I somehow dont think queen ever played live piano from 82 and onwards. Somehow i keep seing the sound "too" perfect, on the montreal dvd the camera zooms out, as if to hide the playback.

Did Freddie ever really play the piano live, or was it playback? And did deacon ever use playback? I really want to know. Ofc freddie never ever used playback but that music festival i know that.

Well.. good question.. but take a look at Live Aid concert, where the organizers didn't let the bands use any playback...and Bohemian Rhapsody was as perfect as here, only the end of the song was missing (because of the mad chorus part:D) i think he really played on the piano, and one more reason the intros of Bohemian Rhapsody are always different

As Konyigery says, the intros of Bohemian Rhapsody are always different, I don't think he used playback at all, just listen carefully to the whole song and you'll see that it is completely live. In fact, before I read you were talking about this I noticed watching the video some unexpected notes close to the end at 4:55, and there are more examples like this one. But anyway, the piano sounds perfect because Freddie was bloody awesome.
