  • Nice Tutorial...Check out my Tutorial Channel....Cheers

  • its a tutorial.. dont just forget somepeople trying know alot less than you :/ you assume alot,,, also try a higher res so we can see a wee better,,

still thankyou worked it all out in the end

  • yooooooo, HOW DO I INSALL REBIRTH???

  • great tutorial! So you do find that when layering drums it is better to eq them together as one instead of eqing them individually?

  • @bushofghosts1 I do it both ways, depending on the original samples being used. In this, the two kick samples complemented each other nicely, for instance, so it sounded better to just EQ and compress them together. If I had made the beat in Pro Tools, I'd be more likely to shape each sample individually.

  • @stuartmlambert ok cool thanks!

  • @stuartmlambert Good job , isnt there any program similar to this that someone can work with other sequencers/programs like Cubase ?

im Cubase 5 fan here , any recommendations? Thnx

  • forgive my ignorance but which program is this using? is it free? if not, are there other free beat/sound creators online anywhere?

  • @quazimododry This was done using Reason. There are some free or inexpensive shareware DAWs out there although I've not used them so others might be better able to comment. I think Reaper is supposed to be good. There are tonnes of free plugins available for making beats.

  • STOP SMACKING OUR MOUTH!

  • cheers for the tute, will come in very handy for a side project we're workin on

  • nice tutorial but I really wish Reason tutorials were done in 720p. I cant see any values on the dials and lcd's. Thanks tho.

  • Don't you not need to hold shift while creating the Spider Audio & Merger, as it automatically doesn't create any connections when created?

  • did you know that sigma posted this video link on his twitter? thats major!

  • @SGR14TV Jeez - I wasn't aware.., but that is awesome...! I tweeted them. #starstruck. Amazing - thanks for flagging!

  • Great tutorial. Also for the people asking for the same samples, if you bought reason there's similar samples in : Reason factory sound-bank>Redrum drum kicks>xclusive drums-sorted.

  • @marcuelcajon There are indeed some great samples included with Reason. The ones I used specifically here are on my website (details in the video). And people should experiment with finding their own samples - or indeed making their own using synths if they are feeling brave!

  • hi, great tutorial - were you using drum samples from the reason factory sound bank or were they from another source? didnt quite catch that part

  • @BRAKESUK80 Hi there. No these are my own samples. They're available to download from my website (details in the vid). Cheers

  • @stuartmlambert nice tutorial and all, but can you slow down? it takes a while for the info from you to go into my reason :P

  • you think in future you can build up the devices and tracks from a blank document to make it easier for people to follow along with (as i have seen done with hydlide24 and boyinaband tutorials)?

  • @synaesthesia2010 Yes - I sure will.

  • did you know you can just connect the CV gates on the back of the redrum so you can just press one button and play multiple samples? i've found that easier than having to copy each pattern to the track separately.

  • @oopo1 Yea, I use that technique to layer up samples sometimes. I like to keep kicks, snares and hats on seperate note lanes so that each one can easily be muted and solod and edited in the sequencer view. :)

  • which tempo do you offen use for dnb ?

  • @LAskeHosting usually dnb is around 160-180. i usually put mine at 175

  • wonderful tutorial! many thanks

  • @Nusoundsnow Thanks! More coming soon on bass and beats

  • great vid

  • @viperxl Thanks!

  • that dont look like reason 4 im confused is it the mac 1

  • @kxkarnage7 Hi - it's Reason 4 on PC. I just opened it through Propellerhead Record so you can see the Record sequencer in the background, and the transport panel looks slightly different. As I explain in the video, I wanted to import a sample of the song Watercolour as a reference track, so it was easier to do that in Record. But the beat itself is made all in Reason... :)

  • @kxkarnage7 obviously not :L

  • I just hit "subscribe", really enjoyed this one! I hope to see some more DnB in Reason tutorials. Maybe give us some bad-ass, non-linear, heavy bass line like NERO are using [which is sort-of dubstep sound, but it really fits DnB]. =]

Hope your channel will grow dude

  • @ElaDivine cheers! yes, just started but I'll be doing more DnB, rock and trance tutorials soon... :)

  • This is a good video man, you explain it very well indeed !

    big up yourself

    MIDI / error !

  • @midierror Thanks! Trying to help!

  • Would you recommend "record"??

please check out my music :)

  • @Tacadoband Highly - it's so quick and easy to use and just 'works' with very little set up. The mixing desk modelled on the famous SSL is incredible. I don't use it for final mixdown and mastering - that's all done in Pro Tools - but it's great for sketching out your track and getting guitar and vocals down quickly. Also, if you use Reason, it works perfectly, as Reason just opens within it with no fuss. Will check out your stuff!

  • @stuartmlambert cheers thanks a lot :)

  • @Tacadoband Hey pretty cool tunes on there - what are you currently recording into? I have similar aims of blending genres together (metal + trance + drum n bass mainly!) I'll be posting my first couple of tracks here and on my website ) soon, and it's always good to share ideas.
