  • Ula fala is made from the segments of the pandanus fruit described by botanists as carpels or keys. (Source: Museum of New Zealand). It is mostly adorn by a tulafale during social and customary occasions. The paogo tree( also lau ie and lau fala) is one of the trees whose leaves are used by polynesians to weave mats, fans and other crafts.

  • @MrTai486

  • Just wanted to help you out the "ula fala" referred to is not pineapple it is the traditional ula paogo "ula fala" is the term used when speaking more formally. I am suprised no one else picked this up. I remember 'cause I used to ask my Dad why they call it a "ula fala" when I had always known it to be ula paogo. Too bad I do not know the English word for paogo; maybe someone can help us out; but it sure ain't pineapple. Love this beautiful song and melody.

  • @superjaynie

Thank you for the input, I believed it is also known as ula fasa if I'm not mistaken..lol. thanks for stopping by

  • One of the favorite tunes - very traditional. MEGA ditto's for the translation, highly impressed. LoL ... if one sings along with the english translation, works out perfectly fine especially the chorus ... now I'm hooked singing the translation and strumming my acoustic, well done ... 'n I'm still LoL, love the images too, Godspeed. PRIDE of OCEANIA!

  • Come on in our festive home

I welcome you with beautiful pineapple lei

Come up and dance while I sing

    You look so magnificent

    Oh o beauty in totality.

  • Lower, moving lower

    Dance, dancing on

    Smile and dance be excited

You’re so cool in looking good

    Today you’re beautiful as gold

  • Let’s all be one in the dance

    An invaluable family time

    Rejoice in praising the Lord

    All of sorrows will remove

For his love is oh so true

For good, is what’s require of you

And come go with me to the Lord
