they won't reunite because years ago the talking heads fought and david burn has a huge ego and won't have anything to do with the band. i've read hes a controlling type person. totally understandable for a great artist and he should do what he wants.

Here is what I don't understand. David Byrne says the reason he wont reunite with Talking Heads is because "musically they are miles apart" now. Yet he still performs tons of Talking Heads tracks at shows. And he is the one who doesn't want to reunite, everyone else still wants to.

@eternal0star I would say that the reason David Byrne does not wish to reunite with Tina Weymouth and the others is because Byrne had written most of the melodies, lyrics and music in general while the others just reaped the rewards of Byrne's hardwork. We really don't know what's going on between those four--but I'm sure David Byrne has an excellent reason for working solo.

@DESsid Uhh... what? Your ignorance of Talking Heads is a bit understandable I guess since Byrne is credited as the sole "Song writer". Byrne wrote all of the lyrics (other than the occasional one or two lines of a song) however the melodies and music were collaborations between all of the members. Hell their most famous song "Burning down the house" started off as a jam between Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth. The melody had nothing to do with Byrne originally.

@eternal0star While I certainly don't agree with DESsid that Frantz, Harrison and Weymouth merely "reaped the rewards of Byrne's hard work" (they are much more integral to Talking Heads than that), Byrne did write most of the songs. The only truly collaborative albums they did, compositionally, were "Remain in Light," "Speaking in Tongues" and "Naked," and even on those, Byrne still wrote the vocal melodies and lyrics. Byrne penned almost all of the songs on the other five albums by himself.

@lemsolaris67 Yes. Most of the music on "Remain in Light," "Speaking in Tongues" and "Naked" was all born out of jam sessions between the band members. Byrne improvised lyrics and melodies over the top of them later on. That's why all the band members (and Eno, on "Remain in Light") have writing credits on those tracks.

@eternal0star David Byrne has taken a lot of drugs which has side effect to make him see things differently than we do. Musically and mentally he is miles away from the Talking Heads. Dont let the music suffer

Very impressive tune... But it seems he's making it into a dance skit. I liked the earlier days when it showed more individualized emotion.....that's just me.

byrne stopped the others from touring as talking heads w/o him somehow he is smarter than them. thats saying something because jerry harrison is really smart. roger waters couldn't stop pink floyd from proceeding.

It is a tv show of Manu Katche and Alice Tumler (One Shot Not), where invites guests. Byrne plays in this show only this 3 tracks, what I uploaded here... I recorded from the tv broadcast, its not on dvd...
