring up background dancers, one could easily point out that the smaller parts of shows like n2n do not get nominated.

  • How old are you, 5? You aren't understanding at all. If we were talking about plays, singing wouldn't be a factor either.

  • If you look at your previous post YOU put THEATRE in caps, no mention of musical theatre... and no im not five, check my profile... Wahter, clearly there will never be a "winner" cuz it is just our opinions... I still think there win was a travesty, and when I see the show I will know in my heart for sure!

  • Moving two feet to the left is blocking, not choreography.

  • The role of Billy is in a whole other league from any other leading role on Broadway in terms of its physical demends, so even though the boys only perform 2-3 shows a week they are still working much harder than anyone else on Broadway, let alone anyone in their age range.

  • i love tessa nettings. she is such a good spastic starfish. DID U KNOW SHE IS 19?????????? INSANE RIGHT?????? anyways the show was amazing. i just saw it and got autographs from the full cast!

  • i love them!!! if only they did merry christmas maggie thatcher instead of shine, it would make like my life!!

  • what a lot of moaning groaning people you are.100s no 1000s of people are raving about this show.. and all the work thats gone into it..and all you can do is pick it to pieces.. shame on you all.. put your head down in shame..the little girls the billy's the woman and men are so great..we all love em..good luck to them all in all that they ever do.. and thanks for all the plessure they have given..from an old pro...luv you..

  • i really hate her as mrs wilkinson. haydn gwynne will always be the best

  • @jennifercwebster While she doesn't seem to have quite the vocal power Haydn did, I greatly appreciate that I can actually understand the words she's singing. The only thing I really hate is her costume; doesn't seem quite right for Mrs. Wilkinson.

  • @inlovewithJLT yeh, i think her geordi accent isn't very well executed either, but i'll give her some credit as she's only just started

  • @jennifercwebster i agree with you about haydn, but i wouldn't say kate hennig is bad.. she's better live at the show in my opinion

  • wish they did expressing yourself. that would have been fun

  • I did NOT like this clip! It's not that the actors/singing/dancing etc was bad it's just that I don't feel this song is a good representation of what Billy Elliot is. I mean, the kid playing Billy didn't DO anything in the bit they performed. I just wish that the people responsible had put together a better scene or something.

  • No. Thats deffinitely a girl. S

  • I'm pretty sure I want to marry Trent <3

  • hes mine so back offfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff i wanna marry him more

  • KATE!

It's so incredible to see that she has made it all the way out there!

I remember her back in the day when she was working the Calgary theatre scene.

  • TRENT :DDDD

    that was great :D

  • go tessa !!

  • i love billy elliot.

i have seen it many a time.

    its my life

  • arent they cold?

  • why didn't they do something that really showed off trent? he's the star of the show after all...

  • I love Trent, he's so cute

    and an amzing dancer

  • Hmmmm I really dont like this Mrs Wilkinson

  • why?

  • my friend is in there no lie the one in the left by the person singing is my friend rubby im not leing i swear!<3 awee she soo GOOD i LOVE YOU RUBY!<3

  • Thommie Retter is so hilarious! He's the best!

  • it's a shame they did not do electricity! or cut out the swears ans did solidarity

  • Solidarity has too many props and Electricity isn't a big show number. This was probably the best one to do for a parade atmosphere.

  • i LOVE billy elliot, but to tell the truth this is my least favorite song. why did they pick it??

  • They picked it because for the macy's parade they have to have a family friendly upbeat song. Most of the songs in billy Elliot are sad are slow more dramatic songs. This is one of the more upbeat happy ones. I would have preferred they do Expressing Yourself though.

  • why do all thhe girls look retarted when their daning?

and one of those girls is in my grade and goes to my school.

  • they dont look retarded when they are dancing actually

  • um, actully yes they do.

  • Comment removed

  • listen... she is my cousin she mightve not noticed that leave her alone!

  • oh hi julia, are you stalking me or something!? anyway, what did that guy say that you freaked out about?

  • cuz in the show the girls are suposed to be really bad dancers

  • ohhhh, thanks

  • @summerrox11 they are supposed to be HORRIBLE ballet dancers. it's supposed to be funny.

  • wow, kate is awesome! very impressive!

  • I was wondering why they didn't do a number that involved Billy more, but this song is a lot more fun than Electricity and it hasn't really ever been performed on television before, and also this is a parade so it needed to be a faster and more happy song

  • kate hennig

    is AMAZINGNGNG

    WOWOOWOWOW YAY

  • I freaking love this song. Oh ya, it's kind of obvious that she's lipsynching. :( Oh well, it's still an awesome song and dance.

  • with lyrics like "Give 'em the old razzle dazzle" and the fan choreography, I'm guessing whoever was behind this number is alluding to Chicago the Musical. The number "All I Care About" (on Broadway) has similar fan choreography and the song "Razzle Dazzle" has a few lyrics like "Razzle Dazzle 'em," and "Give 'em the ol' double whammy."

  • well yeah, its a joke, eveyone knows about the Chicago thing, well, most people, and its kind of like a shout out, they didnt steal it or copy it, its suppossed to be releated

  • well, yeah, i got it, i said ALLUDE. not STEAL or COPY. sorry you don't understand basic vocabulary. =)

  • dopey dope

  • i wqasnt trying to start a fight, just pointing it out, and im sorry but im not sure where you're from if allude is BASIC vocabulary, and no im not stupid either

  • whatevsz.

  • You can so tell that she is lip singing.

  • Yeah -- I mean the band is pretty much invisible.

really? You know on these type of broadcasts they all lip sync. Why the big deal.

  • ps. they should do it live and not lip syn, because they could really sing and sing it live everywhere else.

  • You're kidding, right? You're doing a live broadcast with 50+ million viewers, and you want live mikes? What happens if Kate's or Trent's mike fails? Too many things can go wrong. You can't stop the show and start over.....The best decision is to go with lip synch.

  • I'm just saying, they lip sing every year. Some are better than others when they lip sing.

  • my little sis is in this

  • Who is your sister?

  • I am so glad that they included Billy Elliot in the parade, but I wished they'd picked a song that involved Billy more.

  • Awesome number but I think they should of done Born to Boogie or Angry Dance with all of the Billys

  • Angry Dance is made for indoors not much ground mics.

  • If they let the Billies dance on concrete, they might lose a few.

  • Kate Henning does a great job with the accent. However, her face looks too young for the role.

  • I wish Kiril didnt leave :( he was amazing!!!! i miss him

but trent and david r awesome too :]

  • Don't forget Tommy.

  • so amazing! kate hennigs great! so are all the girls! and so is thommie retter! and so is trent, of course :) i bet trent was cold though! it would have been nice to see alittle more of billy, but i think its great trent got to do it and it was a good number for this particular occation. happy thanksgiving!

  • Good Job Mr. Tommie!!!!!!!

  • This was great but I wish they had done "Born to Boogie" or something that really shows off Billy. I <3 Trent!

  • @bandaide2012, it would have been great to see them do Electricity with all the Billys since it shows off Billy's skills but that has been done on air many times already. So its nice they chose something different.

  • Love this, though I do think that Trent gets way more oppurtunities than the other Billys.

  • they probably view him as the no. 1 Billy that's all (i'm not saying he is or isn't). It''s not like a school show where it has to be equal. theyre trying to sell a product so they have to offer their best
