I am a big fan of early s.f. movies, but this one is a snoozer. The story is so basic and clearly reflects the early years of writing. The acting is stale and dull. They wander right by this increadible example of martian ruins, but prefer to wander off down some empty valley. The martians look like the leftover cast from a third rate caveman movie. I finally shut it down.
9:15 "Yeah, I've done more flying this month than in over a hundred missions." Reminds me of one of the lines Lloyd Bridges had in Hot Shots: "I've personally flown over a hundred-ninety-four missions and I was shot down every one. Come to think of it, I've never landed a plane in my life." He was a great actor.
Thanks for the post. Yes, I can see why the women revolted. They ran factories in WWII that won the war and when it was over they were out of a job and the respect.
This movie is an example why in the next decade of the 60's women revolted in America.
Oh and Osa Massen, our sexually harassed "girl factor" in this movie was from Denmark. Osa played in several Perry Mason TV shows with Raymond Burr. Ms. Massen died in Los Angeles in 2006. She was born 1914. Not a bad run at life.

Less then 5 minutes to launch and they're casually strolling to the rocket! No preflight checks or tests necessary.
And the line about isn't cooking and cleaning enough for a woman, wow this movie is quite an insight on the sexist attitudes of the 50's
