@HKChigger thanks for response! My base HD has a bad sector, so have to repace the entire thing. Apple wants $185 for installing just 500gb. Figure, just do it myself. Thanks again, and thanks for the video. Happy New Year!
Question...how does it run with your 2tb? Any overheating? Also, do you recommend a 64mb cache, or will that get to hot for this specific model. I'm looking to install a 2tb on the same machine, but dont want to push power consumption too far.

@shiloharts I didn't have any more heating issues with a 2TB than with the base model. iMac's tend to be warm though, so take care of them. Granted I am using macs in a hot country, so that could be part of the reason they seem to always be warm. I didn't use 64mb cache though, I was still 32mb from memory. (Traveling right now, so can't check)
definitely a useful vid. I have the 20", and while i have about a hundred or so gigs left, i want to put windows 7 with bootcamp on here, but not until i upgrade this hdd. want to go 1TB at a minimum. I downloaded your video onto my iphone so i can reference it in case something goes wrong during the process. the isight and temp cables are apparently the biggest threat.
Would you be able to upgrade the optical drive in this machine the same way? say you wanted to install a blu-ray machine? or does mac not support that yet?
