  • OK, can he do that with some not widely recognized city?

  • teach me, master!

  • how many pens did he use

  • are any of these for sale?

  • wow amazing!

  • What talent!!!!! Almost god like! I hope he continues his beautiful works of art! Does anyone know the link for his manhattan drawing???

  • For anyone who does not know this but might be interested, he is a subject in Oliver Sack's "An Anthropologist on Mars."

  • It's nice and all that some people diagnosed with autism are not markedly different from neurotypical people. But, a lot of people are. Sugarcoating it does not do anyone any favors. Stephen does not have Aspergers; Aspergers is a whole different animal. When younger, he acted like most children with classic autism do, not as a high-functioning child. He was non-verbal, threw extreme temper tantrums, etc. I think that makes this all the more impressive.

  • Sigh... I would OWN organic chemistry if I had a memory like this guy!

  • 240p...we meet again.

  • @cazum17 ikr more like 5 percent

  • increible!

  • im an autistic person too...i appreciate my life so much that everytime i spent it on my hobbies

  • its so sad that we selfish people have to make fun of people with special needs everyone is talented no matter wether we have disabiltes or not we all have talents and no one has that right to take that gift away from you!!

  • Processes and creates structure "decodes" information. Increasingly in society today media, politics, education etc. Is geared toward keeping you in a left brain mentality instead of having the infinite artistic wisdom of the right. In reality it is best to have both. But most people only use a fraction of the power of their consciousness..

  • That is the power not of the mind but our consciousness that occupies the vessel which is the brain. Stephen is uses mostly his right brain which would explain his sppech. The rightbrain holds infinite possibilities and the left pr

  • I am a Parent of a child whose high functioning,I am a Advocate and so much more, this was hard and still with challenges my thoughts are that it's a difficult and expensive disorder to battle,it's all of the education and lack there of that we have experienced that has to change. You are great just the way you are, after all what is really normal??????????????????ADVOCATE FOR AUTISM

  • the 1193 people who likes this smart but the 28 dislikes you can suck my niece nana big toe and das nasty

  • pff, I can do the same, the prblem is that I'm not as good at drawing............and memorizing things... but seriously, that's pretty amazing..

  • pff, I can do the same, the prblem is that I'm not as good at drawing............and memorizing things...

  • @memusic21 he doesnt wear glasses..?

  • @SQTvsTECHNO it rocks for him because it's something that he is proud of.Don't say bad things about autism because my little brother has autism and lots of other people that have siblings with autism wouldn't want you to say things like that.

  • You are abso fucking lutely AMAZING!

  • What I don't get is people saying "Autism rocks". How come it rocks? It's a freaking disability. It's nothing to be proud of. But anycase this guy is truly a genious.

  • I am a Living Camera Obscura.

  • this is obviously a robot.... so stupid. hahaha in all seriousness this is so amazing.

  • Go autism!!! I may have autism and tis is just amazing, AUTISM ROCKS.

  • DAMN NIGGA YOU BEAST!

  • Stephen sweetheart you are the real man. beautiful. i am really amazed with your talent. spread the word..........spread your talent .............. dont ever stop....

  • Amazing how much detail he can remember, his memory just works a different way to normal brains.

Still, for every amazing talent, there are a million retarded Aspergers/Autistic kids on the internet with zero talent or social skills that think they are some sort of Einstein because they saw something like this, so it evens out.

  • I have Asperger Syndrome,I can easily identify with him.I've never been to Rome, but I still find it interesting.

  • I've heard of people being a walking encyclopedia, a walking dictionary, even a walking petri dish of STDs...but now, we have witnessed a walking Google Earth! He amazing.

  • Today is World AUTiSM AWARENESS Day!! (2 April 2011).. some people with Autism can have absolutely amazing talents as seen in this video of STEPHEN WiLTSHiRE aka The LiViNG CAMERA :-)

  • Wow. Dude! Your amazing! After looking for only 1 hour?!

  • Maybe a little off topic. But I got thinking, if he got robbed and lived to talk to police ... they would have a perfect picture of whoever did it haha.

  • @marphman That's in Paris idiot.

  • @marphman classic american dummie . its rome no shitty france.

  • Fantastic. I think it shows the great potential that goes untapped in most of us. Some day it will be come unlocked, imagine.

  • @ZaiDusIt22 It's called "Idiot Savant" I believe.

  • @ZaiDusIt22

Peapoles with problems? Might want to call a gardener, farmer or botanist to get help with that.

  • how many gigabytes do you think that's equivalent to?

  • I know the whole really cool thing is the MEMORY thing but he still did the drawing in 3 days and i cant get my comic book done what the Hell

But if you go put a comment here wich is racist I will think you go to hell and I don't even believe in God. That's just sick. And a lot of love and respect from holland for this man. I wish i could draw like him. I can draw pretty good but it is horrible in comparison to this. I don't even think i should compare lol. But 1 love from holland

  • "checking the pantheon, we DID discover minor inaccuracies on the roof"...

    do over.

  • Fucking AMAZING?!!!!!!!!!

  • A genius indeed. I've seen him draw the cathedral in London on TV. Amazing, human camera, walking ledger...GIFTED. He drew it all to scale, while flying over Rome. Imagine that!!

  • OMG, I can't believe racists are still in this world when stephen's here.

  • Cant believe the old 10% of the brain thing is still doing the rounds. It is a misquote by Dale Carnegie that has become an urban myth. I think the original assumption was that we only use 10% of our potential which is something different all together . We use all of our brain all of the time with even low activity during sleep. If any skeptics would like to volunteer I can remove 90% of their brain and we can see how they feel. I promise to only remove the 90% that you don't use ;-)

  • blacks

  • this guy is a master way cool dam str8

  • I have something that will help him to live longer, and this is good for all as well . A type of Chiropractic that is good working as good as the spinal disks health is.That is because the disks are supposed to float, move in the spine. The popping of the neck is symptom of a primary cause, upcspine, practitioners in your state. Knee chest, and Pettibon techniques are good too. An adjustment does not hurt at all helping all kinds of things including Autism. Adjustment given only when needed.

  • astonishing! Mind blowing!

  • i wonna hug this guy

  • the power of the human mind.. there is still so much to learn

  • Why does he have an Arizona shirt on? Stood out because thats where I'm from.

  • Interesting to see the different parts of the brain in work. He has a hard time speaking, but has probably he greatest memory on the planet. Fascinating, don't you agree?

  • Great video. PS: Sometimes i wish for youtube to have a ban list for spammers...

  • This is incredible that the human brain has the capacity to be able to retain so much detail with so little study. But in response to some other posts, I don't think it comes down to wanting to be autistic or not because "normal" has been defined by non-autistic people.I would think that of course autistic people would have difficulty interacting with our languages and standards when they have a completely different way of thinking about things that can allow extraordinary gifts like this one

  • i honestly believe this is a case where i can finally use OMG!!!!!

  • wow!!!

  • This guy is simply incredible!

  • Amazing.

  • such talent... amazing person. one of a kind.

  • amazing

  • God bless you!!

  • He holds his pencil the same way my 13-year-old sister does.

  • wow must have a steady hand

  • this is just some of the power of the human mind.we all have this mind but its power is locked to most of us,we are all 1 consciousness but it has been hidden from us

  • W0o0o0o0oW :D

  • I'm autistic, and let me tell you. Not all autistic people are like this.

It isn't great to have it. I hate it sometimes.

I don't understand some emotions, and sarcasm is like hell to me.

When I tell people I'm autistic, they think I'm a retard, because they saw the movie "Rain Man". If they don't think that, they heared some weird story, and thereby think I'm somekind of retard. I don't understand why people want to be autistic. I guess they don't know a thing about it.

  • @mmeelen I love autism because, although it does have its challenges, it also has its gifts. Just as you have expressed, emotions can be difficuIt for me as well, and I find it hard to know when someone is being sarcastic. Rain Man is certainly one of the most famous autistic characters. Life with autism can definitely be hard, but I think there are real advantages to being autistic.

  • @mmeelen

People do not want to be Autistic. However, we like to focus on the amazing aspects of Autism, because not all disorders caused are bad. As you mentioned, not all autistic people have the ability to draw like that. But you all have the ability to do things that others cannot. Just because you are not like us, it doesn't make you bad. It makes it difficult to live in our cruel society. Your brain doesn't work badly, it just works differently.

  • @mmeelen Of course they don't know anything about it. People in general are ignorant and are afraid of different people and have been throughout history. I work with a kid with slight autism and to be honest I can't tell the difference between him and a "normal" kid.

If you really want to get accepted as a regular human being all the advice I can give you is to inform people, use your handicap to your advantage, many schools would surely want to hear a lecture by you to inform others.

  • It's not "in his head".

It's a natural ability to concentrate, which he didn't lost thanks to his autism.

  • Stephen Wiltshire's art is amazing! His memory is beyond impressive!

  • It is a rare ability, but I would still prefer to not be autistic, as the disadvantages are far greater than the advantages. Autism, regardless of how it may be presented, is still a biological weakness, which, in a survival of the fittest world, would be eradicated. This may seem harsh, but the truth often is.

  • 5:10 (Y)

  • Stephen is an amazing gift to this world and some may say I reminder of what human beings were once able to do in many realms of earth life....

  • GENIUS

  • what documentary is this from?

  • That is so so so, impressive.

  • Genius @ work!

  • fascinating thing is that every human has this ability. Stephen's real ability is: his conscience isn't filtering informations from his subconscious. due to this filtering we use less than 10% of our brain capacity.

overcoming this blockade is the next step in evolution of human kind.

  • @Taljljlj You are actually partially correct.. Not everyone could do this.. He has autism.. Which means his genome is not the same as a regular humans..

  • @gringo i know he has autism. on the other hand, my friend, you know very little about it ;)

  • @Taljljlj Whatever makes your day sunshine

  • @Taljljlj

I teach psychology in the college setting and would really appreciate some source you could provide that would help my students to better understand what you say here. I know you're right, but I'd appreciate your sharing some of the sources that might reinforce this for my students. Thanks! My e-mail address is: jfgerman@shenandoah.k12.va.us.

  • Autism FTW!!

  • ok i was wrong i watched the whole vid friggin wonderful gift u got there buddy.

  • ummh. wtf you just need a good memory. like me. ;o

  • AMAZING!!

  • What a wonderful gift!

  • Gotta say, as an artist, shit here is hella inspirational.

  • Awesome 5/5*

  • Exellent!

  • Trully unbelievable but one has to ask, is this what we can define as Genius or is this what we may call super human ability.?

  • Same thing, what do you think genius is...

  • Unbelievable..

  • we read about this in physcology...its interesting how some parts are switched off in some diseases while other parts of the brains are made even stronger

  • 4:16 blew my mind

  • I see what you are implying ziggy, but you must take into acount that he is in a helicopter with very little time and has so much detail to remember, his drawing are suprisingly amazing and I dont think there is a human on earth that can draw or memorize as accurately as he can. That simple fact is why he is so astonishing.

  • @Sirhcislo I Concur...MANY A Genius Has Come To Be, Lacking Some Of Their Main Facultys...LOL

  • @Sirhcislo he's a talented artist in general as well even though he mostly does buildings

  • I would not call him a genius. I cannot speak for the other savants, but as for the one portrayed in Rainman, he was able to memorize vast quantities of information, but was completely unable to integrate them to form concepts and solve problems. I would suspect the other savants also have this problem. Regardless of such abilities of regurgitation, these individuals lack the most important human ability, which is to use one's experiences and integrations for application to future problems.

  • He's a Savant.

Savants are kick ace people no doubt ^^

  • OMFG!!!! this is insane... this guy must be very very inteligent... its a gift!

  • This man is a genius, there's no question about it.

  • genius!

I do not understand why they call autism "disability" when is actually the opposite, they are gifted.

  • He's autism is no obstacle for his mind. What an amazing inspiration

  • what is it?

3/4 of the brain we dont use?

you gotta wonder why, is that the next stage of our evolution?

    to optimize our brain usage?

  • No, we use all of our brains. We just don't use all of it for cognition and memory.

  • This is just off the charts, the Human mind is an Amazing Machine.

  • Jesus. That is just incredible. Unbelievable.

I wonder how consistant the angle of the city is as a whole. I mean, the helicopter was moving, so he couldn't have memorised the whole thing from one viewpoint. The drawing board was curved, you couldn't even see that much of the city without turning your head, or was he even able to compensate for that as well...

  • The human brain is incredible!!!!

  • that is insane! amazzzinggg

  • wow

  • I had to see this video for my Psych Class it was link pretty interesting::::::)

  • Haha, my professor showed it to us too.

  • By the way great video.

  • You guys need to shut the hell up.

  • you guys have way too much time one your hands!

  • nah, he's not that good. He missed 4 windows and 2 cars in the parking lot, easy. And he can't even do it blindfolded. Noob.

  • oh ok, ur 6 yr old, nevermind, u didn't deserved an answer either.

  • Needs more pirates, ninjas and dinosaurs.

  • If he can do this He probably got 100% on every single tests and exams in his life

  • incredible!

  • WOW!

  • Astonishing!

  • FUCKING HELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Being diagnosed with Asperger's 20 years ago, it was poorly understood back then and I was teased really badly (it didn't help that the teacher told the students without me being present) but people on the autism spectrum are genuine and innocent and have their abilities (mine is music..I can play over 200 songs from memory, perhaps more).

  • You're lucky. I didn't get diagnosed until I was 27. It is only in the last 10 years or so that Doctors have become aware of HFA/AS.

  • You are a disgrace to humanity!

  • Hatred is not called for!

  • He is so cool.

  • how can he draw is a good question. But this is because of his IQ,he is a brillent person

  • he is not that special with his artist abilities therefore he is not famous as an artist. What is significant here is his memory

  • Jesus Christ! It's amazing how there are such talented people. Is he a well known artist? He should be!

  • Comment removed

  • Don't be ignorant ALL your life!

  • terrifying

  • The human brain is more amazing than anything else in the world. This is evident of that

  • a no ma cayo

  • unbefrickinlievable

  • Its so amazing that someone with a disability like autism can have skills in areas of life which the average person lacks.

What a wonderful memory. He should be so proud of his abilities!!!
