Black n' white kirby is from area 6 in Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland (or the original for the snes). One of the doors (levels) was a full black n' white retro looking stage, which respectfully, turned kirby black n' white as well.

it was actually Masahiro Sakurai that made Kirby and Super Smash bros. Shigeru Miyamoto helped a little in smash bros., but he did not create it, and had really nothing to do with kirby.

Yeah, I should have clarified that Masahiro Sakurai actually made Kirby before talking about Shigeru Miyamoto.

What basically happened is that when Masahiro Sakurai showed Shigeru Miyamoto his Kirby idea, Miyamoto imagined him being yellow while Sakurai wanted pink. But, Kirby's designed eventually ended up going with the way Sakurai wanted.

That's why I said that it was Miyamoto's opinion.

Actually, there are 3 hidden suits in Ocarina of Time which could be considered as Link's alternate costumes. (For both adult and young Link) if you used GameShark (or an emulator) you could use a black, white, and yellow tunic. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's a yellow tunic too for Link in Melee. If that's the case then his alternates could have came from these 3 extra costumes.

In Brawl, they're Green, Red, Blue, Gold, purplish-white, and dark link.

Captain Falcon's black colour scheme comes from the Ultimate Falcon in F-Zero X. It was a hidden debug with A boost, A grip, A body, and a weight of 0kg. Also, the picture next the stats and vehicle was different, and Falcon was wearing black instead of blue for it.
